Hikari Himura is a licensed magical girl, born and raised in Matsushita City. Using a magical amulet passed down from her ancestors who are said to have slain and banished youkai in Sengoku-era Japan, she is quite possibly one of the most straight up powerful magical girls in the city - she has more magical power in herself and her amulet than most teams do spread between them, and can smite villains almost by accident. Now, why isn’t she the most well known woman in the city?
There’s two problems, one of them a bit harder to explain the other. The first one… well, it’s her personality. She’s not a bad person. Far from it. If anything, she could use a bit more cynicism. She’s pure to a fault, no matter what she sees or what happens to her. And… how to put this politely… Well, she’s near the top of her class academically. But if she were an RPG character, Wisdom would be her dump stat. She is extraordinarily gullible as long as it doesn’t involve taking her amulet (at the mere suggestion of which she will usually transform and flatten the offender), because she believes the best in nearly everyone and the thought someone might lie to her doesn’t cross her mind. If the villain is sane enough not to introduce themselves as such, it’s even odds if she ever realizes they’re a bad guy before she ends up as a high powered minion. She generally needs somebody to keep her on track, or else it’s best to just get out of the blast zone.
The second issue… is that she is kinda, sorta, possessed by an interdimensional supervillainess. She’s frankly not sure how that happened. So what happened, was the villainess had set up an obviously evil dark magic ritual, and was not shy about talking about it. Hikari had been in the area and, obviously, went after her. She blasted her way through some minions, was pretty trivial, and got the magic circle… and, well, she solved the issue the way she solves many of her issues. Overwhelming firepower, which, it turns out does not play nice with an intricate and more importantly delicate spell. When she woke up from the backblast, the villainess was gone, there was a white streak in her hair, and she had an angry lady in her mind.
Even with said megalomaniac hanging around in her mind, she does her best to maintain her heroic ideals and job - which given her frankly excessive power, works out reasonably well even if her body’s a bit of a timeshare at the moment. She and the villainess alternate control semi-regularly, whenever they build up enough power to keep control for a few days to a week.
