Gerard Greco, famous (in his own mind at least) bard and hero, had traveled quite a long way. He’d finally found the object of his search: The Dragon Mountains, home of the dragon-people tribes. The village at the foot of the mountain had been a fairly good place to stock up, even if they all laughed at his stated goal. He’d gotten all the food he’d need for a round trip, his instrument, and a bag of gold with which to encourage whatever dragon he met first not to eat him. The wrong way at least.
His was a goal that would resonate with any bard worthy of the name, any man of good taste. He had heard tell of how dragons were willing to breed with any intelligent species and had come to see the truth with his own eyes, and hopefully more. It would be a grand tale of the conquest of the savage heart, told in taverns the world over! It would grow in the telling, of course - perhaps by the time it had made it’s circuit through the taverns they’d say he saved their people and taken the princess as his bride in reward. Dreams (or delusions) of grandeur filled his mind and heart and fortified him for the trek up the steep path.
By a bit past mid-day, Gerard felt he was being watched, a pair of suspicious or perhaps angry eyes boring into him from behind. He looked around with all due care and thoroughness, but there wasn’t a sign of who might be doing so. It made him quite excited, actually. This high in the mountains there wouldn’t be any brigands waiting in ambush - nobody came here and the dragons would chase them away even if they dared try and set up camp. There might be other travelers passing through, but again, that was quite rare. Which left the options of some particularly intent birds or some dragons; he hoped it was a cute girl.
He was maybe half up the mountain when he camped for the night, making sure to set up a good and noticeable campfire, to get a good nice smelling roast going, and to leave his sack of gold partly open at his side; if his watcher was a dragon indeed, they would never be able to resist the chance.
He’d settled down on the ground and was beginning to nod off when there was a flap of leathery wings overhead. Looking up, a shadow circled overhead, blocking the stars where it passed. It was getting closer, and closer. Gerard stood with glee. “Hello, dragonkin! I come bearing gifts!” he called above.
Metti, a red-scaled dragonwoman, had been tracking this prey since he’d left the mountain base village. Those humans were smart; they knew to leave their offerings on roofs and such and stray no further up the mountain. They had surely warned the traveller of his stupid course of action, but well, humans could be quite stupid when they decided what they were doing, especially the men. He probably assumed that whatever business he had would protect him, or maybe he thought himself a great warrior. Maybe he was, but as he set up camp for the night and went to sleep, she was quite sure that even the greatest soldier in history would not be able to fight off a dragon in his sleep. And he’d even left a sack of gold next to him, which practically had her drooling.
So she started her approach, circling above and beginning to descend - and dropped a good three feet out of surprise when he called out to her. “Hello, dragonkin! I come bearing gifts!” a voice shouted from below. Metti managed to recover herself and fly down with dignity, finding the man - completely unarmed! - standing and waiting for her with a dumb grin on his face. She managed to land well, and tried to look intimidating and imperious. Which, given she was a red dragon, usually worked on other dragons due to their comparative strengths… but not so much on humans, because they just saw the short redhead with hair longer than she was tall, and a cute face with some scales and such added on.
The man smiled, and bowed theatrically. “Ah, milady, a pleasure to meet a true dragon such as yourself. I am the bard Gerard Greco, and bring gifts for you to allow me passage!”
Metti sniffed. At least this one seemed to be giving her the proper respect so far. “I am the Red Dragon Metti, and I will see your offering.” she said, putting on her best imperial tone.
“Yes, yes, of course.” Gerard said, opening the sack. Indeed, there was quite a lot of gold inside. Metti was a somewhat progressive dragon, when it came to pillaging; she had reasoned that it’s better to let people live and extract tribute on any who passed or lived in your domain, than to fry them and take their treasure once. She had gone through the process before.
“Hm. Quite a lot of gold. Do you plan to offer tribute to every dragon you pass? It will not last you when you get to the Yellows’ territory, they are more on the ‘pillage and burn’ side of things.”
Gerard smiled in a slightly annoying way. “No, no, it’s all for whichever beauty would see me first. You’re the lucky dragon.”
...Gods, but that sounded fishy. Gold was gold though. “...Well, this is rather too heavy for me to bring to my cave alone, then. You’ll be willing to bring it yourself, then?”
Gerard grinned widely in an even more annoying way, and Metti shivered a bit, although she didn’t let him see that. “Yes, yes, of course milady, I’d love to!”
The walk to the cave, which conveniently wasn’t far, was rather irritating. She could feel him staring at her butt, her tail, as she walked. Damned humans, this was why she didn’t like them… sure she appreciated that he hadn’t decided to call her ‘cute’ but she was considering frying him on principle.
In the central chamber of the cave was the most important part of a dragon’s home: the hoard, a pile of gold, silver, gems, and more that represented all their most precious things. It doubled as a bed, if one was tough enough to sleep on metal. “Leave the gold here, while I go and get you a token of my protection; should keep the dragons off of you as you pass through…”
“Oh, you can stop the excuses, my dear…” Gerard said. Metti turned to him, and frowned. “I’ve heard tell of how beautiful draconic maidens reward gifts…”
Oh. Oh he was this kind of human. Metti internally sighed and externally snorted a little fire, her tail drooping a little in disappointment. “...Is that so. Ah, I understand perfectly.” Well, screw the gold, he was going to get a burn - no, that was too good for him, he was getting to be the test subject for the last donation she’d gotten from a real visitor - a wizard from afar who had simply wanted to study draconic magic, and offered an artifact up to custom specifications in return. “Hm. Yes. I’ll prepare myself in the other room, if you do not mind waiting. While you do so, I do believe I have an artifact that should help you handle the task. That armlet over there -” she gestured to a gem-studded golden armlet - “will help if you put it on. Make yourself comfortable.”
With that, she went to another chamber of the cave… which would have a secret viewing hole into the hoard room, so she could watch what happened.
Gerard grinned as he swaggered his way to the hoard. Being left alone in the hoard room and trusted not to take anything? Dragongirls really were as easy as all the rumors said! Just throw them a sack of gold, easy enough to get when you go adventuring, and they’d do whatever you want. He’d hoped maybe for a more mature looking one, but this one was cute enough!
He was kinda tempted to take something from the hoard, but well, he was a horny bastard, not a suicidal one; he’d given a gift, but dragons weren’t ones to forgive a theft no matter who it was. So he stuck with the enchanted artifact that had been pointed out to him, and quickly slipped it on. He’d heard dragongirls would be pretty rough - rough enough to need magical fortification was an exciting thought.
As the armband settled around his upper arm, he felt stronger already. Gerard made a few flexing poses of his admittedly noodly arms - the man was a bard, not a knight - and settled in to wait on a golden chair that was in the pile.
As he waited, he started to fantasize about Metti; the cute dragon-lady who he was going to bed. She’d come sauntering back in having bathed and readied herself for a round, and discarded the plain leather loincloth and chest-strap that made up the bulk of her clothes. He could practically see it now, she’d play coy, but she’d clearly want him, and then he’d walk up to her and she’d play at wanting control, but obviously was submissive at heart…
As the man started to really get into the thick of his fantasies, he didn’t realize that the armband had begun to have a strange effect. While he’d never been the most masculine in figure, his body had begun to shrink in some places, body slimming down in some places and expanding in others until his figure resembled that of an hourglass. His hair, already long for a man, started to grow out past his shoulders and began to change color.
He felt strangely hot inside, and was having a rather good time with his fantasy of how he’d make love to the dragoness in the other room, continuing to be unaware as his chest ballooned outward, as did his ass; if he’d been actually acting on the fantasy he’d have been aware of something in his crotch fading away, but he was trying to save his stamina for the coming night. Or rather, she was, now. In a few minutes, Gerard had become a woman - a rather attractive one at that, with a pretty face, an impressive figure, long blue hair, and some heavily inflamed lust. As she stripped out of her clothes, justifying it to herself as preparing for Metti and still unaware, she found herself with a new urge.
The urge to get closer to the hoard; Metti had told her to make herself comfortable right? Well right now comfort would come from the hoard. She eased herself onto the gold and silver coins, shuddering with pleasure as they touched bare skin. It wasn’t bare for long though; as she started to sink into it, roll around in the treasure like it was some massive bed, the new woman began to change. It started around her chest, spreading out from there: a growth of blue scales, small at first and developing more and more as she reveled in the hoard, in the sheer heat inside of her.
The scales spread, the same shade as her hair, as she pleasured herself in the pile. It felt so damn good, better than it had any right to, that she didn’t notice the scales or the creaking of new bones shifting into place as tiny wings started to grow out of her back and rapidly expanded to become less tiny, and as a tail pushed its way out of her cushiony bottom. The armband vanished from her arm, and reappeared on her new tail. She couldn’t help but scream in pleasure as the change completed, and she ceased to be human, instead a full dragon-woman.
It was around this point that Mettis decided to come in having watched the whole thing with ill disguised pleasure. It had worked exactly as the witch had told her! She would have to thank her properly if she ever returned. She returned to the chamber to see the new, panting dragon girl recover from her first orgasm, and looking down at herself in wonder at what had happened. “Genasi!” she called, having come up with her new name on the spot.
The blue dragon shot to her feet and turned to Mettis - and in her face, was clearly confused why she did so, not noticing the new tail-band glowing faintly. “Wha- that’s not- what?”
“That’s your name now, Genasi.” Mettis said cheerfully, walking towards her and inspecting the merchandise. “I came up with it while I watched you transform.”
“Trans...transform?” Genasi stammered, “I’m not that, my name is Genas- Ge-” she couldn’t actually say her old name, physically; she didn’t even remember what it was. “What did you do to me?”
“I paid you back for your disrespect. You thought that if you gave a dragoness gold, she would lay with you just like that? You’re lucky it was I and not one of the others who found you, or you would have been roasted alive, if you were fortunate.” Mettis flashed a wicked grin. “Tell me how lucky you are.”
“The luckiest dragonwoman in the world!” Genasi said cheerfully, then clapped a hand over her mouth. “You… turn me back!”
Mettis laughed. “Ha! I haven’t the slightest clue how, not that I would if I did.” Gods damn though… Genasi had been a man before, and she had a significantly more developed figure than her new mistress. Well, she’d work with that. “Genasi, be a dear and get on your knees.” She said. The blue haired dragon did so, although she clearly tried to fight it. A pair of hands rested on her head. “Now, Genasi, I’ll be a kind mistress, and give you what you want. A submissive dragon girl. Pleasure your mistress. And enjoy it.”
In the weeks following, the village at the foot of the mountain drank in remembrance of the crazy bastard bard who’d passed through before, on a mission doomed for failure. Or rather, told tall tales of all the preparations he had made and how comedic his failure must have been. The next time Mettis arrived in town for her tribute (the villagers gave it gladly; she asked for far less than the “your money or your life” bandits that would otherwise plague such a small village), she was accompanied by a rather sexy blue dragon who she declared was her concubine. While she had her meeting with the mayor, Genasi was given the run of the town; she was soft spoken and humble, but when one of the drunker bachelors of the town had gotten grabby, she’d responded with shocking lust. The single men of the town, after that event, thoroughly looked forward to the monthly tribute; gold for the red dragon, and something else entirely for the blue.
