Kelli posed awkwardly alongside her robotic clone. She hated these events, so much, but there wasn't much she could do about it. Every month she'd wake up, and head to some unknown location to be in a promotional shoot with someone who had purchased a copy of her.
She regretted ever applying for that program. Sure it covered her own top-of-the-line robot chassis, but that caveat of needing to help promote her copies was going too far. Her body ran on auto-pilot on those days, making her little better than the submissive toys the company had made from her consciousness. They had wanted the perfect human mind to copy into their new dolls, and she had 'won'. Her job history included gymnast, call girl, chef, psychiatrist, and college professor, so she'd made an easy choice for the panel. Submissively kneeling before them might not have been necessary, but with that crowd she knew it helped too.
And she did enjoy some submission, but every copy of herself leaned over and told her, "I'm sorry you don't have an owner too."
As the photographer's assistant twiddled a controller and Kelli's body moved into a new pose, she always thought "if only you knew..."
