“Hey Vance!” called Dan as the new couple approached their friends at the food court. “Thanks for the idea.”
Vance blinked repeatedly. “What idea?”
“I told him about your screwing the brain idea,” giggled Marsh.
Dan nodded enthusiastically. “Works great. Such a weird feeling, and we set it up so that it actually messes with your mind when you do it. Trippy as all get out.”
Vance continued to blink owlishly. “That’s...”
“It’s the reason Dan and I have long hair right now,” giggled Jeff. “So fun.” Jeff was looking more androgynous than usual, and went so far as to turn their back toward Vance and part their long blonde hair to reveal a very innocuous looking slit just above the nape of their neck.
“Doesn’t look like much,” mused Marsh. “Trying to keep it secret?”
“Yeah. It’s so fucking kinky I could just explode.”
Vance snickered and sat down. “I bet Dan could arrange that, too.”
Jeff’s eyes lit up. “Ooooh.”
“Speaking of oooh,” said Sasha, “let me see that ring again.”
Sasha, Charlie and Jeff all cooed over the ring. “It’s so sparkly,” exclaimed Charlie. “Must have cost a mint.”
Marsh frowned at that, and glanced over at her sweetie. “How did you afford this, anyway?”
“I kinda raided the ‘Vette fund. Wiped it out, more like. No worries, I got a raise last month, and it’ll fill up in time.”
“Especially when I start paying rent,” declared Marsh. “And yet...” She got a distant look, and a grin started to form on her lips. The others asked what she was planning, but she wouldn’t say a word. She just kept smiling enigmatically and cuddled against Vance.
Even on the drive home she wouldn’t say a thing. “Are you mad at me?” asked Vance.
Marsh shook her head, and as soon as Vance parked she pounced on him to kiss him ferociously.
Vance unentangled himself, and moved around the car to open Marsh’s door. She squealed when he lifted her up into his arms, but other than that her lips stayed sealed. So he kept right on going into the bedroom...

Vance stared in confusion at the trailer in his parking spot. Then he backed around and used a different part of the driveway to park. When he got out of his car, Marsh was already there to meet him. “Hey love. Got a little present for you.”
Vance stared at her, then looked over at the tarp-covered trailer. The shape under it was incredibly suggestive. “You... what?”
There was a ribbon tied to one corner of the tarp. Marsh picked it up, and put it in her sweetie’s hand. “Pull.”
He did so, and the shape under the tarp was revealed to be a ‘69 Corvette that had seen far better days. The ragtop was in tatters, and the paint job was blotched and faded, with only hints of the fire engine red it would have been in its heyday.
“I know it doesn’t look like much,” fretted Marsh. “But it’d be an amazing project to work on, right? Sweetie?”
Vance grabbed her in a crushing hug. “Oh my God, how did you ever find this? How did you afford this?”
Marsh squealed and hugged him back just as tight. Once she could breathe, she gasped for a couple breaths before answering. “Oh, I’m so glad you like it. Dad knows a guy who checks around for ‘barn finds’ and the like, owes him a few favours. He called in the mark, and got this for... he didn’t say, but he did say it was well worth it.”
“It’s beautiful.” Vance approached the Corvette. He ran a hand along the fender, then pulled it back and winced as one of the bits of exposed metal had cut him. “Well, it will be beautiful. After a lot of work.”
Marsh set a shiny new toolbox down beside Vance. “And I’ll help you every step of the way. You... might have to teach me some of it, I was never all that mechanically inclined.”
“That sounds...” Vance hesitated.
Marsh watched and waited, humming softly to herself to avoid using her voice, and her inevitable Marshall-like mannerisms.
“That sounds like one heck of an adventure. Are you up for it?”
“Yeppers!”
Vance laughed. “You don’t have to keep doing the voice.”
“I don’t?” asked Marsh with a confused frown marring her expression.
“Nah. I know what you’re doing when you go quiet. Charlie told me.”
Marsh blushed. “You seemed to like me better when you didn’t hear... him.”
Vance clapped Marsh on the shoulder, making her stumble a little. “It’s okay! Really it is. This has been so... everything. And the car! It’s just... It’s just perfect.”
“So you don’t hear Marshall any more?” asked Marsh, trying her best to speak naturally, without forcing her voice as usual.
“Oh, I see what you mean. Wow. Much clearer like that. Cool.”
“Cool? Last time you heard this voice you froze.”
Vance nodded enthusiastically. “And then we had the best sex of my life. And you’ve kept doing it ever since. Is that why you...”
Marsh nodded, eyes glittering. “I was so worried I’d cry your name and you’d hear...”
Vance dragged her toward the carriage house where they both lived. “We are going to fix that right now. You don’t have to hold back.”

Vance lay in the afterglow, rolled to one side so he could study the lovely woman in bed with him. “Damn. You’re loud when you get going.”
Marsh flushed and ducked her head. “Sorry.”
Vance cupped her jaw with his hand and tilted her head gently to face him, then leaned in for a kiss. “I liked it. Felt... honest.”
Marsh squeaked. “Honest? I just...” She giggled softly. “I guess. So. This is me. Warts and weird history and all. Laid bare to your discerning gaze.”
Vance smirked and let his eyes rove over Marsh’s body. “Discerning gaze, was it?”
“Mhmm. You know quality when you see it.”
“And hear it. Don’t fake things on my account.”
Marsh tilted her head curiously. “What if I wanted to?”
Vance propped himself up on one arm, studying Marsh’s expression intently. “What do you want?”
Marsh took a moment to school her expression, then her eyes went very wide. Her voice was a breathless, lilting whisper. Sweet, but not forced to an artificial pitch. “I want to be your sexy little bimbo, all pink and girly and ... MMMF!”
Vance silenced her with a kiss. Once they broke for air, Marsh’s voice got even more playfully sexy. “Does my sweet Vancie-poo like this?”
“Oh my GOD woman, what are you doing to me?”
Marsh purred and snuggled up to him. “Oh this is going to be fun. I’m going to get a pink latex outfit, and a collar...”
Vance rolled on top of her, and that line of thought went out the window. As did both their voices...
