Time Share Part 4
Damian looked out the window, watching the sun set. Once more he was afraid of what was going to happen to him, of what was going to happen to a lot of people… all because of him. He rubbed his wrist nervously, remembering where SHE had touched him. He knew what he would turn into when the sun went down… he didn't know what happened while he was out of control, but Damian got a pretty good idea two nights ago when he woke up covered in blood. Well, not covered per se, but his hands and bare chest were covered in dried blood. Damian was unharmed, but either the monster that took control at night, or worse, someone who had fought her, had gotten hurt.
"Why did I agree to the bonding?" He wondered out loud. "She… she hasn't even tried to hold up her part of the bargain…"
Gabrielle watched as The Master gave a small, almost imperceptible shudder as he returned to his body, letting go of Keyba, who simply collapsed.
"He's over there now," He said as a group of slaves carried Keyba's body off. Gabrielle remained silent. "The idiot… powerfully strong, but an idiot…"
"You have to remember this is Keyba we are talking about," Gabrielle spoke up. "He's a warrior, not a thinker."
"Correct. But with my strongest warrior on the other side, I am almost positive he will succeed in killing Nathaniel again," The Master said. "Although…" Gabrielle watched. The Master was thinking, and she knew better than to interrupt when he wasn't finished. "You were right about one thing," The Master said. "He's a fighter, not a thinker. But, if I did have a thinker in this other world, imagine how the chances of dominating those stupid humans would increase…" Gabrielle waited. He wasn't done. "And," The Master continued. "I know just the person." The Master glared at her, but she didn't show her fear. The Master always glared at people, it was figuring out what kind of glare it was that was the trick. Right now he was giving a "you should know who I'm talking about" glare, and she knew exactly who The Master was talking about.
The Master was talking about sending her, Gabrielle, over.
The sun set behind the horizon. Damian could feel it happening, he could feel the transformations begin. His chest became more supple, feminine as breasts began to grow and his body began to change, curves appearing. Despite the changes into a girl, he grew, muscles he hadn't had before appearing as he began to get taller, his clothes shredding.
"No!" Damian said, trying to resist the growing force rising inside him. He could feel his manhood reverse, his ears and teeth becoming more pointed, a tail beginning to grow out of his spine. "I won't let you take control…"
"Sir, I don't think…"
"Are you questioning my judgement?" the Master asked. Gabrielle swallowed.
"No, Master," She said. "I just… don't understand how my helping Keyba would give you a better chance of victory."
"Keyba isn't the tallest tree in the forest," The Master said. "While he will be brutal and won't give up until Nathaniel is dead, he is hardly worth giving a whole world to." Gabrielle blinked. "That's right," The Master said. "I'm not leaving this world, despite how tempting it might be to claim this other world for my own. No, I'm going to need someone, someone I can trust, to rule the world for me, over there… someone I trust. Someone who is a thinker." The Master stared at her pointedly. Gabrielle mulled over her options. She could refuse, and risk the most terrible fate, or she could agree and help Keyba, as painful as that sounded. But, a whole world, all to herself… that sounded like a fair trade. An entire unsuspecting population under her thumb…
She smiled.
"I will accept this mission," She said. The Master gave her an approving glare and nodded, reaching out and placing his hoofed hand on her head.
Then everything went white.
By this time Damian's body was covered in red fur, his black hair and blonde bangs had grown a few inches, the back of his hair now past his, rather, her shoulders. The tail had grown longer, and she had grown almost a foot and a half. Clothes now shredded, Damian had trouble keeping the changes at bay. It was a losing fight, and he knew it. She growled as she tried to stop her mind from changing… but that, of course, was also a losing battle.
"Fool!" A very different voice exclaimed from what used to be Damian's body exclaimed. "You have no choice!" She panted, the changes complete as the tail lengthened behind her. She smiled. "Turning traitor to your race for a promise of power… what a predictable human."
In the white space that was limbo, Gabrielle stepped forward towards the door. The Master made no move from where he stood, which was (as far as Gabrielle's well-being) a good thing. She reached the door's edge and looked through the window it made in reality, waiting to see who the unlucky sap would be that she would control.
The images stopped, revealing a thin, lanky teenager with blonde and black hair. He seemed to be awake, still, which surprised her; it was night time, surely humans were asleep? Perhaps this one would be different.
The human jumped at the sight of the door.
"Relax," Gabrielle said.
"What are you?" He exclaimed, backing up. Fear, She thought. That's a weakness… but he has potential. She was usually right about these things.
"I am someone who wants to help you," Gabrielle said. She studied the dimly lit room. Pictures of a dark nature lined the wall, the bed the human was backed up against was black… most things here hinted at a person with a dark attitude towards life.
"Help me?" The human asked. "Help me how?"
"Do you ever feel like you were… meant for something?" Gabrielle asked. "Something greater than what you are now?" She was playing off of everyone's idea that there was a destiny, that there was something that they deserved for their hard work or for being good. The human paused, then nodded. "I am here to help you reach that stage," She insisted. "I'm here to help you achieve greatness."
"Greatness?" He asked. "You mean… you mean power?"
"Yes," Gabrielle grinned. It all came down to power. "Exactly."
"Over what?"
"The world," She laughed. "What else?"
"What do I have to do?" The human asked hesitantly.
"For now? Merely touch my hand," Gabrielle said, resting her hand on the membrane of the doorway. "And our work will begin."
Damian nodded, and did so.
Then, everything changed.
Gabrielle peeled off the remnants of Damian's clothes, grinning as she opened the window Damian was staring out of.
"Now, to hunt down Nathaniel," She said, climbing out. "And to kill him."
