The curtain rises, revealing a metallic throne-like chair. To one side is a small table with a red tablecloth and a shiny black silk handkerchief.

The magician takes the stage with a flourish as the music begins. She wears a figure-hugging red latex suit and high boots, with a wide black buckled belt and a firm black leather collar. She takes a seat in the chair and welcomes the audience.

Her partner watches from the wings. He's interested in joining the act, but he's never seen it in person. The magician wants him to see it for himself once, to make sure he's ready.

He's never seen her in stage costume before, and he's never seen her in front of an audience before, but he already knows the secret of her act. This audience is in for an unforgettable show.

The magician lifts the handkerchief from the table and runs it through her fingers. She gently drapes it over her head and begins to turn her head back and forth, her hands on either side of her face. With each turn, her head twists further and further, until her head points completely to one side.

She repositions her hands and gives her head one more quarter turn. Then, she puts one hand on top of her head, holding the handkerchief in place, and grabs the dangling edge of the handkerchief with the other, lifting it just barely up from her chest.

With a jerk, she lifts the edge of the handkerchief all the way up, revealing the back of her head to the audience. They only have half a second to see the view before she lowers the handkerchief again, to the sounds of awe from the house. She then twists her head the rest of the way around, bringing it into alignment again before removing the handkerchief and taking a small bow in her seat.

The audience applauds. Many of them have seen a head twister illusion before, where the performer uses carpentry to hide the fact that her head isn't actually twisting, where the illusion is used to hide a lie. They've never seen a version where the illusion is used to hide the truth.

But the act isn't over. She places the handkerchief back over her head, and again she twists her head back and forth with her hands. After a few twists, though, she tilts her head jerkily from side to side. With the third jerk, she tilts her head entirely to one side, and then she lifts it up as high as she can.

She delicately sets her handkerchief-covered head on the side table, and then she crosses her legs and rests one hand on top of her head, lightly drumming her fingers. With her other hand, she wipes her fingers across her chest and traces the outline of her leather collar. Her neck simply ends right at the top edge of the collar, but the audience isn't quite at the right level to see the flesh of her neck. Her partner can see it from his vantage in the wings, but of course he's seen it a few times already.

For the climax, she again reaches for the front edge of the handkerchief and briefly lifts it up. The audience gets a look of her smiling face this time, but she lets them look for long enough to give them a wink before covering her face again. He can hear a few gasps in the audience.

She grips her head by the back of her hair, lifts it back into place, and sets it down on top of her neck. After a few adjustments, she whips the handkerchief off, stands up from the throne, and poses, as the audience stands and applauds.

Her partner claps right along with the audience. Now that he's seen the magician's show for himself for the first time, he can't wait for him to bring him into the act. After helping her keep her magical secret for this long, he is more than excited to join her in it.
