Mary Volgelson felt the first tingling of conscious thought rousing her from slumber. Her internal alarm clock was going off again, and the thirty-five year old sighed to herself; the bed seemed so warm and inviting, it didn’t seem possible that it could be six-o’clock.
Despite her stubborn efforts to deny it, her body continued its normal routine of getting alert and ready for the day. At last she sighed and got up from the surprisingly comfortable bed she’d been sleeping in and walked to the boudoir.
