        <strong>Chapter 11 Part I      A Desperate Course</strong>Jake flew over the sea of green, gazing intently at the splotches of brown beneath the canopy. The search for Cassandra had taken two weeks already and everyone had been feeling the pressure.<br />Jake flew all-day patrols and had covered the entire national forest and a good deal of the state lands and farmland with his friend, the sparrow.<br />The fine fellow used his small size to dart down amongst the treetops, or flit to nearby windows to listen in to conversations, or twittered madly by the police station to eavesdrop on official reports.<br />Jake couldn&#8217;t speak to him fluently yet, but his sister could, She claimed he was extremely grateful to be rescued and wanted to help any way he could.         <strong>Chapter 10 Part I</strong>Jake yawned as he raised his head up. Opening his eyes, he took in the sight of Serena sleeping peacefully next to Asbiorn in cat shape. It looked so strange that he could watch nothing else for some time.<br />When he finally could pull his eyes away, Jake found himself wondering where Shyla was. He&#8217;d talked to Brian the night before and knew which room she would be at, so moving quietly as if her were stalking prey, he moved all the way to the end of the hall where his friends were sleeping.
