“Okay, I think I got enough ingredients,” Jenny remarked, looking at the horde of baking supplies she’d dragged into the coven’s pocket dimension.
“Cookie baking contest, huh? How are we doing this?” Portia asked.
Jenny smiled. “I’ve got it all planned, gals. I’ll judge, since--not to be a show off or anything--I would blow you all out of the water if I competed. I roped Maddie’s friend Eveline into joining me. I’m thinking baking in pairs, so whoever of you seven doesn’t get a partner can join me as well.”
“I will judge,” Darcy said.
“Well, that settles it then. Pair up and we’ll get started.”
“Wait, Maddie’s sister and best friend judging? Sounds rigged,” Heidi said.
Eveline chuckled. “We’ve both known dear Madeline for years- we both know she can’t cook something to save her life. If anything, we’re biased against her.”
Maddie stuck her tongue out at her friend. “Thanks, Evie.”
“Don’t worry, love, we’ll bake the best cookies- together.” Cass grabbed a hold of Maddie’s hand and squeezed.
“Lex and I will pair up, too,” Heidi said. “That leaves Portia and Rose.”
The alchemist and face-witch high fived. “We got this, Rose. I believe in us.”
“Alright, Darcy, if you would conjure up some kitchen equipment for us? One for each team, I don’t need any competition over that.”
With a wave of her hand, Darcy summoned three fully-stocked state-of-the-art kitchens in front of the coven. “I hope that is good enough.”
“It definitely is, thanks boss!” Rose cheered, pulling her baking partner to the right-most kitchen. Heidi and Alexia meandered into the central one, leaving the left-most for Maddie and Cass. Darcy conjured up a table and seats for the judges to watch everything. Moments after they sat down, Salem hopped up onto the table with a soft brrrrp. He sashayed along until stopping in front of Eveline and plopping onto the wooden surface.
“I’m not giving you any cookies, Salem,” Eveline teased.
Jenny turned at the sound of a boof and looked down to see Cass’ pitbull puppy. “Hey girl! Oh, I bet you can’t jump onto these stools, can you? Here, I’ll help you.” Jenny scooped the dog into her arms and climbed onto the seat, letting her companion into her lap. “There you go, Daisy.”
“We have five judges now,” Darcy observed.
“Alright girls, the five of us will be judging based on taste and presentation! The cookies don’t have to look like art, but I’m not eating lumps of charcoal!”
Maddie and Cass gathered at their counter space. “I was thinking sugar cookies, Mad. I’ll bake, you decorate?”
“Keeping me away from any cooking, huh? Butt.”
“Maddie, you burn toast regularly.”
“Yeah, yeah, outta my way, Booty Queen, I’m gonna grab sprinkles.”

Eveline held a metal whisk in place of a microphone. “And now we go to our first team of competitors, the odd pair Rose and Portia!” The non-magical girl really hammed up her fake TV performance. “What are you two baking for us today?”
“Chocolate chip,” Rose said. “Can’t go wrong there, right?”
“I would think not. So, Portia makes the dough and you get it onto the baking sheets?”
“Yup! The cookies are her recipe anyway. I promise there’s no alchemy going on here!”
“Darcy would know anyway,” Portia remarked as she turned her stand mixer on.
Eveline waved goodbye and strode towards the middle section. She lifted the whisk up towards her face. “And here we have the power couple Heidi and Alexia! What are you gals making?”
“Snickerdoodles!” Heidi cheered. “I have an old family recipe.”
“And you’re getting your first tray in the oven now, good work!”
“We’re getting both trays in now. Teamwork!”
“We made the dough and put them on the trays together. Cookies made with love will win this for us,” Heidi said.
“Best of luck to you two,” Eveline said as she meandered over to Maddie and Cass’ space. The pair seemed to be goofing off instead of baking.
“Here’s our third pair, the always exciting Madeline and Cassandra! What are you two up to?”
“Sugar cookies take like five minutes to make before putting them in the oven, so we’ve just been kinda slacking since then. My cookies are beautiful.”
“Our cookies, Mad. I made the dough. She cut and designed them. I put them in the oven that I set.”
“Maddie had her baking privileges revoked, I see.”
“She burns toast! I love ya, Mad, but food preparation is not your strong suit.”
“Yeah, yeah, butt.” Maddie turned to lean over the counter, looking at Salem. As Eveline walked back to the judges’ table, Cass placed her hands in the leftover flour on the counter. She turned and sunk her hands into Maddie’s butt, plumping it up just a bit, but mostly just leaving her handprints in her girlfriend’s leggings.
“Ah!” Maddie cried. She twisted, looking at her butt. She bounced on her feet a little to tease the booty witch behind her. Cass rolled her eyes and pulled the cookies out of the oven.
“Alright!” Jenny shouted through the pocket dimension-kitchen. “Seems like everyone’s done baking. Plate those cookies and bring them up here!”
“We have three specific cookies for you,” Cass said, walking up with her plate.
Jenny held one up. “Are these… us?”
“As interpreted by Maddie.”
“Aw, they’re cute!” Eveline proceeded to bite her cookie-self’s head off. “And we’re pretty tasty, too.” Darcy and Jenny joined in eating their cookie-sonas.
“Not bad, not bad at all, sis. Who’s next?”
“Us!” Alexia pushed their plate of snickerdoodles across the table.
“Alright, traditional cinnamon and sugar cookies,” Jenny mused. “Good coloration.” She took a bite. “Good texture… pretty damn good snickerdoodles.”
“They are too crunchy for me,” Darcy said. “I prefer chewier cookies.”
“Last but not least, Rose and Portia’s chocolate chip.” Jenny picked one up. “Superb scent. Is there some brown sugar in these?” She took a bite, then quickly ate the rest of it. “Oh my goodness, these are fabulous. Girls?”
“Not bad,” Darcy replied.
Eveline, meanwhile, had grabbed the rest of their cookies and had begun stuffing herself full of them. “Fantashtic,” she mumbled through mouthfuls of cookie.
“Alright, I guess it’s decided, then. Congrats, Rose and Portia.”
“Evie, you’d better share those!” Maddie chased Eveline as she grabbed the cookies and took off.
