Holiday @ The Genetic Park 2

"See? That wasn't so bad," Brit said to me as we walked outdoors. I had to admit, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be; the clothes Brit had picked out for me fit fairly well, it was just kinda weird for me, since they were women's clothes.

"Oh, crap!" I exclaimed.

"What's wrong?" Brit asked, startled.

"They gave me a pin," I said. "It had 'TG' on it, it's supposed to help me out." Brit nodded.

"You left it in the bathroom," She told me. "I saw it, it's still there." I breathed a sigh of relief.

"For a second, I thought I lost it," I told her. "I'll meet you later, I'm going back to get it."

"Nonsense," She told me, grabbing my arm. "You'll be fine without it for a day, won't you?

"But…"

"Besides, we're already late," She told me. "You spent so much time in the
bathroom, I would've thought you were a real girl!" I blushed, not telling her the real reason I took so long. Instead, I looked around and realized that I had no idea where I was. Yesterday I had been concentrating so hard on stopping my change, and then the session, that I didn't get a chance to explore and look around. Right now, we were walking through a forest. My senses were in overload; I could smell almost everything, I could hear the birds, I could hear people talking…

"Where is everyone meeting again?" I asked.

"They said to follow their scent," Brit told me, just as mystified as I was. I nodded, thinking it made sense. Soon, I managed to sense something familiar.

"I think I found them," I told her, and she nodded, agreeing that she sensed it too. We followed the trail through the trees, eventually reaching a clearing in the trees. Standing there were four figures, an anthro horse, another anthro mouse, an anthro grey wolf, and an anthro fox. They looked to the two of us as we emerged from the trees, and they all smiled at me.

"Keegan! About time you're awake!" Derek, the horse, said to me. Brit ran up to Jon, the other mouse, and they embraced.

"Yeah, we were wondering if you needed to go to the medics," Ted joked. "You were so out of it last night, I had to carry you back!" Frank, the wolf, nodded in agreement. Like last night, I was taken aback by how… normal they were treating me. It was as if I wasn't a girl.

"Th-thanks, for worrying," I said weakly. "But I'm still alive."

"Great, 'cause we were heading over to one of the fields," Frank told me. "Jon managed to reserve one of the baseball fields, I didn't even know we could do that!" I grinned.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" I asked them. Baseball was one of my favorite sports to watch, and I was pretty good at bat. Normally I wouldn't want to play, but we were here to have fun, and these were my friends.

"Let's go then," Frank said, and off we went.

The field was a standard baseball field. Since this wasn't a real match, we didn't bother changing.

"Well, we've only got six people," Jon said. "How about three on three?"

"That… doesn't sound like it could work," Brit pointed out.

"We'll give it a shot, we've got the field for a few hours."

"No, really," I agreed. The others had decided to see what equipment they could gather up. "We won't be able to do a three on three game of baseball, that's just a stupid idea, and we'd look stupid if we tried."

"Fine," Jon finally relented. "Jeez, don't be such a girl." He tossed the ball up in the air. Time seemed to slow to a crawl as I took a few steps forward. Jon caught the ball and realized what he just said, and an apologetic looked appeared on his face.

"Oh, shit, I'm sorry," He managed to say. In less than a second, I had brought my fist back to punch him, but I stopped myself. This was a regular joke among out group of friends, Jon just said it without realizing it. It was a habit. I forced myself to calm down and lowered my fist.

"Don't worry about it," I told him. "But next time, I will punch you. Then you can tell everyone that a girl hit you." We had a bit of a laugh, as if we were joking. But I was serious, and I think Jon knew that.

"Okay, so, how are we going to find enough people for a legit team?" Jon asked. I shrugged.

"We'll just ask around, I guess," I said. "I'm sure we'll find some people to play." We all agreed; we'd have half an hour to find enough people The six of us split up, each of us on a mission.

If I had known what was about to happen, the first thing I would've done was head back to the cabin to get the TG pin. But I didn't.

And that's where my problems started.
