The School Part Two
Tasha met up with Trisha after school.
"You made it out of there alive?" Trisha asked. Tasha nodded.
"Yeah," She said. "And I learned some things to go on top of it all." She explained of what Damon had accused her of.
"You two, and the other girl who showed up a few days ago, all claim to have been here since the start of the semester. I keep a record of everybody, and you weren't in it."
Tasha didn't waste time tackling Damon, "Run!" she exclaimed. Trisha stormed off, running past Star, who had just arrived.
"That's enough!" Abby exclaimed, steeling her arms and pulling Tasha off Damon. "Why are you here, Tasha?"
"I'm looking for something, and one thing lead to another." Tasha stammered, "I don't want to cause trouble, guys, but I think you should know there's a massive energy buildup in this school."
"Why would any massive energy be building up in Rosental High School?" asked Damon. Abby coughed and Star giggled. Damon nodded, "Point taken. So why are you here?"
"If the woman of steel would let me go..." said Tasha, and Abby let her loose, "I can help figure out what's going on."
"You will, under my supervision," said Damon. Tasha nodded, "Fair enough."</b>
"So, they know about the energy anomaly?" Trisha asked.
"Not only that, but someone else knows," Tasha said. "Another girl, who mysteriously appeared at the school as well, has been digging around." Trisha looked over at her as she drove them home
"Another girl? Someone else sneaked into the school?" Tasha nodded.
"Someone found the same thing we did," She said. "And they've been following the same trail. It's only a matter of time before they discover Damon's lab as well. The only question is
"
"Are they with us, or against us?" Trisha finished, and Tasha nodded.
That night, their cover was nearly blown. The phone rang, and Keegan picked up.
"Hello?" he asked.
"Hey, it's Andrew," The familiar voice said. "Do you want to hang out or something tonight?"
"Sorry man, I've got homework," He sighed, staring at a textbook with several math equations that served as the homework due in Tasha's math class the next day.
"Oh, sorry to hear," Andrew said, then paused. "Wait
didn't university end for you two months ago?" Keegan froze.
"um
yeah. It's summer school now. I'm taking online courses," he said quickly.
"Oh," Andrew said, sounding like he didn't believe Keegan. "Well, maybe another night then."
"Yeah," Keegan agreed. "that would be best."
"Later," Andrew said, and hung up. Keegan gave a sigh of relief.
"I think he bought it," He muttered to himself.
The next day, Tasha sighed. Kelly walked into the living room and paused.
"Um
why are you Tasha? It's a Saturday, no school today."
"I'm going to investigate," She said. "I've found where Damon lives
for being a scientist, he doesn't' know how to cover his tracks very well."
"So, what are you going to do?" Kelly asked. "Interrogate him?"
'No, more like
persuasion," She said. Kelly facepalmed.
"You're going to flirt with him, aren't you?" She asked.
"Just a little," was the reply. "just to get information, then I'm gone. If something goes wrong, I have knockout gas I can use to escape." Kelly sighed.
"Fine, just
don't do anything stupid."
"You know me," Tasha smiled.
About four hours later, Tasha walked in and slammed the door shut.
"How did it
" was all Kelly could say.
"I screwed up," Tasha said, pale
well, paler than normal. "I screwed up big time."
"What happened?" She asked as Tasha went over to a TF device and changed back into Keegan.
"Everything was fine, until
well, suffice to say I eventually managed to convince Damon to show me his lab
"
"You kissed him, didn't you?" Kelly groaned.
"On the cheek," Keegan said defensively. "It meant nothing. What happened is, I eventually got into the lab and
may have mentioned a couple of
improvements that could be made to his lab. When he asked how I knew all of that, I said I didn't know, but his pet
Edi, or something, caught on that I was lying and I had to use the knockout gas to get out of there."
"Did you leave anything behind?" Kelly asked.
"No, be he knows now that we're definitely not who we say we are," Keegan said. "I don't expect them to help with us in our investigation
in fact, I'm pretty sure that we're the ones who are going to get investigated now."
Kelly just glared at him.
"You have a way of messing everything up," She snapped. "Good job." Keegan held his head in his hands.
"Ugh, I screwed up
" He said. "There's only one thing we can do."
"And what's that?" Kelly asked.
"Prepare for the worst."
