The next chapter in the Aid Society, introducing a new character!!! Not sure what will happen to her yet, but I hope her arrival was worth the wait.


Next: Chapter 10 Part IJake yawned as he raised his head up. Opening his eyes, he took in the sight of Serena sleeping peacefully next to Asbiorn in cat shape. It looked so strange that he could watch nothing else for some time.
When he finally could pull his eyes away, Jake found himself wondering where Shyla was. He’d talked to Brian the night before and knew which room she would be at, so moving quietly as if her were stalking prey, he moved all the way to the end of the hall where his friends were sleeping. There , in the final room on the left, was an immense oak door, painted blue and yellow, and locked by the means of a stone bench placed across the entrance (as the door, by some curious chance of construction, opened outward into the hall instead of in).
Jake removed the lock carefully and noiselessly and opened the door, finding the inner locks left unengaged, as they had required.
Inside, sleeping very peacefully, Shyla sprawled on a goose-down mattress set inside a huge four-poster stone bed


Previous: Chapter EightThe morning came, cold and clammy, when Jake at last made his way outside. Birds trilled in the air while on the slopes far below the cave mouth the wind rustled the branches of the forest.
With the sound of thunder he launched into the sky. Climbing rapidly to height he soared lazily in the clear morning air.
Hunting proved to be good at the far edge of the forest--he couldn't hunt in the heart of the woods with Serena's treaty. He'd been forced to the outer edges to make his kills, but the forest tended to be more open because of logging anyway, allowing him to quickly strike his targets without having to stalk them through the trees.
Taking his kill back to the mountain, he dined greedily upon the meat. He left the bones of the stag to fall upon the mountainside wherever they will.
Running lithely down to the cave, he gloried in his muscular body. Despite being more than forty feet in length, he seemed built to run or fly. His long muscular legs and strong shoulders gave him the gra
