Trust Machines - Welcome to the Carnival, pt 4
The next two weeks developed into a routine amongst the trio. Kyle learned his
way around the immediate area of Las Vegas, while Keri and Tasha helped him
adjust to life there. He managed to find his way to the DMV and get his license
transferred along with the car plates, and started establishing a presence. He
transferred his funds to a local bank, which meant dealing with paperwork over
the amount being transferred.
The one routine that would have been slightly out of the ordinary was a nightly
visit to Boulevard Mall and the Venn Machine. Kyle was adamant that he had to
get used to changing forms as well as learning how to use the device to change
someone else. The gals would switch as subjects, occasionally with results that
were... unexpected. Such as one night he tried to turn Keri into a tigress,
only she ended up as a four-armed, green and golden furred tigress'taur with six
legs and two tails. She actually liked the form, and decided to keep it for the
evening.
His own changes were kept as close to normal as possible. Tasha and Keri would
trade off changing him, so one night he might be a variation of that first wolf
morph. Another night would find him having feathers and wings instead of arms,
while a third night he might be a panther. Each change would bring its own set
of senses and pleasures, and Kyle began to grasp why the gals enjoyed the
transformations so much.
Despite Kyle's original designs along with his intentions not to push himself
into Keri and Tasha's relationship, the two gals made it clear that he was going
to be part of their fun, including fun in bed. He found himself waking up every
morning with the two sprawled against him or on him, after an evening of some
fairly intense sexual play, often in the shapes they had taken the evening
before. Initially he tried to deflect their intentions, but with it being two
against one, Kyle gave in to the inevitable.
After a few days experience, Kyle was becoming fairly competent working the
interface, treating the various bubbles in the same fashion as his mix board.
The effort in changing Keri or Tasha's form was much like mixing a song when he
was doing the club DJ bit back home. The changes he'd create became more and
more intricate, sometimes with surprising results.
Hi attitudes and feelings felt different from when he had arrived in Vegas,
that much was clear. He didn't know if it was something about the gals or
whether something had changed in him, but he decided to bring it up that
evening.
---
It was Tasha's turn to fix dinner, and she went with a more typical southwestern
style for the evening. Fajitas, quesadillas, and refried beans were the choices
for the meal, which everyone appreciated. Once everyone had eaten their fill,
by common agreement they went into the living room to relax for a while.
Kyle felt comfortable enough that he finally broached the subject that had been
on his mind all day.
"Do you mind if I ask you two some personal questions?"
Neither Keri or Tasha objected. "Ky, you can ask anything you want of us,"
Tasha replied. "You know we're open with you."
Kyle nodded slowly. "Well, you two have been using Venn Machines for how long??
At least a year?"
"Closer to two, Keri said, setting her drink on the coffee table. "They started
showing up then, and that's when I met Tasha, over at the Fashion Show Mall,
where one of the first ones appeared."
"And you've been using the machines since then?"
Tasha nodded. "We found out that we both liked being changed, and that we had a
lot in common. It also helped that we were compatible in bed, and well, since
then we've shared most everything."
"Even lovers?"
Keri laughed. "Sometimes. We lost a lot of our old friends, but there's a
small group of us who will sometimes get together." She winked at Kyle. "We'll
try to find out when they're meeting again, and take you along. You'll like a
lot of them, they're into the club scene here."
Tasha giggled. "There was this time we decided to be males and went clubbing.
Ended up taking this pair of catgirls home with us, have a grand old time with
them both, then found out later on that they were twin males who had decided to
try the other sex for a weekend."
"So you've been male?" Kyle blinked, then remembered. "Oh, that's right, you
mentioned it earlier," he said to Tasha. "And you enjoyed it?"
"It's different from being female, but the end result is the same. Having a
good time with a lover, even if it's just mad passionate sweaty sex." Tasha
grinned, ducking as Keri tossed one of the couch pillows at her.
"You should talk, considering how often you want me to turn you into a vibrator
or a condom."
Kyle listened to them describing some of their more outrageous times, managing
to keep himself from reacting from the stories. To him it seemed impossible,
the various things they mentioned, but given his own experiences now, maybe they
weren't quite so impossible.
"Of course, the one thing we haven't had a chance to do is merge together," Keri
said finally. "I've known two who have done it, they say it's one of the most
incredible times they've had."
Kyle rubbed his temples, trying to keep his head from hurting at that bit. "You
two would want to be one? Isn't that dangerous? From a mental aspect?"
"Not really," Tasha said. "Only one person is in charge of the body, but both
minds can feel everything. Usually they're folks who are close to begin with,
and wouldn't mind sharing for a while."
Keri caught an odd expression on Kyle's face. "You ok?" she asked. Kyle
nodded, holding up his hand as a 'hold on a second' sort of signal.
"Sorry, just had KTMI kick in there."
Tasha giggled. "KTMI?"
"Too Much Information Radio."
---
Kyle had set up his mix board and keyboard in the spare room, where he could
work in private for the most part. It wasn't like at home, when he could
retreat to the barn to lose himself in his music, the techno tracks that touched
his emotions and feelings. The arguments with his parents had only intensified
as he grew older, their thinking being that this was just a phase and that he'd
return back to where he belonged, working the farm and passing it down to the
next generation of Elliots.
He tried not to think about that, instead focusing his mind on the music and
mixing the sounds together into a coherent whole. He worked the sounds around
that played in his ears, lowering the bass here, adding a bit of reverb there,
replaying the track until he was satisfied with the results. He touched the
record button and saved his work to a USB drive, then slipped off the headphones
from his head. He turned around, and found Tasha standing just inside the room,
smiling slightly.
"Do you know how much of a different person you are when you're in here?" she
noticed, walking over to look over his mixing board. "When you're in here,
working with your music, you're more open and relaxed."
Kyle had to smile at that. "It's not really that much different, I'd think. I
just feel happier around the music. Like the way some folks get into working on
cars, or computers."
"I knew someone like that," Tasha said after a moment. "He was real hyped on
race cars, you could swear he slept with an engine at night." Kyle laughed at
that image, and Tasha grinned. "Last I heard from some friends, he had gotten
an offer with the Haas Racing team."
Kyle nodded. "Ever see 'October Sky'? Or read the book 'Rocket Boys?'"
Tasha shook her head. "No, I don't recall either."
Kyle chuckled. "Both are about the same subject, a young kid living in rural
country and looking for a way to escape that rural life and make a name for
himself. So he and a group of his friends started building rockets... and he
ends up becoming a NASA engineer."
"Sounds a lot like what you're trying to do," Tasha pointed out.
"Just a little." His mood switched gears. "Care to see the gear? I don't
think I've showed you what I'm using.
Tasha came over and whistled a bit in appreciation. "Oh, you've got some nice
gear here."
Kyle chuckled. "It's good enough for what I use it for, which is the occasional
club DJ gig I used to get back home." He showed off the gear to Tasha, the
Soundcraft mixing board, Gemini CD/Media controllers and Korg keyboard, all of
which fit into a custom case for transporting about. Tasha could hear the
difference in Kyle's tone, the passion he had for the music.
"That's why you wanted to come down here for Electric Daisy Carnival, isn't
it?" she finally said. "To be with those who share you love of the music."
"That's a good part of it, yes," he admitted. "And to try and see if I could
make any headway in getting just a toe into the club scene here. From what I'd
read, Vegas is one of the best venues for up and coming artists."
"You just didn't expect to deal with other aspects of life here, did you?" she
teased.
"No, I didn't." Kyle shook his head. "I guess I'd better be mentally braced
for it when EDC rolls around. From what I've already seen, life's going to be
more insane than usual."
"Las Vegas is always insane," Tasha pointed out. "It comes with the territory."
---
"So, think you're ready to take the next step?"
Keri watched Kyle's reaction as he drove them over to Boulevard Mall, for the
nightly use of the Venn Machine. Tasha was also curious, leaning in from the
back seat.
Kyle passed a slow-moving truck, then thought about the question. "I suppose I
am," he said slowly. "It's been a week, and I think I'm finally getting used to
the changes. Mostly," he added, remembering what they had done to him the night
previous.
"That's good! Because I have a few shapes I want to try out on you," Tasha
said. "Want you to look your best for EDC."
Kyle had to laugh at that. "Going to be hard to beat some of those folks with
their outfits and forms."
"Don't worry, we'll blend right in."
Kyle chuckled, then pulled into the main lot around the mall. He found a
parking spot close enough to the entrance where the Venn Machine was, and they
all piled out of the car and headed to the doors.
"Now, whatever you do, don't try to be too shocked," Tasha teased. "We're going
to have fun tonight."
They walked over to the Venn Machine, and Tasha waved Kyle into a booth. "I'm
just going to change you first, that way you won't be too surprised."
"Whatever works," he said, and went into the booth. Tasha winked at Keri, who
knew what Tasha had planned, then Tasha went into the other booth.
Before long, Tasha had Kyle's new look ready, and touched the green circle.
Kyle felt the familiar sensation of everything seeming to freeze, then suddenly
found his vision doubled. He turned his head... and was looking through both
sets of eyes at himself. "Whoa, now that's surreal," both muzzles said at the
same time.
The door opened, and he stepped out as a two-headed dragon morph. His scales
were soft and pliable, and the colors cascaded across his body, constantly
shifting on their own. "I look like something out of a psychedelic trip," he
commented, getting giggles out of both gals.
"Now, our turn," and with that Keri went into the vacant booth while Tasha went
back into her booth. Kyle waited patiently for them to change, noticing one
person walking past the Venn Machine. That person paid no attention to Kyle,
but it gave Kyle the opportunity to see how much control he had over both heads,
finding out he could be looking in opposite directions and still have complete
control.
The doors disappeared, and a cute black-haired oriental girl came out of Keri's
booth. She had short cropped hair that was a rainbow of colors, as well as four
arms and four breasts. She grinned and gave a bow to Kyle, then went over into
Tasha's booth, coming out with something in her hand. She placed it into her
purse, then went up to Kyle.
"Ok, we're ready," she said with an Asian lilt to her voice.
"Where's Tasha?" Kyle asked.
Keri giggled. "She's in my purse."
"She's what??" Kyle blinked in startlement.
"She's in my purse," Keri repeated. "She's a condom now. Your condom."
Kyle was too shocked at that to even reply. Instead, he turned and started
walking towards the exit, Keri following behind, puzzled. "Is something wrong?"
she asked.
"We'll talk about it later," was his cryptic response.
