Notes:

• I thought of many storylines for many different characters before realizing that what really matters is what happens to Charity in this story. So, many great upheavals occur which go un- or barely noticed during the course of this story. For now they are just in my mind. (If I had attempted to write it all, I’d never finish the story.)

• A lot of exposition in this chapter just to remind the reader what the heck is going on

• The ponygirls, Hazel and Garnet, are not selfish creatures. They have goals and lovingly plot secret schemes together.

• Yes, Missouri, there is a political statement in this chapter.

• This is the third and final book. Of course the stakes are much higher!
