Bella was checking out Anna’s ass.

Her girlfriend had an eye for fashion, for sure. Right now she was leaning over the cafe counter, laughing with her friend Kat, who was making coffee. The perfect showcase for her cute little ass, clad in her new, very tight jeans.

Bella thought of how it had felt to be a pair of shiny black latex leggings, showcasing Anna’s ass in much the same fashion, just a couple of weeks ago. Ah, how she loved being worn by her girlfriend. She imagined Anna sauntering around the fetish club, her hair up to show off her shaved undercut, her fringed clicker dangling from her septum.

Quieten down, now, or you’ll be in no fit state for yoga. She glanced at her mat, in its new shiny mat bag. And at her own body, clad in shiny spandex leggings and a tight leotard. Anna had assured her she’d look amazing, and, well, she did. What she felt, though, was uncomfortable, and she longed for her old punk rock T-shirts and shorts.

“Hey, Bella! More coffee?” Anna called. She shook her head. Any more coffee and she’d be levitating. Kat waved a hand at her and gave her a cheery grin. Weirdly, this was only the second time they’d met each other in person, although Anna was usually wearing Bella when she was hanging with Kat.

Bella waved back. Kat’s left arm was covered in tattoos, the sleeve occupying space from her shoulder to the back of her hand. Anna often mentioned Kat’s tatts, although they did nothing for Bella. Her lip piercing, though, that was cool. Maybe Bella would get one of those. Hey, if her girlfriend could get pierced …

She picked up her mat. “Hey guys, I gotta get to yoga,” she called. “See you later.”

“Love you!” Anna called. She turned back to Kat. “So, you think I could be a barista?”

“Sure! Come along to the class.”

Oh hell, that reminded Bella. She’d agreed to have coffee with the instructor, Harper, after her class.

God, she was going to be so over-caffeinated.

“God, how do you walk with this thing?”

Ava was checking out her new equipment in the mirror.

“That,” said Sean delightedly, “was exactly what Melanie said.”

She wrinkled her nose when she grinned, in a way that Ava liked very much indeed.

For most of her life, Sean had been a guy. Now, depending on how he felt, he regularly changed into a she. This time around Ava had designed her body in the Venn machine. While she usually came out as a female version of her male self, each time she changed there were little differences, in bust size, in height, even if she had pubic hair or not.

For example, Anna usually left Sean about as tall as her male self. Melanie, her girlfriend, made them the same height so they could swap clothes. Ava, though, left her an inch or so shorter than herself. Sean liked looking up into Ava’s eyes.

Of course, right now it was difficult to look into Ava’s eyes when she had that thing there.

“It looks weird,” Ava said with a grimace.

“Because the size of it doesn’t match your hips,” Sean noted. “But I’m sure it’ll work fine. And you know what you could do?”

“What?”

“Turn yourself into a guy.”

“Damn Melanie. I can’t believe she talked me into doing this.”

“Ah, that girl enjoyed being a she-male. And hey, I’m looking forward to it.”

Ava raised her eyes to the ceiling. “What have I let myself in for?”

“You wanna hang with the cool kids, you gotta go along with the rules.”

“Becoming the third part in a menage a trois with my best friend and her boyfriend? What are the rules for that?”

“Rule number one,” Sean said, lying back on the bed, her arms over her small high breasts, “is unroll Melanie and put her on that thing. Rule number two is, come here and kiss me.”

Ava unrolled the condom on herself. Until half an hour ago it had been her best friend. Last night she and Sean - when he was still a man - had made love, using Melanie as a condom. Melanie had been so thrilled by the experience, she’d demanded they repeat it, but with Ava and Sean’s roles reversed.

Of course, in between they’d made Sean a double-header dildo. God knows what they’d come up with next.

Ava crawled up to the bed, to be enveloped in the shorter girl’s arms.

“So what’s rule number three?”

“I think you can guess.”

And she could.

“Can I have decaf?”

“You can,” an amused Harper said. “But the barista here is going to roll his eyes at me.”

“Oh,” said Bella. “One of those places.”

“Uh-huh. They take their coffee very seriously here. How about a fruit smoothie instead? I like the mango one.”

“Fine,” said Bella. She flexed herself. The yoga class had been good for her muscles, and yes, the leotard had given her freedom of movement her shorts and T-shirt hadn’t. She just wished she didn’t look like a walking ad for Lululemon.

Harper returned with the smoothies, rummaged around in her bag and pulled out her Marlboro Lights. She’d surprised Bella by suggesting they take an outside table so she could smoke.

“I bet you think it’s weird, a yoga instructor who smokes,” Harper said, dangling her cigarette between her lips as she flicked her lighter.

Bella shrugged. “Your body, your rules.”

“I never used to smoke until my last boyfriend. He got me onto them, just one after sex, you know. It was easy to quit him, hard to quit these.” She blew out smoke. “You ever try it?”

Bella shook her head. “My stepdad smoked. It really turned me off them for good.”

“Great. Keep away from them.” Harper took another lungful of smoke. “So, you’re fairly new to the class, but it’s obvious you’re quite experienced.”

“Yeah, my mom used to be an instructor. I grew up doing it. I sorta lost interest, now I’m picking it up again.”

“Thought it was something like that.” Harper crushed out her cigarette and picked up her smoothie. “Well, I know you’ve only been with us for a week, but you’re at the top of the class and, uh, I’ve been on the lookout for someone to help me out in classes. I wonder if you would like the job.”

“Me? You’re right, I’ve only been in your class for a week.”

“Yeah, but I trust my instincts. It wouldn’t be much. I’d start you off just helping me out, then I’d get you to take over a couple of the 6am classes. Unless you’re a late riser.”

“No, that’s not a problem.”

“Great! So … we have a deal?”

This was all going a little too fast. “How about we try it for a week or so, then if either of us isn’t happy, I’ll back out.”

“Perfect. Thanks.”

Bella drained her drink. “Won’t the other stars in the class get jealous?”

“Not at all,” Harper grinned. “They’ll think you’ve been put in the class specifically to help me out. In this way, you being a recent arrival makes you perfect for the job.”

“Okay.”

“We can talk about pay at the end of the week. It won’t be much, but every bit helps.”

“Yeah, that’d be great. Me and my girlfriend recently moved into our own place, and a little extra income would be cool.”

“Oh yes, you mentioned you had a girlfriend. How did you meet?”

Bella thought of the old Anna, the shy, mousy thing she’d met at college.

“You know what a Venn machine is?”

*

Sean had been up most of the night, so it was no surprise she dozed off after their afternoon session. Ava lay next to her on her back, trying to get comfortable with her new dangly bits, and failing. God! Weren’t the Venn machines supposed to make you feel comfortable with being a she-male? She had half a mind to run back down to the mall and get her usual genitals back. Yes, she could return Melanie to her human form, and, well, three girls were just as fun as boy-girl-girl, or boy-girl-appliance. Most of her sexual experience had, in fact, been with girls.

Sean, though, was her first boy-turned-girl. That had been Melanie’s thing.

Sean rolled over in her sleep. A strand of her long black hair - one of the ones dyed electric blue - rolled over her face. God, she was cute.

When she was considering whether to acquiesce to Melanie’s crazy proposal, she’d thought about all the things that could go wrong. So far, though, everything was going right.

Well, early days. Let’s just see where the road took them.

Seam opened one eye and smiled. “Hey. You watching me?”

“Ah, there’s nobody else here,” Ava said affectionately, ruffling the girl’s hair.

“Let me sleep for a bit more, then I’ll be good to go again.”

“How about this? We snooze until six, have a glass of wine, go over to the mall, Venn back and all go out for dinner at the Mexican place.”

“Then?”

“Then we decide what’s next for the night. I think we need Melanie for that.”

“Ah yes, I miss that girl. Her rubber form just isn’t the same.”

The Venn machines … an idea ripped into Ava’s head, so simple she couldn’t believe they hadn’t thought of it before.

Could they use the machines to duplicate Sean … turn him into both male and female versions of himself at the same time?

A ripple of anticipation ran over her. If they could … well, it would make things very interesting indeed.

Ah, a research project. She’d get onto it on Sunday. Tomorrow afternoon and night she wanted to be clothing, and … well … she expected they’d all need a long lie-in.

“Ava?”

“Yes, Sean?”

“On Monday, when I go to work, can you turn me into a girl?”

“Of course.”

“And can you give me that rockabilly girl quiff you did when I was wearing Melanie as a corset?”

Ava grinned. That had been one hot look. “It would be my pleasure.”

Kat was showing Anna the steamer. “You use this to froth up the milk for the espresso.”

“How do you know when it’s frothy enough?”

“That’s just it,” Kat grinned. “You don’t. It’s like chicken-sexing.”

“It’s like what???”

“You know what a chicken-sexer does? They sort newborn chicks into males and females. Except you can’t do that - their genitals aren’t even visible. They do it by instinct. And that’s how you can tell when the milk’s frothy - by instinct.”

“That’s how you do it?”

“Uh-huh. Years of making coffee have told me when everything’s just right. The difference between good espresso and bad espresso is just a little too much milk or water that’s not quite hot enough. The difference between a good barista and a bad one is instinct, honed by experience.”

“And here is little old me thinking it was just about putting water through beans.”

“For a lot of places that’s what it is. But my dad used to run a cafe and he took coffee very, very seriously. I think it was being a Catholic. He had a lot of Italian friends, and they all swore allegiance to the espresso machine. I’ve done a lot of things in my life but I always come back to coffee.”

Kat caught herself and grinned. “Sorry. I get a little evangelical. Well, if I haven’t put you off on a barista course …”

“On the contrary, I really want to do it now.”

“If you’re any good, I’ll give you some hours here. So what are you doing tomorrow night? Dancing at the Lounge?”

The abrupt turn in conversation brought Anna up short. “Uh, yeah. You?”

“Would you mind if I join you?”

Mind? It was what she wanted. But …

“Kat, I have a girlfriend.”

“I know. I was waving at her earlier today. Big girl in the leotards? But Anna, I’m not interested in you like that at all. I just want to hang out with you. I feel like on some level we connect. Not a romantic level or sexual level, but I think we could be really good friends.”

Well. Of course. “Sure, Kat. I’d like that. I’ll be there about nine.”

“I might be there a bit later. Hope to see you.”

“What will you be wearing?”

“More than the last time I saw you.” Which had been a leather G-string and a harness.

“And,” Kat said, “what will you be wearing?”

“I haven’t decided yet.”

My friends.

Bella was sitting around reading at home when she heard the bang at the door.

Ava and Sean had their arms around each other and were swaying in the doorway.

“Bella!” cried Ava. “Good! Get Anna. We have to go out for dinner!”

Well, they certainly seemed very touchy-feely.

“Uh, Anna’s not home,” Bella said.

“Never mind, call her and tell her to meet us at the Mexican place.”

“In half an hour!” Sean said. She’d been very heavy on the eyeliner tonight.

“Yeah, we need to … pick up … Melanie,” Ava said.

Sean burst into a fit of giggles.

“Pick her up?” Bella said, puzzled. “Where is she?”

“We’ll never tell!” Sean cried as Ava took her turn to giggle.

“Uh, we’ve been sworn to secrecy.”

Something dawned on Bella. “Have you guys been drinking?”

“Drinking? Certainly not!”

“Maybe a bit.”

“Yeah, just a little glass of wine.”

“You and your wine.”

“Shut up! You drank it too!”

“And soup.”

“Soup? You had soup?”

“It was all that was left in the fridge.”

“I told you not to mix your drinks!”

More giggles. Bella saw there were two ways to deal with this pair. One way was to simply close the door and hope they’d go away. The second way … well, they were her friends, after all.

“I’ll call Anna. You guys wait here. Don’t go anywhere. And let me emphasise that - don’t go anywhere.”

When she got back, they were sitting on the stoop, nuzzling each other.

Well. This was a new development.

*

“More sangria!”

“Agreed!”

“Tonight,” Melanie said, “we have a lot to celebrate.”

Anna watched her friends with an amused grin. What had gotten into these guys? Sean and Melanie could hardly keep their hands off each other. Which wasn’t so unusual, except now and then Sean would threaten to “keep you in the packet” and Melanie would howl. Ava would butt in with some sarcastic but affectionate comment. Then they’d got into an argument over who was the, quote, “size queen” among them.

Bella and Anna exchanged looks. It was all very mysterious.

“Have another glass, Anna!” Melanie insisted, pouring the fruit-filled wine out. “You too, Bella, my lovely little dark cloud.”

Anna burst into laughter, then quickly choked off as Bella gave her a sorrowful look.

“Oh, stop it, Bella, or I won’t cut your hair,” Ava chided her.

“Hey! I cut her hair!”

“No you didn’t, Mel. You were just the clippers.”

“Hey, I wanna be a hair of pair clippers … I mean, a pair of hair clippers!”

Sean was crying with laughter.

“Stop it! Bad boyfriend!” Melanie gave her a nudge. “I’ll make Anna turn you into a pair of sensible shoes.”

“Ah! No! I have an agreement with Anna that I will not be shoes this Saturday,” Sean grinned.

“What then?”

“Not shoes!”

“Yeah, not shoes,” Anna said. “Something else.”

“I wanna be a dress!”

“I don’t even know if I’m wearing a dress yet.”

“Oh!” Ava cried. “I know what I want to be!”

“What?”

“Remember when we went to the beach and I was the sunscreen? I want to be perfume!”

Bella snorted. “You’d only evaporate at the Lounge, Ava.”

“Well, hell, that sounds like fun too! Have you ever evaporated? I bet you haven’t!”

“No, you got me there.”

“Or make me deodorant. You can rub me under your arms, Anna.”

“Guys, this is getting a little loud,” Anna said nervously. “How about we go out for coffee?”

“Good idea,” Bella said. “I know a few people who could do with some.”

It seemed natural that they wound up at the Venn machines.

“Ava! I’ve got a great idea for you!” Melanie said, putting her arm around her friend. They slid a dollar into one of the booth’s slots and chose an eight-hour duration. When they reappeared, Ava’s short hair had become a Louise Brooks bob, black and sleek.

“That really looks good, Melanie,” Anna said approvingly.

Melanie herself was now sporting a blonde sidecut, with fuzz covering the right side of her head.

“I wanna nuzzle that,” Sean said, rubbing her face against her girlfriend’s head.

“Ooh! PDA! How disturbing!” Ava mock shrieked.”What are you going to be, Sean?”

“I am not getting into a Venn machine tonight, dearie,” Sean simpered. “I am feeling just fine being my girly self. But I’ve got a proposal for Anna,” she said. “One day, turn us all into mannequins wearing our clothes and show us off. You make the best dresses, after all.”

Anna laughed. “That’s a good idea. We’ll do it one day.”

“Soon. And what about you two?”

Anna and Bella exchanged glances. And grinned.

“I’ve chosen the past few nights,” Bella said. “Your turn.”

“Really?”

“Sure. Anything.”

“Dangerous talk, dear. Dangerous talk.”

*

They had the best intentions. Go all night. Do it till dawn. Let’s test the extent of our new relationship.

The wine, even with the coffee, and the lack of sleep the previous night had other ideas.

The three women lay asleep in Melanie’s big bed, not even able to get their underwear off before they drifted off. Melanie on the left, Ava on the right, Sean in the middle.

It was left to Anna and Bella to keep the flag flying.

They kissed. Anna broke lips and grinned. The barbell piercing her lip looked wicked cool, Bella thought.

Anna cupped Bella’s breasts. She fingered the nipples, and the thick curved rings through them. So much fun, Anna thought.

Their new VCHs rubbed in all the right places.

There was so much she wanted to Venn, Anna thought. Invisibility. Making her body parts clear, or goo. Turn Bella into a lovedoll, or a robot. Now that would fuel Bella’s mechanical desires. So many weird, weird things.

Tonight, well, tonight she really appreciated what Bella was doing to her new barbell in such an intimate place. And her lip, too. She couldn’t wait to change places.

And tomorrow she would make her friends into her clothes, and acquire some tattoos and piercings, and sally forth into the Lounge to dance, dance, dance.

It wasn’t a bad life at all.

“Like these?” And she tweaked Bella’s new rings.

“Wonderful. Like this?”

“Oh, yes.”

Yes, yes, yes.
