Stella blinked twice, then a third time. Her hooves—actual hooves—clopped nervously against the cold lab floor. Her once-sleek hands were gone, replaced by strong, equine legs. Her usually dark blonde hair now burned a brilliant, flickering electric blue, swaying behind her like an angry storm. But the most shocking thing?
Her boyfriend, Luke, stood across the room with a smug look on his face… holding a Poké Ball.
"What… what the hell did you do to me?!" she shrieked, though her voice had an odd, melodic resonance to it now. "This isn't funny, Luke! Undo it! Right now!"
Luke crossed his arms and gave her a slow, deliberate nod. “You brought this on yourself, Stella. You never listened. Always doing the opposite of what I say— Always being disobedient, sneaking out, messing with my lab equipment. You knew I was working on Pokégenetics.”
Stella tried to storm toward him, but misjudged her four-legged gait and nearly toppled over. “You turned me into a Pokémon?! For being disobedient?”
“I warned you,” he said calmly. “You’ve got rare DNA. I just… unlocked its potential. Honestly, you look kind of amazing. Graceful. Powerful. Majestic. Like a Rapidash and a unicorn had a very nerdy, very adorable baby.”
“My face is still human!”
“Yeah, well, baby steps,” Luke muttered, taking notes on a clipboard. “You still have your mind, which is... honestly a miracle, considering I only ran simulations twice.”
Stella huffed, her newly grown tail sparking faintly as blue flames licked the air behind her. “This is so messed up. You’re messed up. This is not what normal couples do when they argue!”
Luke raised an eyebrow. “And normal girlfriends don’t hack into secret lab projects out of curiosity. Actions have consequences, my little Pokémaiden.”
Stella glared at him, blue mane crackling with pent-up energy. “Luke... I swear, when I figure out how to use whatever powers I have now—”
He grinned. “That’s the spirit. Oh, by the way, I registered you in the Pokédex under the name Stellaflare. Cute, right?”
“LUKE!”
And somewhere deep in the lab, the machines hummed with delight, eager to see what kind of powerful, disobedient magic would come next from the world’s first sentient Pokégirlfriend.
