Jenna had wanted a simple existence. Life as a person was complicated, existence as a mannequin would be far simpler. She'd only have to be pretty and sell clothing. And that requires no effort for an immobile piece of plastic.
So when a company approached her, offering a one-year contract as a mannequin, Jenna jumped at the chance. The client wanted a reclining figure, and the techs guided Jenna's body into the exact pose she'd be holding, Jenna offered no resistance, even when one of them copped a feel. Mannequins can't control who touches them, and in her mind, she was already a mannequin.
How long ago had that been now? Was her year almost up? Or had that whole experience been some kind of dream she had during the long nights when nobody was in the store. She didn't think a mannequin would be that creative, so she must have been human at some point, right? But if she was, did it matter? Would she want to be human? Their lives looked so hectic. Though wearing more than what her owner put on her could be fun.
Jenna's thoughts stopped there, as they always did when her o-loop kicked in. The customers in the store never saw the change, but for the next half hour, the figure reclining on the couch would be just another mannequin, as pleasure shut down every other function of its plasticized brain.
Jenna came down from the rush thinking the same thoughts she always did after the loop: "Jennaquin looks good on display."
