The following Friday, Max’s carpool once again stopped at the mall with the Venn Machine. This time, Max waved off the offer of a change, as Carol was meeting him at the mall.
“Going even shrimpier than last time?” asked Herb.
Max shrugged. “Carol liked it enough to make it worthwhile.”
“So did our wives. Going even bigger this time.”
Max watched his car-mates emerge from the Venn Machine even taller than last time, with what he felt were ridiculous levels of bulging muscles. Once they’d gone, a woman with fuzzy white cat-ears approached him. “Hey hon.”
Max recognized the voice, but not the face. “Carol? What’s with the muzzle?”
Carol wrinkled her lips. “Anonymity. I wanted to see what you guys were up to. They’re...” she sighed. “They weren’t nice to you.”
“They didn’t mean it,” Max lied, eyes cutting away from Carol. “They’re just caught up in venning into big jocks for their wives.”
“Is that what you want to do?” asked Carol softly.
“Not like that,” replied Max immediately. “They looked ridiculous.”
Carol giggled. “Yeah. Bodybuilders without the aesthetic to carry it off. Do you think I’d look ridiculous with that kind of muscle?”
Max winced. “Do you want muscles like that?”
Carol glanced over at the Venn Machine. “I want to be strong, but... still sexy. Think you can do that for me?”
Max grinned. “Heck yeah. How tall?”
Carol’s muzzle split in a grin. “Taller than you. But not so tall I’ll bang my head on doorways. That sucked.”
Max winced in sympathy. “It sounded painful. Every time. Will that be tall enough? I know you like feeling more powerful than me.”
“As long as I can out wrestle you...” Carol trailed off, unable to meet Max’s eyes.
“Out with it,” chided Max. “You can ask for anything. I won’t hold it against you.”
Carol snickered. “I’d like to hold you against me.”
Max rolled his eyes and waited for a proper answer.
Carol turned away. “I want you smaller than last time. Like, a lot smaller. Small enough to hold in my hand.”
Max put a hand on her shoulder, and turned her back to face him. The hurt look in her eyes made him let go abruptly. “Sorry. You hate feeling weak?”
Carol nodded violently. “So, so much. I want to be the one that forces you to move, or that can hold you still with just one hand.”
“I can’t...” Max started to protest.
“You can. When you get both my wrists in your hand, you can hold me almost helpless. You have.”
“You asked!” protested Max. “You said you wanted to be held down.”
“I didn’t realize it’d be so effortless for you.” Carol wiped away a tear. “Maybe this is a bad idea. I don’t want to force you to do things.”
Max snorted. “Yes you do. You want to force me to do all the things. You’re hung up on what I’ll think of you if you do.”
Carol started pacing agitatedly. “But I want to dominate you. Completely. Inescapably.”
“Okay.”
Carol whirled to face Max again. “How can you say that so lightly?”
“Venn Machine. I’ll be me again in two days. So for the duration...” Max shrugged. “I’m at your mercy. By going in there I consent to whatever it is you want to do.” He set the machine for two days, then stepped inside.
Carol followed into the other half of the machine. “You can’t be serious. You’re handing me carte blanche to do anything to you. I kinda killed you last time, and you’re offering up more?”
“You hated that part. I know you don’t want to make me suffer... well, not much,” chuckled Max. “So I trust you. I want to see what you’ll do with me when I am completely and inescapably in your control.”
Max pulled up Carol’s history, and studied the shape there. “Do you want the fur, still?”
“It doesn’t work well with clothing,” sighed Carol. “I’d rather not. Just the muscles. And the white hair, I liked that bit.”
“Whatever you say, Ginormica,” chuckled Max. “OK, set on this end. How tiny are you going to make me?”
Carol’s gaze dropped lower and lower as she worked, until it looked like she was staring at Max’s feet. “Hit me,” she said at last.
Max tapped the circle, and a moment later the Venn Machine went from cozy to immense. Before he could jog to the open door, Carol’s towering form approached him, and a hand bigger than he was swooped down to scoop him up. Max let out a little squeak of terror as he was lifted off the ground, and soon he was in front of Carol’s face. She examined him closely, grinning at what she saw. “Do I scare you, tiny?”
Max nodded, and tried to reply but all that came out was another squeak. He squeaked a few more times as he tried to find his voice, then managed an indignant squeak and glare in Carol’s direction.
Carol chuckled at Max’s antics. “I said I’d make you helpless. You can’t even say no any more, all you can do is squeak like the little mouse you are.”
Max checked himself out. No fur, muzzle, or whiskers to be found. He looked up at Carol again curiously.
“Not literally a mouse. Just... mouse sized.” Carol squeezed Max more tightly. “Squirm for me, mousie.”
Max did his best, but he’d given Carol beyond human musculature, and her grip felt like an iron vise. He couldn’t even budge.
Carol frowned down at him. “That’s the best you can do? No, no, no. I need to feel you struggle. Struggle, damn it!” She squeezed tighter.
Max was unable to breathe, and moments later he passed out in her hand. Carol sighed, and opened her grip to see the bent body within it. “Bother.”
She set the Venn Machine for another two days, and set Max inside. When she entered the other side, he was already whole and waiting for her.
“No good?” asked Max.
“I need to feel you struggle. Can I leave you like you are now?”
Max shook his head. “Just a little change. Maybe make it so I don’t need to breathe?”
Carol shrugged. “I could try. No breathing, no breathing... oo, this looks cool.”
Max tried to ask what was cool about it, but his mouth wouldn’t open. He frowned, and patted his face to find he didn’t have a mouth or nose. He tried to convey his annoyance with his eyes, but that just made Carol giggle.
When the doors opened, Carol picked Max up in a powerful hug that would have crushed the breath out of him if he’d still needed to breathe. Instead of asking if he was okay, Carol dragged him off toward the car.
Max gestured for her to drive, touching his nonexistent lips when she asked why.
“It’s not like talking is necessary for driving,” grumbled Carol. She adjusted the driver’s side seat with ill grace. She slid it part-way back, sighed, then pushed it all the way. She was pleased to discover that she did indeed fit at that point, and only bent the steering wheel a little bit in her exuberance.
Once they were inside their house, Carol pounced on Max. He went down like a sack of potatoes. She grinned, and scooped him up in her arms. “C’mon, not even token resistance?”
Max’s eyes didn’t focus on her, and his head lolled at an odd angle. “Playing hard to get, are we? Let’s see about that.” Carol giggled happily to herself as she easily carried her husband to their bed.
Once there, his body proved more responsive and Carol rode him to a pair of very loud orgasms.
Cuddling up with Max in the afterglow, Carol started to worry. He wasn’t moving at all. “Sweetie? Are you okay? Blink or something.”
Max’s eyes closed very slowly, then reopened. Carol tried to ask questions, but all Max could manage was a single blink at a time, so it didn’t go very far. After a while, Max twitched one hand, and Carol eventually realized he was making writing gestures. She fetched a pen and pad for him. “What’s wrong?”
Need air, he wrote. Can’t breathe. Feels like I get some through skin?
“Oh! So you tire quickly, that makes sense. Fooey. Did you at least have fun?”
Max managed a weak nod.
Carol poked his shoulder softly. Well, softly to her. Max nearly fell out of bed. “This isn’t working. I want to change you again.”
Max nodded, so Carol scooped him up once more and carried him to the car. He managed a stumbling walk to the Venn Machine, and wobbled woozily while standing inside it. Carol used his history to change him back to the four foot tall version. “Better?”
Max took a few deep breaths then nodded. “Yeah. That was weird. If I’m going to suffocate, I’d rather it be by your hand. Or boob.”
Carol snickered. “I can arrange for that.”
Before she could figure out what to do, the time ran out. Carol scooped up her delicate little husband and cooed. “Mmm, this is better. You’re too small, though. I wonder if I can make you normal sized, but weaker?”
Max raised an eyebrow. “You’re strong enough to overpower me completely even when I’m normal. I just want some minor venning to be safe. Maybe you could venn my eyes? Oh, and see if you can make it so lack of oxygen shuts off my brain, but keeps it from dying outright?”
Carol nodded eagerly. “I’ll try! Smothering you with my boobs is fun, and that’d let us do it again and again...”
When Max stumbled out of the Venn Machine a couple minutes later, Carol winced. “Did I get it wrong? Your eyes look so cool all white.”
“Ah, is that what this is,” said Max resignedly. “I can’t see at all.”
“Oops. Try again?”
Max shrugged, looking past Carol’s shoulder. “I can hear the insincerity. I’m helpless like this, and you like it.”
“It’s like you’re blindfolded, but you can’t take it off,” enthused Carol. “The idea of being invisible to you is... yeah. Can we go home and try the other out?”
Max grinned broadly. “You did the breath thing, too? I wonder if I can hold my breath long enough to trigger it?”
Carol took Max by the hand to lead him out of the mall. “Easy, tiger. Wait until we’re in the car.”
Halfway home Max let out a gasp and started panting. “Bother. Can’t quite manage it.”
Carol chuckled softly after a few seconds.
“What?”
“You’re dependent on me for that, too.”
Max laughed warmly. “I am in your hands. Not quite as literally as earlier, though. Hopefully we’re closer to the right level of helpless now.”
Carol agreed. At first she found it quite fun, Max wasn’t even able to get from room to room without her help. She played with him until it was time for dinner, then found that his blindness was a liability to her as well. She had to help him eat, which was humiliating for both of them. Worse, he couldn’t even help with the cleaning up.
When Max heard her sneaking up on him and spoiled even that bit of fun, Carol pouted and grabbed his hand. She dragged him off to the car, at which point he guessed what was going on and stopped complaining.
At the mall, Carol had to carefully lead Max to the Venn Machines. He paused halfway into the machine. “How long did you set it for?”
“Just a day. Though I’d really like to have this body for longer. Can we do that?”
Max carried on inside and the door closed behind him. “Your job would see it as a plus. Maybe they’ll move you from cashier to stocking shelves.”
“Ooh, that would be nice. I like people well enough, but the crap you have to take while you’re on till gets to me some days. What about your job?”
Max shrugged. “As long as the reports get done, and the boss can recognize me to yell at me, I’m good,”
“Oh, goodie.”
While Carol was working, Max looked around. “This is weird... I can see you and the display, but I can’t see myself. It’s kind of freaky. Want any changes?”
“Nah, I’m good,” said Carol.
A few moments later, Max’s sight returned. He looked down at himself. Normal, as far as he could tell.
“Hit green for me, please?” asked Carol.
Max tapped it, then the doors opened. “What was that for, your change would end in a day anyw... wait a minute. You didn’t set it for a day, did you?”
“I might have told a teensy tiny fib,” admitted Carol meekly.
Max sighed. “How long?”
“If you hate it you can change back right now.”
“How long?” repeated Max.
“A year.”
Max rolled his eyes, and turned toward the mall entrance. He stopped abruptly in front of the next storefront, when his reflection caught his eye. He studied it, then put his hand to his hair, and pulled a lock into view. Electric blue. “Why?”
“So I know that you can’t get killed by an exuberant hug. Or a boob-smish.”
Max nodded slowly. “That’s fair.” He started walking toward the mall exit again. After a minute he started singing. “Come on pretty lady, smish me deadly...”
Carol giggled when she realized what he’d done to the words. “As you wish, love. Once we get home.”
Max often had trouble getting to sleep. That night, he asked Carol to help him on his way. After a brief puzzled look she laughed and agreed. An enormous breast covered Max’s face and powerful hands kept him still until his struggles faded away.
Carol kissed Max’s smiling face. “Sweet dreams, love.”
