The following are tales featuring the girls in Fire Emblem Fates and Fire Emblem Awakening. What you are about to see are random yet connected events of head detachment that is filled with mystery until the answer reveals itself.
...
In the kingdom of Noir, Lady Camilla went to her room to retire for the night alone. She went to a dressing mirror as she took a seat and had one look at herself. She looks a bit lower down and saw the biggest thing that defines her, her chest.
"I really miss the days when people can just look at me in the eye. Even though they look down on me," Camilla said, "Can't really get rid of these though."
Camilla cupped her chest before leaning on her head, "To think I thought these were a blessing. No one took me seriously anymore."
Camilla felt herself sliding a bit as she moans over her bad day. Feeling sleepy little by little until she felt herself fall on the table. The princess expected to sleep on the table except she felt a sharp pain on her neck and cheek. She tried to get up only to feel restraint for some reason. She tried moving only for her to suddenly fall yet again.
"Whoa!" Camilla cried as she felt the whole world was rolling.
When the rolling finally stopped, Camilla looks around herself and tried to make out to what happened. Everything seems bigger than usual and she feel so numb. She could still feel her face which is the only thing she can feel. She tried to get up again with futile results. She stopped once she saw a giant that left her confused.
"No... it can't be," Camilla said, "Impossible!"
Camilla is now looking up at her own headless body. Said body was wondering around, looking for her head as she kept her hands out to try to feel for the head.
"I only hope help is on the way," Camilla said, "I can't do much in this pitiful state nor can I get my body's attention. Calling out for her would be pointless and I have no control of my body."
Camilla's head lie on the ground hopeless as her body does a bad job at finding her head. All hopes seems lost until suddenly her bedroom door was kicked open as her lovely retainers Selena appear with a sword at hand. Said retainer dropped her weapon the moment she saw Camilla in her disembodied state.
"I thought I heard some noise, but to think..." Selena said as she was speechless.
"I know it's strange," Camilla said, "But do you mind helping me get back on my body?"
"Of course Lady Camilla!" Selena said as she seems freaked out.
"Do hurry as I know that the sight of me like this must be hideous," Camilla said as Selena picks up her head.
Selena assumed that it was magic as Camilla's neck showed no signs of wounds or cuts. She placed Camilla's head back on her body and held it straight and still. However, Camilla's head immediately fell off the moment Selena lets go.
"I got you!" Selena said as she caught Camilla's head in time, "Maybe I'll get a nurse to stitch you back on."
"No," Camilla said, "Even if you stitch my head back on, I would not be able to feel my body. When you attached me, I still felt like a head. Whoever made this spell made sure that practical means of fixing this be pointless."
Selena set Camilla's head on a pillow of her bed, "Don't worry Lady Camilla. I'll figure something out and get some help!"
Selena quickly went to get help as Camilla's head is now all alone again except in a more pitiful state. The head looks at her body who still struggled to find her as she was walking around and tripped here and there. Camilla felt the pain occasionally but it does go away the moment she does not think about it.
"I guess I can just go to sleep," Camilla said, "This might be a dream or my dear Selena is doing her best for me."
Camilla closed her eyes as she felt surprisingly comfortable on her pillow. She then drifted into a deep slumber while her body drifted somewhere else. Specially out of Camilla's room. Now Camilla the head has nobody with her.
...
In the country of Ylisse, we follow Severa and Cynthia as they are in the market place and in trouble. After some haggling gone wrong and Cynthia makings things worse, the two walked away from said merchant and could not get anything good from them. At worst, some random insults that made no sense and banned from getting anything from said merchant.
"I can handle myself you know," Severa said as she crosses her arms in anger.
"What else can I do?" Cynthia said, "I can't just simply do nothing!"
"You just have to mouth off about justice and all when it has nothing to do with this!" Severa said, "Dealing with Anna is hard enough when it comes to prices, but I have to babysit you as well!"
"Personally think it was the other way around," Cynthia said.
"Excuse me?!" Severa shouted.
"You were the one whining and being unreasonable," Cynthia said, "I just had to restraint you but you made things worse. You got to admit, you were acting like a baby there."
"Oh why you!" Severa said as she proceeds to punch Cynthia in the face.
The red twin tailed hair girl expected to see Cynthia moan and complain about the pain as usual, but something was off this time. For some odd reason, Cynthia's head ended up missing after said punch. Severa stares at the body for a moment and slowly develops a sense of fear over what she has done.
"Oh no... did I just kill her?" Severa asked as she looked around.
She and Cynthia were meant to be at an empty part of the marketplace or the outskirts of the kingdom so there were no witnesses. While that is one less problem, it doesn't excuse Severa's crimes.
"I'm so sorry Cynthia!" Severa cried as she was about to be in tears only to realize something was off. There was no blood.
Severa saw that Cynthia's empty neck was just skin and there was no wounds or anything. The oddest thing was that the body was sort of moving on its own. This made Severa mad as can only assume one thing as she drew her sword.
"Alright! Whoever did this Hocus Pocus thing, fix her!" Severa threatened as she looked around for anyone responsible, "I'll fix this Cynthia."
However, she was left open for an unexpected attack as Cynthia's body grabbed onto Severa's head for some odd reason and twisted it a bit before popping it off like a lid. Severa gave a short shriek as she felt herself being lifted off her body and held by Cynthia's headless body.
"What do you think you are doing?!" Severa shouted as she realized something, "Oh right, no head."
Severa's head was placed on the shoulders of Cynthia only for herself to fall off. Her own body caught her by one of her twin tails. Cynthia's body proceed to grab the other tail as the two bodies seem to be playing tug of war with Severa's head.
"Hey! Your messing up my hair!" Severa complained, "You dumb bodies! Stop it!"
The bodies kept at it for a while much to the annoyance of Severa's head. They eventually stop but they thought of an idea that the head does not like.
"No no no no no! We'll look stupid like this!" Severa's head said.
As it turns out, the bodies tied the tails of Severa's hair onto their necks so that they can share the head. The bodies walk happily back to town, hands together, and Severa's head being their source of vision of sorts.
"I wonder how's Cynthia is doing," Severa's head before she is about to face public humiliation.
...
Felicia is a maid for Lady Corrin and a pretty bad one. The only reason she remains here was due to sentimental reasons, her efforts in the war, and she was a laughing stock for the staff to enjoy. Even so, the maid does her best to do her job well as one.
For today however, her job is a bit busy as Camilla's body went off somewhere there is a fear of people losing their heads. This news shudders the maid as she can't focus with the fear that it may happen to her or Corrin.
"If I'm clumsy with my head on, who knows what would happen if I'm clumsy without a head," Felicia said as she is preparing tea and snacks.
She was going business as usual as the tea kettle was boiling with some of the water splashing on the floor. No big surprise, this is just asking Felicia to slip on the mess that she made. This wasn't the first time this happened. Felicia fell on her back as usual, felt some head trauma, struggled to get back up, and got back to work while cleaning up her mess. She has slipped and hit her head so often that she doesn't really feel the pain anymore and she sometimes blank out for a bit. When she has her mind cleared, another accident is sure to follow.
"Ah man, not again!" Felicia said as she was about to get cleaning, "Wait... did I just clean up without causing another mess?"
Felicia was about to wipe her eyes and she did. However, it felt as if someone else was doing it for her. The maid look around and saw that the kitchen was tidied up more and showed no signs of an accident.
"Flora probably bailed me out again," Felicia said, "I should probably thank her laterrrr....."
Felicia was interrupted by the sight of a certain maid doing her job and efficiently. Said maid was getting the tea ready and the snacks all baked and ready to eat. The aroma was powerful that it almost made Felicia fall back again as she never seen or smell anything like it. But, after a good look at the maid, it turns out that she has no head.
"Eek! A headless maid! I'm so sorry for your head! I'll be sure to find it!" Felicia screamed as she tried to run away only to realize that she can't, "We got trouble! I am the head!"
Felicia realized that she was only a helpless and useless head while her body kept working. All the head can do is moan and complain about her state.
"Now I'm more useless than before!" Felicia whined, "To think my body is doing a better job than me."
Suddenly Felicia's body picks up her head and placed her close to a cake as the body carefully put the cream on with precision and accuracy. Felicia closed her eyes as she said, "Please just be a dream. Please just be a dream."
Suddenly Felicia felt some cream landed on her face as her body acted as if she was blinded. Felicia opens her eyes widely as her body regained her posture and went off to cleaning her mess including the mess she made for her head.
"Wait, if she is blind when I close my eyes. Maybe she can hear me with my ears," Felicia said as she got her face wiped by her body.
Felicia said close to her ears, "Body, can you hear me with my own ears?"
The body sort of shudders in response, but acts as if it were nothing. Felicia assumes that her head plays a role in something after all as her head was mostly placed somewhere that her body needs to see. Despite the fact that she is just sitting there, Felicia's head felt useful for once and got the job done.
"Wow! We make a great team," Felicia said as her body gave a thumbs up, "You finally understand me?"
The body gave some hand gesture that it's to an extent.
"That works!" Felicia said.
The body then got a silver platter ready while placing her head on said platter as well. The snacks, tea, and Felicia's head seems to compliment each other well as Felicia's body carries herself out.
"I think I can get used to this," Felicia's head said.
...
"Oh Corrin, thank you for taking care of me," Camilla said, "I'm such a failure as a big sister."
"No you're not," Corrin said, "Things happen though this one is an odd case."
At the moment, Camilla's head is sitting on a table in Corrin's room. It's for the best as Camilla feels comfortable being there with her little sister though she feels hopeless at the same time. Apparently it is not in Noir, but in Castle Valla which is a long story based on Fire Emblem Fates Revelations.
"On the bright side, people can finally look at you in the eye," Corrin said.
"How could I ever forget?" Camilla said, "You know, I should take advantage of this while I'm at it! It's about time people take me more seriously."
"About that..." Corrin said.
"Oh right, there's this," Camilla said, "It's a shame that I could not even borrow another body as well. I would like something modest but fit."
"From what I heard, victims are usually random or their situation relates to heads, they can still eat and drink, head and bodies has this odd telepathic sense that's inconsistent, and you can't reattach at all," Corrin said.
"So I am to be a head forever?" Camilla said.
"Of course not! We'll figure something out!" Corrin said, "Felicia is said to have snacks here for us at least."
"I feel more confidant in finding my body again than Felicia preparing us something good," Camilla said, "No offense."
"Can't blame you," Corrin said before she heard a knock on the door, "That must be Felicia! I'll go help her out in case. Just stay here and be a good head."
Camilla smiled, "Yes dear sister."
Corrin went off as Camilla is sitting on the table quietly. The head will do anything for her little sister, even without a body. Camilla waited for Corrin as she tries to behave only to hear some odd sounds near the window. Camilla is facing away from the window so she couldn't tell who it was.
"Show yourself!" Camilla ordered before suddenly hear Corrin scream, "Corrin!"
Camilla wanted to go after this intruder but she is only a head. She wished she could roll by herself, but that can't really work. Even if she can, her hair would get in the way.
A shadow looms over the head as Camilla felt powerless to fend for herself as she sadly accepts her fate. Before she could call out for Corrin one last time, she saw the hands of the intruder and realized that it was her own.
"Body?" Camilla asked as she had a good look at her captor. It turns out to really be her original body.
"Oh you naughty girl! Where were you?!" Camilla said as she was carried by her body with both hands under the neck and belly leveled.
The body proceeds to hug the head as if she finally found her. Camilla's head had this strange sensation, this rush of thoughts went into the head as it appears to belong to her body.
"You had trouble finding me and you ended up here? You poor thing," Camilla said, "You also think you are a burden? I never meant that! I love you for who you are. We don't really choose how we are born, but we can choose who we love."
The body hugs the Camilla's head more as the head is held up higher to her chest. Camilla felt the squishy feeling of her melons as if she is bouncing on a bed. The head might enjoy this if her body treats her as well as this.
As Camilla was bonding with her body, Corrin came back to the room along with Felicia. However, the princess was shocked over the fact that Felicia is also headless like her. Felicia's body placed the snacks on the table while maintaining her head on the platter.
"Who knew that you are more graceful without your head," Corrin said.
"Oh, thanks Corrin!" Felicia replied, "I'm surprised myself. And Lady Camilla has her body back?"
"I kind of noticed to," Corrin said.
"Wait, I find Felicia being able to be a better maid while being headless to be more odd than that!" Camilla said, "It just puzzles me."
"I'm just glad that I'm better as a maid at all," Felicia said as her body sort of pats her head and trying to tell her something, "Excuse me, there's more work to be done."
And so Felicia left gracefully as Camilla and Corrin are left dumbfounded. Camilla assumed that Corrin screamed because of all of this and it seems that her having her body back seems to be weak news in comparison.
"At least we got one thing settled," Corrin said.
"Yes, but I'm still apart," Camilla said, "But I know that my little sister will help me."
"Of course I will, of course I will," Corrin said.
...
Ever since that punch from Severa, Cynthia's head is stuck somewhere in the woods with nobody to help her. Her head sat there alone as her cries for help were pointless.
"Dang it Severa! Who knew you could punch that hard! Keeping me alive no less!" Cynthia complained, "Being only a head sucks!"
A squirrel was nibbling on one of Cynthia's twin tails as the head was powerless to get it off, "Shoo! Shoo, Mr. Squirrel!"
The mammal was the least of her worries as some ants were slowly crawling onto her cheeks. A spider was descending onto her face from a tree. Flies were flying around her as if she was a pig. A bird flew by and decided to make a nest on her hair. Then a boar came and left over something that smells foul.
"Ew ew ew! Get off of me!" Cynthia cried as she shook her head to get some of the creatures that tried to get on her.
The head managed to fend off the bugs as they crawled off. Some ants still got on her either by the hair or parts that she can't reach on her face. The squirrel scratched her before leaving while the bird peck on her before it flew away. Cynthia's head was becoming a mess with dirt covering her face, some scratches from animals, and signs of bugs on her.
"To think a hero of justice is reduced to this," Cynthia said as she starts to feel hopeless, "Even so, I need to survive! I still that heroic spirit to lift me up and survival skills! I probably need some camouflage."
Cynthia notices some leaves falling on her along with some twigs. There were some sticks on her already from the bird so she is off to a good start. Cynthia then practice biting off anyone who gets in her way while teaching herself how to shake off insects that crawl on her. She might be only a head, but she made herself something much more.
"I'm now Cynthia! Head Survivor of Nature! The Disembodied Spirit of Determination! The... errr... I'll think of something better," said the head.
For days, Cynthia remained on that spot while failing to get help. She managed to find food by biting onto any thing edible that comes her way. She had to resort to eating insects sometimes. She stayed hydrated by drinking whatever dew she could reach. Eventually the head managed to act independent somehow in her own way. Though there is this odd feeling that Cynthia doesn't need food or drink as she never felt hungry or thirsty. Even if she ate something, it was hard to swallow.
As time went by, Cynthia starts to look more dirty with dirt covering her face, some tan from the sun when it gets over her shade, lots of plant life landing on her hair, and her mouth is covered with leftover blood or stuff from her meals. Bones and leaves cover her surroundings as the head slowly got used to her new life. Even the head herself was surprised that she made it this far.
"Finally! I'm a force of nature! All that the Earth has to offer shall fear me!" Cynthia bragged.
"Is that so?"
Cynthia was shocked to hear a voice from someone after so long, "Who's there? Show yourself! I'm not afraid of you!"
Even though Cynthia can fight against animals, she was not sure what to do about humans. Cynthia braced herself as the bushes started to sway back and forth. This person is drawing nearer as Cynthia is beginning to fear what's to come. When the person finally came out, it was...
"Lucina!" Cynthia cried.
"Cynthia! Thank the gods you are okay! At least your head by the way," Lucina said.
"Where was everybody?! It felt like a month since I was stuck here!" Cynthia said.
"You were only missing for about two days," Lucina said, "Severa kind of told me just know where you could be. We spent the past days either trying to help Severa put her head back on or finding you. I was just walking to get my mind off of things only to stumble upon you."
"Severa lost her head too? Weird," Cynthia said.
"It only gets weirder as it kind of spread to everyone else. Though for some reason it targets only women for some reason," Lucina said as she picks up Cynthia's head and brush some of leaves on her hair.
"If that's the case, Cynthia! Herald of Justice returns! This time as a Bodiless Hero!" the head cheered.
"I see..." Lucina said as she walks off with the head only to fall into some random trap hole, "Whoa!"
It was out of nowhere was it appeared normal at first only for it to reveal itself so suddenly. However, this hole does seem odd as if it just appeared just now. Sort of like a portal of sorts. When the two finally landed, Cynthia's head fell off of Lucina's hands while Lucina's head popped off upon impact on the ground.
Lucina's head tumbled and rolled towards Cynthia as the two head eventually come to a pit stop. Laying on the floor sideways facing forward in a dark hallway of sorts.
"Where's my body?" Lucina asked.
"I don't know, it's so dark here!" Cynthia said.
"I think I feel my body. It's walking down a hall... any second now," Lucina said.
"You can feel your body?" Cynthia asked.
"Sort of," Lucina said, "I have no control over my body, but just a vague feeling of having a chest or hands. I just feel it more when I just focus and meditate."
"Let me try," Cynthia said as she closed her eyes and focused on her body only for her to open her eyes in shock, "I should apologize to Severa later."
Suddenly torches lit up as the heads of Lucina and Cynthia got better bearings of where they are. They are surrounded by a catacomb of sorts that gave them chills up their non-existent spine. The catacombs are filled with disembodied heads, specifically of all the female heroes from the past. Each of them that Lucina and Cynthia recognizes from the past.
"Is that Celica from Valentia?" Cynthia asked, "What's going on?"
Suddenly all the heads woke up either abruptly or slowly as they saw the two heads. All the captured heads can do is watch in pity as they can't do anything but converse with each other about the heads on the ground.
"I get the feeling that whoever did this to them probably is doing the same to us," Lucina said as suddenly her head was picked up.
"You?" Cynthia said as she recognizes the person who picked up Lucina before being picked up herself.
The two heads are now captured by this mysterious person. Who could it be and what is their agenda? Not sure if I will be able to tell you until next time!
