When it came to Living Threads, the lower you went down on the human body the higher the employee’s paycheck grew. If you wanted to get lots of money fast, all you would need to do was get a job in the footwear department. Although, the job wasn’t for the faint of heart.
Sure, being a bra would be disorienting but it was enjoyable. I don’t think most people would complain if they were paid to be wrapped around a woman’s breasts all day. The same couldn’t be said about being socks or shoes. You would be worn on one of the most disgusting parts of the human body, and the third most (aside from asses and armpits).
Forced to taste differing amounts of acrid foot sweat from wildly different people. One day a fitness nut might wear you, the next a housewife. Furthermore, you would have to deal with the constant stepping and pressure constantly impacting your new form. Only the most resilient people could keep their jobs.
Most newbies in the footwear department would quit after their first time being rented out. However, those who could handle their time underfoot were rewarded with a healthy paycheck. In the footwear department, there were about 327 currently staffed employees, out of an estimated 43,223 people who couldn’t handle the pressure.
Unlike most departments at Living Threads, the footwear department was mostly comprised of cis-males. Although, there were a few women. Not as many as other departments, but there still were some. They showed the most resilience out of everybody employed at Living Threads.

It was quite common for Lenna to be rented out as sneakers, it was her highest-rated form. She had been rented by all manner of people and for varying lengths. 1 day, 3 weeks, 6 months, and even longer. She had been worn by active men, runners, sporty people, average people, and young women. Out of everyone who had worn her, the most common type was young women about her age. Lenna understood why. She knew most women her age loved wearing comfortable footwear and she was the highest rated employee in the footwear department.
Walking into work she was greeted with the news of who her next wearer was to be. Courtney, a 20-something from Connecticut. She was to be a pair of sneakers of her for 2 ½ weeks. Getting into her transformation pod, Lenna became a new pair of sneakers. Within the next few hours, she was boxed and shipped to her. She arrived on her doorstep 5 business days later.
Courtney was ecstatic when she saw that her package had come. She had wanted to try out Living Threads for a while now but, due to how expensive it was to rent one of their employees, she never could, at least until now. Cutting open the box she was met with a rather innocuous pair of sneakers. They looked normal. Although on the ‘tongue’ of the shoe was a tag for the company, just in case an employee ever was lost.
Taking out the tissue paper from inside her, she tried her now. This was the part that Lenna was always nervous about. It was time to see how the feet she was going to ‘enjoy’ for the next few weeks were going to taste. Feeling Courntey’s feet enter her bodies she instinctively knew that she was going to be in for an easy ride. They were decently cared for, not as bad or as good as some feet she had in her before, and weren’t overtly disgusting. They were average, not too salty, and not too unbearable.
Walking around in her, it was hard for Courtney to believe that she was wearing a human. Lenna was comfortable, almost as if she was made for her, and she looked like any other pair of sneakers. Her feet were going to be in heaven for the next 2 ½ weeks. She was going to be great to wear to the gym. Pulling her phone out she snapped a pic of her wearing Lenna, Living Threads did like to have pictures included with the reviews it got.
