Veronica didn't sleep all that well. She'd have no trouble getting through the day, but waking up wasn't exactly pleasurable.
"Good morning!" Amy sounded sunny as ever. Did she know?
"Hey.." Play it cool, Veronica told herself.
"Want some eggs?"
"Uh, yeah, that'd be lovely" She smiled.
Amy hopped around the table, giving Veronica a clear image of her whole body. She was wearing a nighttime camisole and panties, she was still armless, but her left leg was now a small stump that sometimes moved along with her, acting as a counter weight of sorts. Wait, why did Veronica feel the need to reconfirm everything? She knew what she did.
She was constructing a question to ask her to confirm if she knew about the change or not, but what she saw deemed it unnecessary. Amy sat on the counter and manipulated the pan effortlessly.

Veronica remembered the morning after their first night. Amy tried the triple amputee thing then, and she didn't like it at all. Right now, she's behaving utterly different. She was managing to get by without the need to use her opposite knee for leverage. It was easy for her to flip the pan around, and seeing her crack an egg with her toes was totally amazing to Veronica.

Soon enough, Veronica was eating a perfectly fried egg, no broken yokes or anything that'd suggest she lost one of her legs yesterday. She was soon sitting on the table, eating. To her it must have been simple, but Veronica witnessed an intricate balancing act. She didn't need another leg to maintain stability, and for about 5 minutes straight, she balanced perfectly on her butt, despite extending and bending her leg out.

"Heehee, you've hardly touched your eggs"
"Oh, I uh, yeah"
"Is something wrong?"
"Mmm, no. It's just odd to see you balance so well"
"Well, gymnastics!"

She took a few more bits of her eggs, as Veronica went to clean her plate. She did this by holding it in her mouth and hopping over to the sink, carefully dropping it in, then hopping onto the counter and using a rag between her toes to clean it.

"I hope do don't mind my asking.."
"Anything" Amy replied.
"How long have you been like this? A triple amputee?"
"Oh.. I was born this way. Genetics I guess."
"I see"
"It's never been hard, really. This is the only way I've known how to do things."
"Well... What about the detachment bathsoap we've been using?"
"What about it? Teehee, I remember a while ago when you took my leg off. I was so helpless!"
"So you don't remember yesterday?"
"What about yesterday? I was studying in the library"
"Yeah. Yesterday you had two legs"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, you've actually always had arms and two legs until a month or so ago."
"Don't be absurd 'Ron."
"I...I'm sorry"

Veronica found herself leaving Amy's place earlier than usual. They didn't communicate much for much of the week, avoiding each other. Though there was some murmur among classmates about Amy taking things a step further in her subtraction of limbs. She  noticed her a few times hopping around in the hallways, and just as she expected, she appeared to be completely natural.

She consulted Sam and Melissa, who were happy to help. Sam was always passive, but had some pretty good advice. As for Melissa, she was getting better at being all stumps, she didn't seem to have any problem walking around upright on the tips of what remained of her legs.

"Well, maybe you just need to tell her you're sorry" She suggested.
"I think you should give her some time to cool off" Sam said. Veronica was careful to leave out the small detail about Amy forgetting about her limbs.
"I tried to tell her that I was sorry. She just kinda didn't say much afterwards."
"She'll come back 'Ron, don't worry."
"Sigh... Alright, I'll wait a bit. By the way Melissa, you're getting pretty good."
"Thanks!" She said, drinking a water bottle held between the ends of her arm stumps. She then put it down and when back to her dance.
"Uh, Sam, you should know something."
"What's that?"
"Well, that bathsoap we've been using... If you don't put yourself together after 4 weeks for at least a brief amount of time... You start to assume you were born in that way..."
"Oh shit, so is that what really happened?" Veronica earlier told a vague story about calling her fat.
"Yeah, I prodded her a bit and she got upset. I basically told her that her life was a lie" She teared up a tad.
"Well... My point still stands. Give it some time. By the way, this will happen to Melissa too, right?"
"Yeah." She sniffed.
"So... Should I tell her?"
"Well, depends. Do you want to see her move as if she were born that way?"
"It'd be good for her dance project. I guess we just have to be careful."

Another few days passed. Veronica saw Amy once more in the hallways, but she appeared to be sufficiently depressed.

When school was over, Veronica got a call.
"Uh.. Hi 'Ron"
"Oh, how are you doing Amy?"
"I'm... Uh... Can we talk? I'm near the front"
"Oh, I see you, I'll be there shortly"

Veronica could see Amy sitting near the front gate, she seemed to have no problem bringing her foot up to her ear to hold the phone.

"Hi..." Veronica said, rolling up to Amy on her skateboard.
"Hey... Want to come over?"
"Sure"

When they got to her place, they discarded their bags and sat next to each other on the couch. Amy was wearing tight fitting spandex shorts under her skirt, which went half-way towards her knee. Amy brought her remaining knee to her chest.

"I'm sorry about the other day"
"Don't worry about it, I said a terrible thing."
"All is forgiven."

Amy brought her foot up to her mouth and lightly bit her toe. When she had arms, Amy had a tendency to bite her thumb when stressed.

"Is there something else?" Veronica asked.
"well, everyone's been looking at me weird. Something strange is happening."
"How?"
"Well, when I hopped into class, everyone stared at me like my hair was purple."
"I think you're just worried over us, maybe you were stressed about what I said the other day."
"Oh... I guess you're right. I'm sorry Veronica."

She slid over to her and wrapped her leg around Veronica's hip and leaned in for a hug. Veronica was happy the problem was resolved, but she still needed to re-assemble Amy.

"Hmmm, you've been hopping around all day" Veronica said, caressing her only foot.
"Haha, every day!" Her foot didn't look very beaten up, even though its been her only appendage for the last several days.
"How about..."

Veronica began to knead her sole, making circular motions.
"Ahhh.."
She also played with her toes, gently gripping them and pulling.
"Lets make this interesting."

Veronica swung over to the kitchen and grabbed a bowl, then over to the bathroom where she left the soap. She quickly filled the bowl with the water and soap and made her way back to Amy.

"Ohhhh!"
Amy put her foot in the water, which went up the first 1/3rd of her shin. Veronica massaged her calf muscles as the water took effect.

When her foot lost feeling, Veronica was quick to remove it. She grabbed a nearby stool and place the bowl on top, and did the same thing, massaging Amy's thigh as everything below her knee began to lose sensation.

Before they knew it, Amy was limbless, save a few inches of left leg and 6 inches of right, though Veronica wondered why.

Amy carefully slid off the couch and demonstrated. She moved fairly quickly around the room, as she could somehow use the stump of her right leg to elevate herself. It "rolled" somehow as she moved.

"See!"
"Haha, wow!" Veronica clapped.

Soon though, Amy had herself put back together. Though her interpretation of "together" was still "having one leg" Veronica tried to relax, as she'd have her chance soon enough. They then went about their time together as par usual, though Veronica was used to behind hugged from behind by two legs, not just one.

Hours had passed, and it was finally Veronica's time to strike. She quietly slipped from the bed as Amy slept and snuck into her closet.

"Nnnghm" Veronica held her breath, was Amy going to stir?
"Ghmmph" It seemed not.

She found her discarded leg where she left it, and dragged it over to a comatose Amy. It took a bit of cleverness, but she was able to drag it up without making much noise. She stuck it into her hip socket, connecting easily.

"Bffrmgh"

Veronica went back for the arms, which were still cold and unmoved. Showed how often Amy cleaned her closet. The draped both of them over her shoulders at the elbow and swung herself back to Amy and connected them to her shoulders. Or at least she tried.

"What the hell?" Veronica thought to herself. She touched the ends to her shoulders, but nothing happened.
"Fffmph"
"Ugh, I'm such an idiot" She was trying to put her left arm on her right shoulder and vice-versa. Her arms connected after she reversed them.

Veronica was thoughouly tired and relieved. She fell asleep as soon as she hit the pillow.

"Um... Veronica?"
"Nnngh" Sunlight poured through the window.
"Veronica?"
"Ngh. Yeah?"
"I... I have my arms and legs back.."
"Yeah. Do you remember how to use them?"
"Yeah, I do."
"Do you remember the last several weeks?"
"Yes.."
"So... How do you feel?"
"I can't believe I actually thought I was born like that."
"Phew."

Veronica let herself fall back on the pillow in relief.

"I was really worried Amy. Are you mad at me for not telling you?"
"Well, I'm not sure."
"I thought it'd just mean that you'd get really good at using your feet. I didn't think it'd be this weird. I'm sorry for messing with you like that."
"Well, it's clearly reversible." Amy moved closer to Veronica, wrapping her arms around her.
"I also forgot what that felt like, to hold someone"
"You did forget!"
Amy laughed. "I guess I did!"

Amy carried Veronica towards the kitchen in the seat of her arms. Amy was complete for the first time in weeks, though Veronica was legless. Cereal was poured.

Part way through their bowls, Veronica became curious.

"I just realized something. Can you still use your toes?"
"Uhh..."
Amy left her spoon in the bowl and dropped her arms to her sides. Effortlessly, she brought her knees to her chest, extended her feet outwards, rested her ankles on the edge of the table, then grabbed the spoon with her toes and took a spoonful to her mouth.
"Wow. I didn't forget any of it."
"Woooow, that's so cool Amy." Veronica leaned sideways to hug her.
"I'm trying to think of all the neat things I can do now..."
"Yeah! You effectively have 4 hands now."

They soon finished eating... With their hands. After washing up, Amy wanted to show Veronica her study.

"I haven't actually seen where you study since school started." Veronica said, swinging into the room.
"Heehee, I moved the keyboard down, here."

Amy had moved her keyboard under her desk. It was so she could type without having to bring her feet all the way up to the table. Her mouse was down there too.

"Hmmm..."

She unplugged the mouse, repositioned it so it was on top of her desk. She also put her books and notes where her keyboard would usually be. It looked just like any other desk now, other than the unusual placement of the keyboard.

"I gotta see this."
Amy just smiled. She opened a blank document and opened a book. From Amy's perspective, she couldn't see the keyboard under her desk. She focused on the words in her book, and typed while holding it with her hands. Her toes briefly felt around for the bumps on the "F" and "J" keys, then typed underneath the desk, noisily tacking away. Veronica looked underneath and saw every toe being used, she probably typed faster with her feet since all 10 toes were dedicated to letters. Her heel went down slightly when she needed to use the spacebar, meaning the middle of her sole struck the long key our thumbs would normally be reserved for.

"Wow, just wow."
Amy could only laugh. She was just as surprised as Veronica that she retained her motor skills.
"What about... The piano?"

Amy didn't put as much time into piano as Veronica did, but she was still somewhat competent.
"I prefer using my hands, but some of those Rachmaninov chords make me think..."
Amy set both hands on the keys, though her right foot was raised as well, her toes resting in position. Her other foot stayed near the floor to operate the pedals. She played the song quite decently, though every once in a while, she'd use a few toes to get the last two or three notes she couldn't quite reach.

"I think I need to give this armlessness thing a go" Veronica said, keeping her eyes on Amy's hands and feet.
"I'm not sure if it can really be that useful, at least I don't have to worry about relearning everything if I take my arms off again"

They were soon back in the kitchen, sitting around (or on) the counter top. Amy typed something on her phone's keyboard as she balanced on one leg, using her other foot to open the fridge and retrieve a jug of water. Veronica didn't realize she was staring.

"I'm having a hard time finding uses for this" Amy gave a mocking smile of indifference.

They both took a few silent sips of water.

"So... You're okay with me? You don't mind the fact that I didn't tell you about the side effect of the bathsoap?"
"I still feel a little weird about it, but everything clear now. I'm back to normal, and I know you didn't mean to hurt me. I still love you."
Veronica sighed. "I love you too."

Veronica pulled herself onto Amy's lap and kissed her. They admired the texture of each others lips for a few moments before Veronica gently pulled Amys head to her chest.

"Oh! What about Melissa?" Amy realized, pulling herself back.
"Uh, same thing I guess."
"Does Sam know?"
"Yeah, I told him to play it cool around her if she started to act weird."
"I feel a little odd about that, Melissa acting as if she's been all stumps her whole life."
"I think we should let it be, at least until after her dance project is finished. Just try to be tactful."
"Alright." Amy exhaled, touching her forehead against Veronicas.

Monday came, and by now, Amy and 'Ron decided to have all their limbs in place. Other than shaking her legs a bit after putting them back on, Veronica had absolutely no loss of motor skills. Interestingly, they both got almost as many stares as they did when they first came to school missing body parts. Everyone had became used to them.

Soon, they saw Melissa in the studio, stretching. She wore a pair of short-shorts and a fitted tank top, and seemed to have socks covering her leg stumps, revealing only an inch or so of skin on her legs. It seemed to be her approximation of thigh-highs. She stretched on the wood-panelled floor, sliding slowly into a straddle split, her arm stumps supporting her lightened body.

"Looking good, Melissa!" Amy shouted.
"Oh, hey guys!" Melissa straightened up and waved one of her arm stumps. She leaned forward, shifting her weight, and managed to "stand" up on her leg stumps. She waddled/walked towards the girls.
"Can you handle yourself at home?" Veronica asked.
"Pretty well, actually." Amy sat next to her on the stage. "I've only had help washing my back, otherwise, I've figured out how to do a lot of things! Even- Ah!"
"You're soooo kyuuute! You're like a teddy bear!" Amy lifted her by her underarms and into a hug, supporting her butt with one arm, the other resting on her back.
"Ahh!"
"Teehee!" Amy put her back down.

It had been about two week since Melissa removed her limbs.
"Can you write?"
"Actually, you'd be surprised, Sam!" Sam came running over, seemingly out of nowhere.
"Sam has been helping me out a bit, I'm just too slow at moving through the hallways." Sam pulled out a notebook and pen.
"Check this out."

Melissa leaned forwards and took the pen between her arm stumps. She appeared to struggle a little bit, but after writing a sentence, it seemed that her writing was more than legible.

"That's quite impressive" Amy said. "I thought I was onto something when I wrote with my toes, but you don't even have digits of any kind."
Melissa just smiled.

Veronica looked at her watch. "I have a class starting soon. When's your big dance?"
"Two weeks from now!" She said, brushing her hair away with her tiny arm.
"Alright, I can't wait to see what you come up with!" What Veronica said had more than one meaning. She was excited.
