David sighed, rubbing his head. He had been working hard on some homework for a couple of hours and he needed a break. He took off his trilby fedora and placed it next to his computer and stretched, giving a yawn. He brushed his light brown hair out of his eyes and he looked out the window, watching the sun slowly set behind some houses across the street. He sighed.

"I'm bored," he said quietly, standing up and opening the window to let some fresh air in. Traffic on his street was minimal, so it was a quiet night. A soft breeze blew through his window which cooled him down a bit. He smiled. It wasn't so bad now… he could concentrate.

Then something fell into the room. If his window had been closed, it would have either bounced off the glass and startled him, or shattered through it and caused some damage. Luckily, whatever the object was sailed through the open window and landed on the floor with a sound that was loud enough to make David jump.

"What in the…" he said, turning and looking down at the ground. He stared, confused. Sitting on the floor was a small object, about the same size and shape as a baseball. It was red on one side and white on the other, a thick black line separating the two sides. A white button sat in the middle of the line. Instantly David recognized the object.

"Why did someone throw a pokeball into my room…?" he said to himself quietly, picking it up. That would be his first mistake.

The ball opened up all on its own and David would get a glimpse of an empty ball as a red energy enveloped him. He felt warmer as he was coated in the strange red light, like a strange force was wrapping a thick blanket around him. He closed his eyes as he felt numb, like Novocaine had been applied to his entire body. It was a weird sensation and he felt something move around inside him. His mouth felt weird, his feet and hands seemed to change, something seemed to stretch his skull and his hair. It wasn't painful, but for a strange reason, David thought that it should. As suddenly as it all began, it ended and David blacked out.

When David woke up, he was on the floor of his room. Looking at the clock, he realized he had only been out for about ten minutes. Groaning, he sat up, holding his head. "ow…" he said softly, then paused. His hand felt weird… as did his head. And hair. Everything was off. He stood up and went to a mirror quickly, and froze, gasping at what he saw.

"Am… I…?" he said softly, advancing to his reflection. Seeing the creature's mouth move as his did confirmed what he saw. Standing in the mirror was a black-furred bipedal creature with three-fingered claws for hands. His hair was long now, and had red sections before ending below his waist. He looked down to see his face had a muzzle now.

"I'm a Zoroark," he said, amazed. He looked, trying to see if he still had the pokeball. For a moment, he thought it was gone, but then he found it underneath his desk. Picking it up, he opened it and found a note inside. Weirded out, having a feeling that the ball ahd been empty before, he took it out and unfolded the note.

"FROM AKEA INDUSTRIES:

POKEBALL #571

ZOROARK

Instructions: When in use, open the ball and assume the correct form. Form lasts indefinetly. To reverse effects, close the ball – default form will be returned."

David blinked. This was some sort of transformation device! He had only dreamed of things like these, but now he was in a possession of one, somehow. He liked it. He smiled, putting the ball on his desk, making sure it remained open. He would stick with this form for now, he decided, picking up his hat and putting it on. For now, he wanted to go to this AKEA and see what else they had for sale…
