Walking around the bare house Addie was explaining how good the property was. “My house has two expansive bedrooms with decently large closets, a good wifi connection, and is perfect for a young couple like you two. It’s relatively cheap, but if you can’t afford it, I’m sure we can work out a deal.”
Now was the point that led to most possible renters refusing to lease her house. “I’m not a very strict landlord, whatever you want to hang up around the house is good with me and you don’t really have to keep your noise down. Although, I’m very particular about my payment. Once you move in we’ll arrange a date each month for you to pay your lease.”
“But, after we set it in stone, you better make sure to pay it then. I’ll kick you out faster than you’d think after a few late payments, hell, if you miss them long enough you’ll find out how I get my payment out of you. My last renter is working off hers right now.” Addie then popped her heel out of her flat, drawing attention to it.
Sara was one of her most lazy renters. After gaining her assurance she proceeded to miss most of the payments in her first year renting the house. Initially, after this Addie was going to give her due punishment, but at that point she was still forgiving. She was less so after a further 18 months of missed payment days.
No matter what, Sara was always anywhere from a week to a month late with her fee. Covering the amenities of the house this bit into Addie's own savings, which she was admittedly willing to give up, at least for a little bit of time. But after two and a half years of this she was done, she just had to decide what to do with her.
Admittedly Sara’s current form only came to her after a long time of thinking, although, it was certainly perfect. If she could walk over her in regards to her rent, why couldn’t she do the same physically? Sara was little more than a pair of flats, cheap, like her, yet still comfortable. She had been wearing her since her last missed payment, almost five months ago.
Now she was warning her next tenants, be late on your rent, and into her closet you went. Not permanently though, only for how long you missed your payments. Whether that be a month, or five, or, in Sara’s case, two and a half years, it was long, sure, but it was exactly what she deserved. Besides, why should she care about her, she was now just a comfortable pair of shoes.
