A Halloween Housewarming
“I’m glad you could make it to the party,” Keegan smiled. “Now that I’m completely moved to my new place, I though I’d have a fun party to celebrate.”
“It is nice,” Adam admitted. “Am I the last one to the party?”
“Yup,” he said.
“Fashionably late?”
“You aren’t unfashionably late,” Keegan said with a grin. “Everyone else has already… changed into their costumes.”
“Oh? I didn’t bring a costume,” He said. Keegan shook his head.
“Don’t worry about that,” He smirked, heading into the main room where there were about ten people milling about in costume. Although, Adam realized, those might not be costumes, for if they were, they were extremely detailed. It was Keegan, after all, he would try to see what he had changed his friends into when he got the chance. “Just be yourself… something is bound to happen,” He chuckled. “Have a drink,” he said, motioning to a statue in the middle of the room. The statue was of a fairly young woman, maybe in her late twenties, smiling as she held a tray with several nozzles, each dispensing different flavors of soda. Hoses led from the nozzles into the statue’s body.
“Is that…”
“Steph volunteered,” Keegan grinned. “She’s our drink dispenser.” Adam nodded, taking a cup from the table and pouring some cola into it.
“Mind if you introduce me to everyone?” Adam asked. Keegan shrugged.
“Why not introduce to them yourself?” Keegan said. “But I can show you around to a couple of people.”
“Matt… Yasmine, this is Adam,” Keegan said.
“It’s been a long time,” Adam said.
“It has,” Yasmine, a green-and-black scaled anthro snake/naga said quietly. Keegan smiled and moved awy to give them some space.
“So, how did you become…” he motioned to Yasmine’s body.
“I asked,” Yasmine said simply. “I don’t really celebrate Halloween, but I still wanted to come, so… Keegan did this,” she said. “I really don’t mind,” she smiled. “I like this body a lot.”
“Snack,s sir?” A voice asked behind Adam, sounding bitter. Adam turned to see a blonde-haired girl wearing a Playboy Bunny uniform stand there with a tray, offering some candy, cookies, and cake.
“Kim?” Adam asked. “How did you end up here?”
“I lost a bet with Keegan,” she said sourly. “Don’t ask,” She added quickly. “For tonight, I’m a waitress… though I’d rather not,” she said. “So, are you going to take anything?” Adam hastily took some cake and Kim walked away.
“How are you doing?” Keegan asked a headless female horse anthro wearing the riding gear a jockey would wear, with a jack-o-lantern under her arm. He took a moment to register what he was seeing and took a step back.
“Realx,” said a disembodied voice coming from the direction of the headless anthro’s neck. “It’s me!” She chuckled.
“Bella?” Keegan asked, surprised, waving a hand over her neck where her head should be.
“I’m The Headless Horse-Woman!” Bella laughed manically.
“It’s starting to get old,” the jack-o-lantern said under Bella’s arm. Keegan looked down and grinned.
“Andrew?” he asked, tapping the pumpkin.
“The one and only,” Andrew replied, sounding annoyed with the tapping.
“I... convinced Andrew to come along as my talking pumpkin head,” Bella said, setting Andrew on her neck, where Andrew seemed perfectly balanced somehow. Andrew didn’t look impressed.
“I’m impressed,” Keegan said, smiling. “Have fun you two,” He chuckled, moving on.
“Keegan,” Kim said. “I’ve seen everyone at this party,” She said. “So… I’m wondering, where’s Kelly?”
“Oh, she’s handing out candy,” he smiled.
Staked into the front lawn was a female scarecrow, hanging off of the stake with a sign around its neck reading “Trick or Treat! Take Two each!” On the table in front of it was a bowl full of candy.
Derek, dressed as a wizard, walked up to the scarecrow.
“Okay…” He said. “Not that scary.” He looked around. “And no one is looking…” he grinned and took a handful of candy.
“Hey!” Kelly said, leaning forward suddenly, stopping as her straw filled wrists were tied to the stake. “The sign says take TWO!” Derek screamed, dropping all of the candy and running away. Kelly giggled and leaned back on the stake. A scarecrow transformation wasn’t something that happened every day, and scaring the pants off of people made it all worth it.
Suddenly Keegan was tackled from behind. Startled, he turned to see a tigress anthro hugging him.
“Thank you,” Julie said. “This is…” she blinked, as if realizing what she was doing. “Sorry,” she said, letting him go. “I got carried away. I don’t know why I did that,” she added quietly.
“You have the instincts of a playful kitten,” He said with a smile. “you shouldn’t be that surprised.” Julie smiled and purred as Keegan petted her ears, hugging him again before bounding off. Keegan smiled. He liked it when a plan came together.
“So, who are you two dressed as?” Yasmine asked a pair of wolf anthros, the male dressed in dark, gothic clothes, the other a female in a maid uniform. They looked like twins.
“Each other,” They both said at the same time.
“I’m Zeke,” The male said.
“Tobi,” said the female. “Keegan switched our bodies for Halloween.”
“Actually, he’s done that before when it wasn’t Halloween,” Zeke replied.
“Yeah… he does that a lot,” Tobi added.
Adam started coughing violently.
“Relax,” Bella said. “You’re just changing. Probably something in the food.” Everyone stopped to look at Adam as he grew white fur, his figure inverting and turning curvier. Several fox tails grew out of his spine as his hair grew longer, becoming white.
“A kitsune,” Andrew said. “Lucky,” he sighed with some envy. As Anna calmed down, she stared at her body.
“Not bad,” she said.
“Glad you like it,” Keegan smiled. “That makes everyone here transformed.”
“Well, not everyone,” Yasmine said, wrapping her tail around Keegan’s body. “You haven’t been changed.”
Silnce fell in the room and all of the party guests began to advance on Keegan.
“Oh, come on,” Keegan gulped.
“No, she’s right,” Kim grinned at the obvious chance of revenge. “You haven’t been changed.”
“Yeah, we have to make it fair,” Tobi agreed.
“It is Halloween, after all,” Julie purred.
“Oh, come on, guys,” Keegan gulped.
“Trick or treat!” They all yelled in unison as they jumped at Keegan.
