After a long day at work I arrived at home, my black hair in knots. I just wanted to rush inside and take a nice long bath and then watch a good long movie.

I turned the key, my car almost crying for mercy as it shut off. My white t-shirt and dark blue

jeans reflected in the SUV’s mirrors. I then opened the door and headed inside.

After throwing my keys on the keyring I went to the fringe to see about getting a quick snack. It was there that I saw it. A strange bottle with the words Drink Me, in bold print right above To Merlina.

I walked over and picked the strange glass bottle with its blue liquid up. It didn’t say who it was from. I scratched my head, parting my black hair as I did so. Who would send such a strange thing to me?

I set it back on the counter and looked inside the fridge, locating a nice apple inside. It would do as a quick snack before going to take my long soothing bath. I picked it up and went over to the kitchen counter for a knife to slice it.

As I looked my eyes went again to my strange gift. The temptation to try it was knowing at my mind. A few sips now couldn’t hurt. Putting aside my hunt for the knife for the time being I went over to the bottle, unscrewing the cap. The smell was sweet, reminding me of the wildflowers that grew outside my house during the summer. Raising the container to my lips I took a few sips.

The liquid was better than the smell, as if the water had been taken from the purest mountain spring. After a few gulps I forced myself to stop. I am going to save some for later.

As I turned back to my original task I started to feel a warmth spread though my body. Pulling on my shirt collar I said, “I feel a bit odd all of a sudden.”

I focused on digging though the drawer for the knife, as I did so the silverware seemed to be getting smaller as I moved it around. I took a few steps back a bit flustered until I realized that it wasn’t just the drawer that was getting smaller, but the whole room.

I looked around in a mix of wonder and fear as I tried to figured out if this was real or not. As my head hit the ceiling fan I started to realize this was in fact reality. I am growing, this is crazy.

Thankfully my clothing seemed to be growing with me, at least no matter how big I became I would have something to wear. I ducked as my head neared the celling. I am starting to get really tall. I wonder what could have…

I looked at the bottle. “You! I had a sneaking suspicion you were too good to be true.” I just hope that the few sips I took won’t make me grow that much.

My back was starting to arch against the ceiling. As I tried to bend down to get some room I knocked over multiple chairs with my knees. “I should think about getting out of here.” I looked to the doorway. “I do hope I can still fit though there though.”

I walked over to the door and knelt down, not only to try and squeeze through but because I could no longer stand up straight. If I stay in here any longer I will have to re arrange my kitchen so I can fit.

I tried to crawl through but my shoulders kept hitting the doorframe and no matter how much I tried to squeeze I could not push myself though. Ok I will just pull my head out before it’s too late.

It was too late though as I had grown right into the doorway. I could feel my body starting to press against the kitchen appliances in the other room even though I was still tucked into a ball. “This is just great.”

Thankfully though the growing effects seemed to stop. I took a collective sigh, happy that I hadn’t caused too much property damage to my home. Well as long as I don’t stretch out. I can feel my body pressing against the walls and freezer as it is. I am worried where my arms and legs will go if I try and relax. How hard can this be? I just wait for this drink’s effects to wear off.

Minutes passed and nothing happed beyond my muscles starting to wear out. Beads of sweat rolled down my face, creating small puddles on the floor. Please, oh please let me shrink back down. I can’t hold this position much longer.

I started to shift around uncomfortably, my joints were starting to kill me. Oh how I wish I could have that bath right about now, or just a soak in a lake considering I was now a giant. Just any to soothe my aching body.

I finally couldn’t take it. With one swift motion I extend my arms and legs. It felt like I was pushing though some kind of putty as my limbs burst though the walls, the house shaking. My right arm flung itself outside into the soft grass while my left arm slid its way into the living room, my hand pushing the couch into what felt like the television.

My right leg found its way into the garage, my foot resting against my car. My other leg found the stairwell to the second floor of the house and slid up the stairwell, the foot resting on the second floor.

I took a few deep breaths, happy that my sudden movement hadn’t brought my home down on top of me. Now what am I going to do?
