"Tamara? I'm home!" Jill dropped her shoulder bag on a side table and shrugged off her blazer as she got home from work. She didn't see anyone near the front door, but she heard footsteps coming from down the hall. When she finally saw movement, though, it wasn't her wife.
"Oh, hello, Jill," said Tamara's blue plastic body double, recently made to help Tamara with her projects. They'd started calling her Sky to avoid confusion. "Tamara's gone to stock up on supplies. Groceries and printer pellets, if I recall. She told me to tell you that she's printing something in the workroom, and that you shouldn't peek until it's done."
Sky came over to Jill and leaned close against her to give her a peck on the cheek, and Jill wrapped an arm around Sky's waist. The feel of Sky's hard plastic lips had taken some getting used to, and of course her personality always felt like a pre-recorded version of Tamara's, but she looked just like Tamara looked in her new armor costume, except blue instead of red. She was no real substitute for Tamara, but she was always good for a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
Besides, lots of people had a snapshot of their spouse. How many of them could hope for a life-size sentient action figure? It was like having a sexy Alexa, with the added bonus that Sky would never sell their personal data.
"Do you know when Tamara expected to get back?" said Jill, walking with Sky toward the hallway.
"I don't know for sure," said Sky. "Maybe half an hour from now. Is there anything you would like me to do until then?"
If Tamara had said something like that, she would have brushed a fingertip against Jill's collarbone or something as she said it, maybe rubbed her knee against Jill's leg. Sky didn't even raise an eyebrow. Not that Jill had the energy for anything frisky right now, but it was the little things like that that reminded Jill which one she'd married.
"Not right now, thanks," said Jill. "I'll let you know. Right now, I just want to get into something more comfortable."
Jill stepped away from Sky and headed for the bedroom, where she and Tamara kept their new costumes. She always knew that Tamara was talented, and she would never let anyone say otherwise, but next to these costumes, everything else Tamara did felt like an idle hobby. Tamara's costume was a figure-hugging hard plastic suit of sci-fi armor, and Jill's was a slinky black rubber body suit, and both of them allowed them to do remarkable things with their bodies. The first time Tamara had showed the costumes to Jill, she had detached both of their heads and put them on a shelf across the room, and that had just been the start.
Once Jill got out of her work clothes and into her costume, she could feel the stress of the day melting away. The bodysuit fit her perfectly, like a second skin, and without any of the ventilation problems of typical latex or spandex. She swung her arms wide around her and bent over to touch her toes, and then she bent the other way to touch her heels, enjoying the complete freedom of movement that the suit gave her.
Now that Jill was properly dressed for relaxation, it was time to get comfortable. She walked into the game room and took a large prop sword down off the wall, a splurge purchase at a Renaissance Faire one year. She took the sword into the kitchen and sat on the edge of their big countertop island, letting her legs dangle, bouncing the firm rubber boot soles against the lower cabinets. She lifted the sword, lay back, and took a deep breath.
She pressed the dull edge of the sword against her midsection, letting the metal sink into the rubber. She felt the blade glide through her body, rubbing gently against her until it hit the surface of the counter. Then, she pressed her palms against the countertop and slid her upper body away from her lower, letting the sword fall flat. Once she had some clear air in between her ribcage and her hips, she lifted herself up and sat her torso up on the cut surface.
She grabbed hold of her hips and lifted one foot up onto the counter, pushing and pulling to slide her legs along the island, and then she twisted her hips around so her lower half lay face down on the countertop. Once her legs were all the way up on the island, she walked her torso along and lay down on her legs, using her butt for a pillow as she got comfortable. She spread her legs apart a little to cradle her torso between them.
She didn't know how long she lay there, idly bouncing one foot up and down as she stroked her legs beneath her, but she eventually realized that something was missing.
"Sky?" she said. "Do you know where the wand is?"
"I believe Tamara has it in the workroom at the moment," said Sky as she came around the corner. "You want me to get it for you?"
"Please," said Jill.
Jill lay there for a minute in peace, reclining on top of her own legs, until Sky brought the wand, a metal rod with a black rubber bulb on the end that matched Jill's body suit. Jill took the wand and pressed the bulb beneath one arm, drawing a tendril of rubber away from the suit that formed into another arm. She repeated the trick on the other side, giving herself a second pair of arms. The first time she wore the costume, Tamara had given her two extra pairs just to show off, but she figured that four arms was good enough for a relaxing evening.
With two hands to stroke the cut surface beneath her waist, one to hold onto the wand, and one to rub a finger gently through her cleavage, Jill really felt able to relax. As the day's stress began to dissolve and her mind began to wander, she looked over at Sky, waiting patiently for her to need something. It helped to remember that Sky was just something that Tamara had built to help her in the shop, not a person with needs to worry about. Mostly, though, Jill thought about why Tamara had made Sky look like herself.
She knew why Tamara and Sky had the same build and figure, at least. Tamara's suit allowed her to dismantle her body into parts with the click of a switch, and Sky was designed to come apart in the same way, so Tamara could swap Sky's body parts with her own. Jill knew that Tamara occasionally liked to get into her costume and walk around with a few of Sky's limbs, but she wasn't quite sure what had made her want Sky's face to match hers. If Tamara had a long-standing desire to have a copy of herself do chores for her, it was news to Jill.
She could see the attraction, though. Anyone with a healthy self-esteem and an appreciation for their own physique might wonder what it would be like to look themselves up and down, maybe even to go a little farther. Jill had thought that way once or twice herself, back when she and Tamara were first dating.
Well, with her new costume, Jill well knew how it felt to lie in her own lap. Maybe now was the time to take it all the way.
She rolled off of her legs and lifted one of them over her head, straddling herself with her legs hanging off the edge of the counter again. She placed the bulb of the wand on top of her severed hips and pulled upward, and a mound of black rubber grew up out of the cut surface. As the growth extended further upward, she took hold of her thighs with her lower arms and held herself higher up so she could see what she was doing.
As her lower half sprouted upward, the new growth developed breasts, and then shoulders and the stub of a neck. She drew the wand to one side, sprouting an arm, and then she
repositioned the wand on the other side and painted in the other arm.
She remembered the first day with the new costumes, when Tamara had surprised her with four new arms at once. She had taken to the new limbs surprisingly quickly, to the point that it almost felt weird when she had to go back to two. Now, she had an entire spare body, headless with her torso in its lap. It felt odd, but still strangely natural. She raised her new arms to feel the spot between her shoulders where a head belonged, and then she reached out and took hold of her torso, lifting herself from her lap and standing up from the counter.
It was everything she'd hoped it would be. Her four-armed upper half stroked her shoulders and the small of her back, while her headless body massaged her shoulder blades and supported the severed surface of her waist. She felt like she was slow dancing with herself through the kitchen. She could have swayed back and forth like for hours, if Tamara hadn't chosen that moment to walk back through the door.
"Oh," said Tamara, when she saw what Jill was up to in the kitchen. "Well, that was unexpected. Hi, Jill. Enjoying yourself, I see?"
"Hey, Tamara," said Jill, carrying herself over to her wife as Sky took the bags of groceries and put them away. She gave Tamara a kiss on the lips, if only to confirm that there was nothing like the real thing. "I just had an idea, and I wanted to try it out. Give me a hand, will you?"
Jill wrapped one arm around Tamara's shoulders and another around her own new pair, supporting her torso while she moved the wand down below her waist. She drew the rubber down, growing herself another pair of hips, and then a new pair of legs, one after the other, until she stood beside herself and her wife.
"Now, this might be the really tricky part," said Jill, raising the wand to the neck stump of her new body. She pressed the rubber bulb against the stump, just to give it the best chance of working, and then she pulled. The neck stump grew upward, but it resisted, like something was stuck.
She pulled as hard as she dared. She didn't want to break the suit, but if being cut into pieces didn't harm it, what was the worst that could go wrong? Something felt like it wanted to give, though, so she kept at it.
Suddenly, the pressure released. A round shape burst from beneath the wand's bulb, lighter in color than the suit. The front of the shape resolved, and Jill felt a strange sensation as she opened her second pair of eyes.
At first, it was like looking in a mirror. Then it was like having split-screen inside her own head, with two slightly different views of the same face. She raised a hand to stroke her cheek, but she realized that both of her were raising a hand at the same time. Instinctively, she reached up to hold the hand touching her cheek, but she did that twice at the same time too. The whole time, it just felt like she was holding her own hand, several times over, but the sensation of holding someone else was still there. She still had a warm body filling her arms, all six of them, even though it was obviously her own.
She tried to focus on one point of view, one face and set of arms at a time.
"Well, this is new," she said, from only one mouth. She switched perspectives and looked over at Tamara, and her other viewpoint stayed on her head, watching it turn. Tamara gave her a suspicious look.
"You didn't peek into my workroom, did you?" she said.
"What? No," said Jill.
"She didn't," said Sky. "I told her you didn't want her to."
"Well, then let's see," said Tamara. "Is it real..." She kissed Jill on her original cheek. "Or is it Memorex?" She switched heads and kissed Jill on one of the new cheeks. She licked her lips for a moment, and then she took Jill's chin and met lips with her. Jill had the pleasure of kissing her wife and getting to watch at the same time.
"Hmm," said Tamara with a satisfied smile. "Not quite skin, but much more supple and porous than the latex. This is worth looking into."
"Hey, hey, hang on," said Jill. "Now I'm curious." She reached over to her shoulder and turned herself around to face her, and she wrapped all six arms around as she pulled herselves tightly together.
There was definitely a feeling of kissing rubber, but Tamara was right. It wasn't as plasticky as it might have been. It definitely wasn't as plasticky as kissing Sky, but at least with her, there was the sensation of someone else being involved.
Suddenly, something occurred to her.
"Wait," said Jill, as her original head broke off for some air. "When you saw me making my own body double, why was your first thought that I might have peeked into your workroom?"
"What are you working on in there?" said Jill, once she got her breath back.
Tamara looked back and forth between Jills, and then she looked over to Sky. "Sky, do you think the print is done?"
"It should be," said Sky. "Is it time?"
"Yeah, I think so," said Tamara. "Come on, Jill. Have a look."
Tamara led the way to the workroom, followed by Jill, Sky, and Jill. Another armor costume sat on the long work table, except this one was black, and it had four extra arms. Tamara and four-armed-Jill walked around one side of the table, while Sky and two-armed-Jill walked around the other, looking down at the work.
Jill stroked Tamara's waist and hip with her two right arms. "So you wanted a little taste for yourself, huh?" she said.
"Yeah, among other things," said Tamara. "Give me a hand getting it on, will you?"
"Oh, I think I can give you a few hands," said Jill, as she helped Tamara disrobe.
"Yeah, I regretted it as soon as I said it," said Tamara. "Sky, would you put these away for me?"
With both Jills helping, Tamara stripped down to her underwear in no time at all. As Sky carried her clothes to the bedroom, Tamara climbed up onto the work table and climbed inside the armor. The four extra arms were merely attached to the costume, without any actual hollow space inside them, so the only ones with Tamara inside them were the top two.
Once the last piece of the costume was in place, the seams sealed shut, and Tamara sat up on the table. All six arms moved as naturally as if she'd been born with them, encased in shiny black plastic that made her look like a spidery space assassin. Like her other suit, this one had wedge heels built into the feet to bring Tamara up to Jill's height. Also like her other suit, it allowed Tamara to come apart into pieces, which Jill proved immediately. One of her removing Tamara's top half from her midriff and held it in her arms, and the other one lifted Tamara's lower half back onto the table, unhooking one of her legs and draping it over her shoulder like a rolled-up rug.
"Oh, dear," said Tamara with a big grin on her face. "If you're going to be duplicating yourself, you'll be able to take me to pieces in no time at all. I'd better watch my back." She wrapped her top pair of arms around Jill's neck, and she ran her other four gently up and down Jill's four arms and back.
"Yeah, I bet I could have you up on blocks and stripped for parts inside of fifteen seconds," said Jill. "What's the market price for a like-new Tamara leg? I bet Sky would pay fair value for one."
"Don't give her any ideas," said Tamara. "I can build more spare parts if I need to, don't think I can't." She looked over to the printer. "Actually, this was only part of what I wanted to show you. If you'll get me back into one piece, I'll show you."
Jill set Tamara's torso back onto the ball joint of her midriff, but she decided to keep hold of her leg, so Tamara had to hop over to the printer and open the cover. She tied her big fluffy hair back and down with one pair of arms while she took her new costume piece out of the printer with another. It looked like some kind of helmet, with a front and a back half. Tamara gave the back half to Jill to hold in position while she fastened the front half over her face. Once both pieces were attached, they locked into the collar of the armor suit and sealed into a single piece.
"Well?" said Tamara. "What do you think?"
She didn't sound quite like Tamara. In fact, she sounded more like Jill, because she looked exactly like her. The face was made of hard jointed plastic, but it was an exact copy of her face. The smile was definitely Tamara's, though. It was the same smile Jill always saw when her wife pulled her close, just like she was doing now.
The other Jill stepped closer, wrapping Tamara's leg around the three of them and rubbing it against Tamara's shoulder. She kissed the new face from two directions at once, the better to enjoy the moment as much as possible. After all, she'd been curious before about what it would be like to be with an exact copy of herself. Now her wife had given her the chance to find out.
