I could tell Kari wasn't taking this well. She and her friend Cassandra had contracted me to raise money for their charity. They seemed very excited about the idea of auctioning off their bodies and the money they would raise.

But Kari no longer seemed excited. Or happy for that matter.

"But how, how could it be gone?"

I tried to explain.

"We auctioned off the pieces of you. Your contract was for your head to remain in the lock box for 2 weeks. I'm now releasing you."

"I understand that, but where is my body?"

I feel like I've explained this several times already.

"Pieces of your body were won at the auction and they are now owned by those winners."

She looks perplexed as she processes this.

"Cassandra too?"

"Yes, Cassandra too. Her body was auctioned off just like yours. You attended the auction, if I recall. I released her head last weekend."

"But it was only supposed to be two weeks!"

I can tell she is still denying reality. Yes, definitely still in the denial phase. Luckily the girls are usually picked up before they have to contend with the other phases.

I explain, "It has been two weeks. I've opened your box and I'm releasing you."

"But- But what am I to do now?"

"You'll do the same thing Cassandra did when she was released. Didn't you two discuss this?"

I could tell by her blank stare they had not.

"Cassandra contracted for me to auction her head to a brothel in town. You signed the same contract. The one your friend drafted, I might add."

Yes, they had definitely not discussed this.

"If it makes you feel any better, your head fetched twice as much as hers. Her head box was simply installed behind a glory hole, while yours will be out front where the men can admire and physically interact with it."

This did not seem to make her feel better.
