Cammie walked into her friend Val's apartment with a pizza for an evening of video games. Val was already sitting on the couch, working through the solo mode while she waited. Callie grunted a little as she sat down.
"Hey, Cammie," said Val, taking a slice. "Rough day?"
"Not really, just a little sore," said Cammie, rubbing her legs. "Been on my feet all day."
"Have you tried soaking your feet in hot water?" said Val. "That's what I'm doing."
Callie got up to look down the hall. The bathroom door was open, so she could just see the steam coming out of the bathtub. "Oh, is that where they are? I was wondering."
"Yeah, that's why I've got my skateboard handy."
"Does it work on sore knees, too?"
"Probably," said Val. "Worth a try, right? Roll up your pants legs, and I'll go get the good knife."
Cammie sat down on the couch and hitched up her cuffs, and Val dropped down onto her skateboard and rolled to her room. When she got back, it only took her a moment to slice above Cammie's knees and carry them down the hall to the bathroom. Instantly, Cammie started to feel better as the hot water began to soothe the aches out of her sore muscles and joints.
When Val rolled back into the living room, Cammie was still situating herself on the couch, her limp pants legs hanging down. Val lifted herself up with a practiced motion and got comfy.
"You know," said Cammie, "you never really think about how much you use your legs for sitting."
"Yeah, that's why I have all these extra pillows," said Val. She picked up her abandoned slice of pizza and took another bite. "So, which controller do you want?"
