"Ok Jenny, that's a wrap. Though I guess you've figured that out eh? You look gorgeous as always, and that new set is sure to fly off the shelves thanks to your modelling it. Linda will get you over to the store and installed in the display there, and I'll see you in a couple of weeks for the next shoot. Till then, enjoy!"
As the photographers assistant lifted Jenny onto a cart, the plastic model took some time to think about what her life had been like for the last couple of months, and would be for the next five years as she worked as a spokes-model for Sakura Lingerie Company.
She was one of five models hired for the position, or maybe one of five willing to take it. The company made no secrets about the fact that the mannequins in their stores were actually real women turned into display figures, and Jenny had worked a few short contracts with them before. They didn't do that much for her resume but they helped pay the bills, and she actually enjoyed her time frozen in the window of a store wearing nothing but sexy lingerie. When a company representative came to her with the offer to be a spokes-model for the next five years Jenny jumped on it, knowing it would rocket her into stardom.
Sakura Lingerie Company hired many models to work as mannequins, but they only used five models for photographic advertising and for their unique runway shows. Those five models were hired one a year for five year contracts at the beginning of summer and Jenny had been this years new hire. The thing about being a spokes-model though, is that it is literally a full time job. If Jenny wasn't in a shoot she was plastic and on display, or having moulds made of her so that real mannequins could be made in her image. Those duplicates would be used for the runway shows: she would walk on to the runway followed by her plastic copies on moving platforms in the specially designed stage, once she reached the end she'd strike a pose and join her copies in immobility before being carried off the stage herself. Once her contract was up she'd be given three of her copies as part of her payment, and the rest would be auctioned off by the company for profit.
Being given so much exposure was a boon to any model's career, even if they were known for being plastic as much as flesh. The funny thing was that once she was finished with her contract, Jenny figured she wouldn't have to work again if she didn't want to. The job paid extremely well, and since she had no living expenses her entire paycheck went directly into her bank account where it could gain interest. There was also the neat little side effect of being plastic that stopped your body from aging for a while afterwards, with that effect compounding the longer you stayed inanimate. The original spokes-model for the company had been changed back over 15 years before Jenny got hired on, and she had only recently begun to show signs of aging.
As Linda placed Jenny in the window next to her frozen cohorts, the plastic model decided again that five years as a mannequin was worth it for a fat bank-account and extended youthfulness.
