Holiday @ The Genetic Park 4

Oh, joy. How did I get myself into this corner? Why hadn't I seen this coming? As I watched him come towards me, I backed up into my little apartment, trying to find something, anything, to stop him. He saw me looking for a weapon, and growled.

"You're not going to stop me," He said.

The worst part was, I knew he was right.

I suppose it started halfway through the game. It was the top of the sixth, and I was up at bat. Dave was watching me. The pitcher for the other team (an anthro cougar) threw the ball, and I swung. The ball went flying, and I managed to get tho third base. Joe was next up at bat, and thanks to her I managed to score a run, but it was close. The ball had landed and the catcher had to decide between getting Joe out, or me. Deciding to try and get me out and getting the lead, she threw the ball to home plate. I dove, sliding in the dust and touching home a split second before the ball got there.

"Safe!" Dave shouted. I got up, brushing muself off, and headed back to the bench.

The next time I was up at bat, I heard Dave whisper to me, "Nice ass." I turned and glared at him; he gave me a playful smirk in return.

"You'd love that, wouldn't you?" I asked

"Love what?"

"My foot up your ass," I told him, and turned back to the pitcher.

He walked quickly towards me, and I can smell the alcohol on his breath. I didn't understand, why didn't I just close the door before he could get in? Why hadn't I called for help? Why didn't I stay with the others? My life was in danger, and there was no one around who could help me out.

I got back to the bench, not as lucky as the last time I had gone up.

"Hey, you made it to second, that's great," Mitch said to me.

"I know," I said, sitting down and grabbing my bottle of water. "How ahead are we?"

"It's seven runs to eight," Joe told me. "We're still ahead."

"Heads up guys, the other team just gave us a challenge," Frank said. "The losing team pays for the winner's beer and snacks!" We all looked at each other, amazed.

"We'll do it," We all said at once.

I reached my room and quickly ran inside, closing it and locking it. Brit was still out with Jon, she wouldn't be back for awhile. I was on my own. There was banging on the door.

"Let me in!" He shouted.

"No!" I cried. I've never felt so afraid in my life, or so weak… all I could do was keep running, and here I was, cornered in my own room.

"Wrong answer," He growled, starting to push down the door. He had the strength to do it, too. I tried pushing my bed up against the door, but I nearly burst into tears as I discovered the legs were stuck into the concrete floor.

The party was a great success. Everyone on our team had at least two beers, I knew for sure that two was all I was risking, who knew what my limits would be in this body?

"Good job on your win," I heard a voice behind me say. I turned and saw Dave.

"Thanks," I said, sipping the second beer. "You did great, too." Dave laughed.

"Yeah, I sure made those calls like a pro," He said, sitting down. He motioned for me to join him at the table. I did.

"So, what's your name? You never told me, and I couldn't really hear it over the general cheers of your team." I smiled uneasily.

"My name's Keegan," I said. "I'm a TG." Dave froze for a few moments.

"Really?" He asked, startled.

"Really," I nodded. "I was going to tell you earlier, but I never got a chance."

"Do you think like a…" He tried to say the words, but I shook my head.

"No, I'm still male inside," I said. "I'm sorry, I knew you were interested in me."

The door breaks a bit and I can see his face. I've found a complimentary package of coffee grounds and I opened it, throwing them in his eyes. It was the closest thing I could find. He shouted in pain and anger.

"You bitch!" He shouted. I turned, running to the other side of the room. I tried to see if there was a way to get out through the window.

"Well, yeah," Dave said. "I was, but… you didn't have a TG pin on…" I shook my head.

"I forgot it in my room," I explained. "I should've worn it, I know." Dave shook his head.

"Well, I guess it's good I found out now," He laughed. "And not… you know." I nodded. "Well, this is awkward."

"A little bit," I agreed.

The window wouldn't open far enough and I briefly wondered whether I should break it open or not. There was a smashing sound, and I felt him grab the back of my neck.

"Nice try," He growled, pulling me back. I shouted, and he hit me. Stars swam in front of my vision as I was thrown to the floor.

I had explained my story to Dave, and he was sympathetic. I realized just how late it had gotten, and decided to go ahead and go back to our apartment. I said good night to all my friends, and was about to leave when I felt someone tap me on the shoulder. I turned. It was Dave.

"Can I at least walk you home?" He asked. I decided it'd be best, seeing as it was dark, and bad things usually happened then. The two of us left, talking as if we were two buddies coming back from a party. We laughed about the hilarious events of the day, and we talked about our lives outside of the park.

I felt myself being pulled up and thrown again, landing on the bed.

"Why?" I managed to mumble out. I felt something wet trickle down my face and I knew it was blood.

"Because," He hissed. "You're mine."

I said goodnight to Dave outside. I turned, putting the key into the door and unlocking it. Then, I heard someone shuffling out of the trees behind me. I turned, startled.

"Oh, it's just you," I said. "Why are you here?"

"I came to ask you a few questions," Frank asked me, his wolf form stumbling towards he. He stopped about ten feet away. "Are you gay?"

"What? Frank, you know me, I'm completely straight," I answered, confused. "You know that."

"It's just, you seemed pretty close to your tiger friend just now," he said, sneering. "I can't help but wonder, what are you doing? Are you really straight? Or are you playing for the other team now?"

"Frank, how much have you had to drink?" I asked, getting scared. This wasn't like him.

"Not that I have anything against it," He said, ignoring my question. "Honestly, I don't. I only ask," Frank said, advancing. "Because if you've started thinking like a girl, then maybe you should start acting like one."

"Frank, what are you doing?"

"What only a male and a female can do," He replied, licking his lips as he got within arms reach. I felt faint. I'm going to be raped by one of my best friends, I realized. I stepped forwards and slapped Frank, hoping to force him out of his drunken madness.

"What the hell?" He shouted.

"Snap out of it!" I yelled back at him. "You're drunk!" Frank grabbed my arm and stopped me from either hitting him again, or getting away. Then, he pulled me close and pressed his lips on mine. With my free hand, I grabbed his shoulder and kneed him in the crotch. HE doubled over, and I pushed him away. Frank looked up at me, a murderous look in his eyes.

"Oh, you are going to pay for that," He growled, and came forward. I backed up into my little apartment, trying to find something, anything, to stop him. He saw me looking for a weapon, and growled.

"You're not going to stop me," He said.

The worst part was, I knew he was right.

Frank had me pinned, and I could feel some blood trickle down my fur from where Frank must've hit me. I was still dazed, but I tried to fight back.

"Frank, don't do this," I whimpered. "Please."

"Oh, I'm going to do this," He said, grinning. "I'm doing it." I cried out, and he hit me again, silencing me.

"Shut up!" He yelled. Then, I heard a crash. Both of us froze and someone thudded in.

"What the hell are you doing?" I heard someone shout. Frank turned but was pushed off me. I heard a loud thud and Frank fell off the bed, soon getting up and leaping at my savior. There was a shattering sound, and a body fell to the floor. I lay still, hardly daring to breathe and losing consciousness. I saw someone stand over me and realized, This is it. He's really going to do it.

"Keegan? Keegan, can you hear me?" Dave asked, pulling me into a sitting position. "Keegan, are you all right?"

I remember mumbling something incoherent.

Then I remember blackness.
