Holiday @ The Genetic Park 3

I knew who, exactly, to find first. It made sense, and I couldn't believe I didn't think of it before. After all, what else was last night for, if not to make new friends? I quickly walked around the area, using my new senses to identify my fellow "sessionals" as I began to call ourselves.

Eventually, I managed to catch a whiff of Mitch's scent, and I followed it to a small clearing. Mitch was talking to a female wolf, and I could tell they were deep in conversation. I waited for a break, then politely walked in. The two of them turned.

"Oh, hey Keegan," Mitch said. "This is Amanda."

"Hi," I said to her.

"So, you're the scary tiger chick?" She asked, smiling.

"Well, I'm not sure about 'scary'…" I replied. Amanda laughed.

"I'm joking, but Mitch told quite a story about how he ran into you." Mitch grinned sheepishly and I gave her a smirk.

"Well, anyways, a few of my friends are organizing a baseball game, and we're short a few players," I said. "Would you guys like to join in?"

"No," Mitch said, at the same time Amanda said, "Sure."

"I'm not that good at baseball," Mitch explained.

"It's just a fun game, no one's keeping track or anything," I told her.

"Come on, it'll be fun," Amanda insisted.

"I don't know… can we play soccer instead?" Mitch asked, a pained expression on her face. I shook my head.

"We only reserved the baseball field," I said. "Only for today, also."

"Please?" Amanda asked. "We can be on the same team!"

It only took four minutes to convince Mitch to join.

My next target was Marcus. I found the vixen the same way I found Mitch, by wandering around, looking for a familiar scent. Eventually, I found her in a clearing with a couple other people.

"Marcus!" I exclaimed, waving. The vixen turned and smiled uneasily.

"Keegan, right? It's nice to see you again," She said.

"You too," I said. "I can see your busy" I gave a little wave to the other two, a leopard and a panther anthro, and turned back to Marcus. "But I was wondering, a few friends of mine are getting a game of baseball together, but we're short a few players. I was wondering if you'd like in?"

"Well…" Marcus said. I could tell she was uneasy about the whole thing.

"Mitch is going to be there," I said. "The others, too, if I can find them."

"Alright," She said, liking the idea a bit more after that. I told her and her friends where and when, and then we set off in our separate directions.

Next, I tried to find Joe. I didn't remember if he and his girlfriend had made up or not, but I hoped the two of them had reconciled. Wandering around until I found them, I realized that it had been fifteen minutes already.

"Better hurry it up," I thought out loud.

"Talking to yourself, Keegan?" A voice asked. I turned around, seeing no one there. "Up here." I looked up to see a raccoon girl staring down at me.

"Oh, he Joe, I was looking for you," I said to her.

"I know, I ran into Mitch earlier," Joe said. "A baseball game, huh? Sounds like
fun."

'Yup. We're supposedly meeting there in half an hour, hopefully we'll have enough people to play a few innings."

"Cool! I'll be there," Joe said. "As long as my girlfriend can come along?"

"Of course, the more the merrier," I said. "You guys figured things out?"

"Yup, we talked it out," Joe smiled. "Kate and I will be there."

By this time only a couple more people were left, and all I had to do was find them. Twenty minutes had passed since I last split up from my friends, so I had to hurry as I tried to find Rosie. Soon following the sound of women talking, I walked to find a group of five or six female anthros and one anthro bull. I walked up to them.

"Hey girls," I began, "Do you mind if I borrow Rosie for a while?" They said no, they didn't mind, and I explained what we had planned. Rosie said it sounded interesting, but she wasn't sure whether or not she could play, because of how big she was compared to most of the others. I reminded her that we could always use a catcher. Rosie agreed to meet us at the field.

It was on my way to find Leo that my problems started. Or rather, problem.

He was a big guy, broad, strong, the kind of guy who would have no shortage of women wanting him. His fur was white on black, and he was a tiger like me.

And he had an eye on me. I knew that look, I've given that look myself, and I couldn't blame him for thinking I was a real girl; for all biological purposes, I was.

"So, that bull guy you were talking to, is he your boyfriend?" He asked me.

"No," I said, laughing. "She's just a friend," I explained, deciding to use the "correct" pronoun.

"Oh, a TG? Yeah, this place seems full of them half the time," He told me. I nodded, not wanting to seem to abrupt, but I really needed to get back to the others.

"Yeah, well, it happens," I said nonchalantly. "Look, it was nice to meet you, but I've got to go." I started walking back to the field.

"Okay," He said, following me. "Mind if I come with you? I overheard you talking to the bull about a baseball game." I thought for a few moments. It would be good, just in case everyone else couldn't find enough people. "I could be the umpire, I used to call some of the games," He continued. I finally agreed, and I asked what his name was. He grinned.

"Tony," He said. I groaned. "Just kidding, I'm Dave," He added quickly.

"Great, you're a comedian," I smirked. "Just, don't pull that one on everyone else, 'kay? Or I'll have to smack you."

"Fair enough," Dave said. "So, what's your name?" I opened my mouth and was about to answer when a voice called out "About time!" I looked and saw Jon.

"How many people did you get?" I asked.

"Enough," Jon said. "We've got enough."

I grinned.

"Let the games begin."
