“Crap crap crap crap craaaaaaap!”
Sapph sprinted along the length of the train platform, black high-heels swinging from one hand as she clutched at her black leather purse, the silver studs glittering on the flap. She skidded to a halt, her stockinged feet slipping on the platform edge as she repeatedly slapped the open button on the train door.
“Thank fuck for that!” Sapph burst out as the doors open and she shot inside, just as she heard a shrill whistle from the platform, saying that the train was about to depart.
Sapph collapsed onto the nearest seat, scooping her long black hair back from her face, irritably blowing a few stray strands of blue off her face.
“Sure,” Sapph pantomimed in a sickly sweet voice. “Come over to my place Sapph, we’ll have a few laughs…” She scowled at the closing doors. “Ignoring the fact you live the other side of the fucking country…”
Sapph threw herself back in the seat, and then cursed, realising that her black dress had ridden up as she had sat down, revealing the pink bows at the top of her black stockings and a slice of pale thigh. The man opposite her, who had been admiring them, looked hastily away as she shot him an evil glare, and tugged the skirt of her dress down.
“Stupid dress, stupid shoes…” Sapph reached down to slip her feet back into the red velvet Mary-Jane shoes with 6 inch heels, adopting the mocking tone again. “Don’t worry about your attire Kitten, I’ll send you a little something… what a complete and utter asshat… doesn’t he know it’s fucking February?!”
Not that she didn’t look good, Sapph had to admit, catching her reflection in the dark window of the train. She looked stunning in the tight black dress with a sweetheart neckline, just revealing a hint of cleavage and her long neck, a neck left strangely bare.
“What, no collar?” She’d demanded, amused.
“Patience Kitten,” had been the reply.
At least he had let her wear her coat, she thought. Although, it would have curbed the game if she’d come down with a cold half way through. She checked the time on her phone, and noticed a message from him. She paused, noticing that it contained a movie E-ticket.
-Neverwinter Theatre, Screen 10, Row D, seat 3. 5:30 sharp. Don’t be late.-
She smirked, and tapped back.
-Or what?-
-I’ll mark you up a demerit.-
-Fuck you.-
-Maybe later, if you’re a good girl.-
Sapph rolled her eyes and contemptuously dropped her phone back into her handbag.
“Such a drama queen…”
Sapph had walked past Neverwinter Theatre before, but never actually been in. It had a strange kind of ambience, heavy red curtains around the foyer that deadened the sound, dark parquet flooring, golden rails with the red velvet ropes clearly delineating the entrances for screens. Hell, even the bored looking employee at the desk was wearing an immaculate uniform. It was totally her “date’s” thing. Sapph showed her phone to the employee, who nodded, still looking bored, and waved her towards a set of double doors with a golden 10 emblazoned on the wall alongside it.
Despite herself, Sapph felt her heart skip a beat as she tripped delicately over to the door in her high heels. There was a slight edge of nerves, she admitted to herself, but there was that electric thrill that went with it. The screen was almost totally empty, a tiny little room compared to the huge multiplex cinemas she was used to, with barely 5 rows of seating infront of the large screen. She picked her way up the stairs to the last but one row and then dropped into seat 3. It was half of what looked like a sofa-style arrangement, no armrest between her and the seat to her right.
Cosy, Sapph thought wryly. She checked the time 5:35. Hah. She sat there as a few more people drifted in, her heart stopping each time, thinking that it might be her date, but each of them stopped before reaching her. Sapph sat there awkwardly, fiddling with the catch of her purse. She hadn’t been… stood up, had she? A flame of anger burst beneath her heart. Well that was just fucking lame. She hadn’t trekked halfway across the city and got all dolled up to be stood up like this. Hell, she’d even gone through the incredibly labour intensive process of washing and styling her hair – only to be stood up?
Well fuck him.
Sapph went to stand up and stalk out dismissively, but as she gathered her feet underneath her, the lights went down. A pair of cool hands descended on her shoulders from behind, pinning her in her seat with a gentle pressure and a low voice spoke in her ear.
“Going to walk out on me Kitten?” He demanded softly. “Now, that definitely has to be worth a demerit.”
“You’re a dick,” Sapph snarled back, gaining her a horrified look from the couple in front.
“Language kitten,” her date purred, dropping easily into the seat alongside her.
He looked very dapper, Sapph thought grudgingly, in a dove-grey suit, black shirt and a dark red tie, probably to match her shoes. Even his light brown hair was pin neat, and she caught the way his eyes swept over her dress.
“Oh yeah, you get an eyeful,” Sapph snapped.
He smirked at her, putting a finger to his lips as the movie started. Sapph looked in horror at the screen, realising why the screen was so quiet. It was some kind of hideous documentary about some historical crap.
“Oh hell no,” Sapph said firmly, gathering herself together to get up.
His arm slid around her waist, wrapping tightly around her body and arms, effectively pinning her arms to her side, and her body to the seat. Sapph opened her mouth to protest, then found his other hand clamp firmly over her jaw effectively handgagging her. She glared at him in the darkness, and his smirk only grew.
“Sssh kitten, the show’s starting,” He murmured, drawing her closer, in the pretence of cuddling her, while really just tightening his grip. “Behave now, won’t you?”
Sapph scowled, feeling a blush flame along the tops of her cheeks, then, refusing to let him take any more of her attention, turned her head resolutely to the screen, ignoring him. He stroked her cheek gently with his thumb and settled back in his seat, still grinning that self-satisfied crooked smile.
“Good kitten.”
“How the fuck did you pick that piece of shit?” Sapph demanded, sliding out of the taxi after her date. “Seriously Jay, that was the most boring thing I’ve ever seen.”
Jay shrugged, sliding his key into the latch of his front door.
“I personally thought that it was an enlightening look into the fossil fuels industry, especially in the present climate,” He remarked, pushing the door open.
“Well fucking bite me,” Sapph scowled, stalking past him.
“That was on the cards…” Jay agreed, hanging his suit jacket over the newel post of the stairs. “Right after the… AGH!”
Jay collapsed as Sapph neatly swept his legs out from under him, sending him sprawling to the floor, face first. Jay tried to push himself up, but felt Sapph grab his wrists firmly, and heard a soft *click*. Jay tugged fruitlessly against the handcuffs she’d neatly slipped around his wrists, then turned over onto his back, gazing up at Sapph.
Sapph smirked, nudging the front door shut with her foot, slowly striding forwards so she was stood over Jay, imperious in her red high-heels. Jay raised his eyebrows.
“I see you have other plans,” He said, attempting to keep his voice steady, but unable to hide the slight tremor of excitement in his voice.
Sapph reaching into her handbag and withdrawing a 5 inch long cylinder of rubber. With a dramatic flourish, she flicked her wrist, making the telescopic riding crop slide out with a dramatic ‘snick’. She grinned down at him, placing her one heel on his sternum to pin him in place.
“Just a few,” Sapph admitted slyly. “Now Kitten, how about we talk about those ‘demerits’?”
