With each turn of his pages, Barry grew more and more uncomfortable. It wasn't solely due to his body becoming quite the number of independent feeling pages, nor the roughness with which his girlfriend Mary used him, but with how inanimate he truly felt, especially since this whole thing started out of his love for her.

Having never liked to see her troubled he had decided to help her as musch as he he could. As such it was only natural to lend a hand out during her finals, especially with how much she stressed over them and how she could get him to do anything.

Ultimately she convinced him that to really help her she would transform him into a textbook for her to study. Albeit hard to sell, she knew that Barry would do anything for her. So, after he agreed she transformed her boyfriend into one. He was quite helpful.

It was almost as if he were imbued with some magical force causing anything she read in him to really stick in her head. In addition to her personal studies, she had begun going with a study group. In said group was a woman named Lara.

She was really something, anytime the group would hang out Mary would spend her time mostly in awe of her. It ultimately reached a point where the two started seeing each other more and more, and, well, her boyfriend was currently just a textbook so…

Barry had no idea that was happening, his mind was in no shape to think about it anyway. Since becoming this form his body had been on fire, with all the constant contact his body was making with itself it was driving him crazy.

Not only that but the boringness of this. Whenever his girlfriend wasn’t using him he was forced to be motionless, just another inanimate textbook. He did somewhat notice how often Lara would be at their house but it was still a surprise when she told him.

The two women had started dating and well, she had no use for him as a boyfriend anymore. She now had another partner after all. Although, she still needed him as a textbook so she made a comprise.

She felt it would be too mean to make him into a human again just to break up with him so she decided she was going to keep him like this. He was in shock but there was nothing he could do about that. He was now just her textbook, no matter the inner human characteristics he still had.
