Stuffed 3-D

"Got everything?" Keegan asked as he lowered the welding mask.

"Yup," Adam said, backing up. "I think we finished it."

"Help me move it," Keegan said, grabbing half of the large rectangle. Adam grabbed the other side, moving it from the table in the basement lab all the way upstairs to the living room.

"Are you sure you got the measurements right?" Adam asked, eyeing the stand sticking out of the wall.

"I measured everything just fine," Keegan said. "Trust me, I'm a doctor."

"No you're not," Adam said as the two lifted the box onto the wall. "You just want people to think you are."

"You got me there," Keegan agreed, stepping back. "Well, we did it!"

"Yup," Adam smiled. "A homemade, eighty inch flatscreen, HDTV with DVDR capabilities… and stereoscophic 3D."

"Indeed," Keegan said, marvelling the television set. "The trap is set. Now we just need to bait it." He picked up the phone and dialled a number.

"Hello?" Tobias asked.

"Hey, Tobias," Keegan said. "It's me."

"Hello, Keegan," Tobias said. "What's up?"

"Well, I just created a new invention," He said. "Want to…"

"No!" Tobias exclaimed. "No, I will not come over there and be part of your experiment!"

"You don't even know what it was I created," Keegan said. He heard Tobias sigh.

"What did you create?" He asked.

"A television," Keegan grinned. "And not just any kind: a HDTV with 3D capabilities." There was a pause on the other sie of the line.

"Did you… invent something normal?" Tobias asked, surprised. "I mean, does it TG people? TF them?"

"Nope to both," Keegan said. "I mean, it's better than a 3D television you can buy at an electronics store, but it still cost a lot to make."

"Better?"

"Yeah, it automatically turns any DVD or Blu-ray disc into 3D, all on its own, so you don't need a separate drive or a specific type of disc." Keegan listened, knowing that he had Tobias interested now.

"And… what would you want me over for?" Tobias asked.

"Well, two reasons, the first is to make sure the 3D works, the second, I think we should hang out, we haven't really done that, ever, and maybe now would be a good time to start."

"Hang out? Like… just do normal stuff?" Tobias was really surprised now. "Are you sure this isn't a trap to TG me?"

"No, it's not. I've got a friend I'd like you to meet, his name's Adam. He's cool, I was just thinking the three of us could watch a movie." There was a moment of silence.

"What time?" He asked,

A few minutes later, Keegan hung up. "Game, set, match," He said. "Do you have the glasses ready?" Adam nodded, pulling out three sets of glasses that would allow them to see the 3D effects.

"This one is Tobias', the hypnotic suggestions are preloaded and ready to go," He said. "As soon as Tobias starts watching the movie, he'll have the uncontrollable urge to go downstairs into the lab, and…"

"Perfect," Keegan said, taking the glasses. "Then let's get ready for our special guest, shall we?" He laughed.

About half an hour later, there was a knock on the door. Keegan opened it, smiling.

"Hey Tobias," He said. "Meet Adam, Adam, Tobias."

"Nice to meet you," Tobias said, shaking Adam's hand.

"Likewise," Adam replied.

"So, what's the movie?" Tobias asked.

"We thought you should pick," Adam said, pointing to a pile of DVD's on the table. Tobias browsed them for a bit before handing one to Keegan, who popped it into the tray.

"Scott Pilgrim Versus the World, nice choice," He said, grinning. In truth, all of the movies in the pile were chosen beforehand, all of them having lots of flashing colours and lights, perfect to induce a hypnotic trance. The movie started, and Keegan handed them the glasses.

"Do we really need these?" Tobias asked.

"Yeah," Keegan said. "I can't make it holographic, as much as that would be awesome." Tobias shrugged and put them on.

"I look like Buddy Holly."

"Yeah, and I'm Mary Tyler Moore," Adam laughed, putting his one.

"Let's just watch the movie, guys," Keegan smirked. Every so often he glanced at Tobias, waiting.

Sure enough, thirty minutes later, the hypnotic sights took effect… but on the wrong person.

Adam stood up suddenly, walking out of the room. Keegan looked at Adam questioningly, it was only when he saw Adam's blank stare and open, slack jaw that he realized that he must've given them all the wrong glasses…

"Is Adam okay?" Tobias asked, worried.

"Yeah, he's just getting a snack," Keegan lied.

"If he's getting a snack, why is he going downstairs to your lab…" Tobias said, eyeing Keegan with suspicion.

"Because… the snacks are downstairs," He replied. Tobias stood up and followed Adam's trail. "Hey, don't go down there," Keegan continued, following them.

In the lab, Adam stood at a table, holding a strange gun-like device. Keegan recognized it immediately, they had planned on using it against Tobias… but now that Adam had gotten the hypnotic suggestions instead, it seemed that Adam was going to use it on himself.

"Adam?" Tobias asked. "Are you okay?" Keegan winced. Are you okay? was the trigger phrase they had planned on using. And, like clockwork, Adam raised the gun to his face and pulled the trigger.

Fur spread across his face as his cheeks puffed out, now filled with stuffing. The fur spread, black and orange stripes traveling down his neck and around his body. Tobias stepped forward and Keegan stopped him as Adam dropped the gun, fur traveling up his hands and turning them into useless stubs for paws.

"What's happening to him?" Tobias exclaimed as Adam began to shrink and grow limp.

"He's turning into a plushie," Keegan explained. "Judging by the fur pattern and size, I'd say… an Arcanine plush." By this time, Adam had disappeared into his clothes.

"How do you know this?" Tobias asked, staring at Keegan with anger and suspicion. "How is this possible? How did this happen?" Keegan sighed.

"From the top, this was an elaborate trap," He said. "The TV upstairs yes, is a more useful and better version than other 3D television sets are, but that was just the topping of the cake. What this thing was, was revenge for turning me into a plushie two weeks ago."

"What?" Tobias exclaimed. "That happened only because you took your time turning me back from a plushie!"

"It's not my fault you crawled into a stuffing machine at work and got turned into a plushie, and it's definitely not my fault that we didn't recognize you for four days!" Keegan retorted.

"Alright, but what about the slow process back?" Tobias asked.

"I made that cure in six hours running on two hours of sleep," Keegan said. "There was no way of knowing what kind of effects there were, or how fast the transformation would have been."

"So this thing was revenge," Tobias said, shaking his head as he moved to the table, picking up the small Arcanine plush. "What else?"

"The 3D glasses we gave you were supposed to induce hypnotic suggestions that would compel you to come down here into the lab and use that," Keegan said. "On yourself. Unfortunatly, we must have mixed up the glasses, and Adam ended up with yours instead."

"How long does it last?" Tobias asked, examining the plush toy.

"Seven days. On the fifth day the reversal starts, and by the seventh it's like the transformation never happened." Keegan explained. "The hypnotism's warn off by now, too, Adam's mind is in control once more… unfortunately he can't move or speak."

"But he can hear and see us?" Tobias asked. "And think?" Keegan nodded. "What do we do with him?"

"I keep him here for a week, tell Kelly to take care of him, and all ends well," He explained. "Now, let's go upstairs, finish watching the movie, and let bygones be bygones?"

"No," Tobias said, spinning and pointing the gun at Keegan's face. "No, not this time." Keegan stared at the gun. "You tricked me, you planned on turning me into a stuffed animal… I can't let you get away with this." Keegan nodded, then snapped his fingers. Red lights turned on.

"Don't move a muscle," Keegan told him. Tobias ignored him, thinking that this was another one of his traps, and stepped forward, the muzzle pointed about an inch from Keegan's face. A white spotlight shone on Tobias, and he froze.

"What is this?" He asked.

"It's a security system," Keegan said. "The turrets that are watching you right now are monitoring your every move. If you move even an inch, hell, if you pull that trigger; if you do anything more than breathe, a second gun much like the one you're holding will fire and turn you into a stuffed animal. But, surrender, I'll call them off and we can go upstairs and continue to watch the movie. It's your choice," Keegan said, staring calmly at Tobias. Tobias thought for a moment.

"I think I'll take one for the team," He smiled, pulling the trigger. Keegan fell back as black fur grew on his face and his eyes turned to buttons, ears perking up and turning feline as the fur traveled down his neck. A second report followed and Tobias felt his mouth and throat swell with stuffing, eventually feeling his insides being replaced. He stumbled back and fell onto his side, facing Keegan as Keegan finished transforming into a black cat plushie. Tobias wondered what he was turning into as a grey muzzle poked into view and he shrank.

Tobias lay there, staring at Keegan, who had been long hidden by his clothes, for what seemed like forever, although it was only about one hour. Eventually, Kelly, wondering what all the silence in the house was about, went downstairs and positively squealed in delight at the sight of the three new stuffed animals.

"Omigod this is sooo cool!" She said, cuddling all three of them. "I'm gonna take great care of you!"

Keegan sighed, this would be the second time he fell under the care of Kelly, and he had a feeling it wouldn't be the last.

Tobias decided to just go with it, after all this would be the third time for him as a toy. He knew Kelly would take just great care of them.

Adam, new to all of this, simply didn't care. This felt great, and he was getting to know his new friends in more ways than one. Yes, he could get used to this type of lifestyle quite quickly.
