Our story begins with two girls that are pen pals. They both live in drastically different countries from America to Japan, but are able to chat with each other occasionally with the glory of the internet. The one from America is named Amy and the Japanese one is Ami. See what I did there?

Right now, they are on Facebook as they use an accurate translation website to communicate with each other since Google is not that reliable in terms of translating. A certain question they ask today will really drive the plot, right about now.

Amy: Hey Ami, have you ever consider coming to America? Like through a transfer program.

Ami: Not really. Even if I do, I'm not good at English and may rely on a translator like I am right now.

Amy: It's more or less that I found a way to visit each other's lives for free.

Ami: Eh.

Amy: The only problem is that it's only our heads.

Ami: What do you mean?

A link to the opportunity was link to Ami's message. The girl looked it up and sadly it was all in English, but she saw images of people taking their heads off. Apparently she found one English word which is Japanese which she clicked on. She was immediately sent to the Japanese site as she was shocked at what this clinic does.

Apparently they would let send people's heads to other countries and stay with someone for a bit for cheap traveling reasons. It was also meant to test out some new form of technology. Ami went back to chat and said.

Ami: I don't know if this is a good idea.

Amy: It's actually safe. Apparently I heard about this when my cousin sent her head to my house and told me about it.
I mean if we sent each other's heads, I can borrow your body and you can borrow mines.

Ami: I see. Well I got a visitor for now. Please wait.

After a short while, Ami came back as she type up something that would surprise Amy.

Ami: I literally just saw my grandma with a body of some hot lady.
She ironically used that same service and borrow the body of a lady who wants to visit the country side.
My parents were also aware of this and thought of trying it out and encourage me to do so to be more well rounded and cheap reasons.

Amy: Well what are you waiting for?
Let's try it out soon.

...

Both Amy and Ami decided to visit each other's countries for Spring Break as they prepared by adding notes for each other in their rooms and went to the clinic that will prepare for the deportation.

Amy POV:

Amy and her parents were with her as they went to an airport like place as she is introduced to a guy who is packing what look like heads in boxes. He saw Amy as he said, "Oh hey, another one wants to join. You must be Amy, right."

"Yes sir." said Amy, "I'm here for my trip to Japan for a head swap of sorts."

"Well follow me then. Though your parents can wait while I do the decapitating procedure." said the man, "Don't worry, it's safe."

Amy followed the man to another room to that only has a chair and a laser. The girl is seated down as the man prepares the laser before her.

"Don't worry, it will not hurt. Just going to zap your whole being and then your neck." explained the man, "Do you also mind tying up your hair so that you don't lose any?"

Amy did as she was told as she kept her hair away from her neck. She felt a shining light captured her entire body as it slowly shifts to her neck. She felt her neck tickled a bit as she left as if she is being lifted up. Amy looks around and found out that her head is off her body. She lost all control from below her neck as she saw her body panicking.

"Whoa, you don't see that every day." said Amy.

A mirror was presented to Amy as she only saw herself as a head with no signs of a neck or any blood. Her hair dangles down below her as the laser kept her floating. It's as if she was a head her entire life based on how she looks.

"Well, just need to put you in a box and you are set to go." said the man, "Few things to note is that bodies tend to have a similar personality to the head and can be your translator of sorts. Just tell it what you want to say and the body will translate either by text or hand signs. This is good to know if you are going to countries that don't speak the same language as you."

"I hope that won't be much of a problem. I'm borrowing my pen pal's body." said Amy.

...

Ami POV(This part is when she is speaking Japanese while italic is English):

Ami has went through the same thing as Amy as she is now only a head in a box. She was placed face up as she saw her parents and her body waiting for her to leave. Ami is still anxious at looking at her body having a mind of it's own. It just stood there looking as nervous as her.

"Bye mama, bye papa, and bye body." said Ami.

"Take care." said Ami's mom.

"Be sure to contact us if you can." said Ami's dad.

Ami saw the box as it closes as she fears about being bored for the whole trip. As the light escapes her, she suddenly felt sleepy. She closed her eyes to see more darkness after a bit with the last sound she heard was the engine of an airplane. When she wokes up, there was light. She looked in front of her of what seems to be two white people who looked welcoming to her. One of them is a woman while the other is a guy.

"Uh, Good Afternoon(Konichiwa)." said the man.

"I don't think that is how you say good morning." said the woman.

"Wait, what is it again?" asked the man.

"I think it's 'ohayo', dear." said the woman.

"Yes!" blurted out Ami as that is one of the few English words she knows.

"Oh, so I was right." said the woman, "Hello Ami, I'm Amy's mother. It is nice to meet you."

"Yep, just as Amy's notes said." said Amy's dad.

Ami wanted to nod, but she is stuck in the box and can't really do much at the moment. She hoped that Amy's body picks her up and use her to translate just as the guide from Japan said. Though she is sort of glad that Amy left some notes for her parents to talk to her.

"It is a pleasure meeting you." said Ami in Japanese.

Amy's dad got out his notes and nodded as he seems to have an idea what Ami said.

Suddenly, Ami saw what looks like a headless body as it picks her up. Ami felt herself being lifted up and tucked under the right arm.

"What?" asked Ami.

"Please make yourself at home with Amy's room." said the mother.

Amy's body then got out her phone and started to type in Japanese as Ami read what the mother said. Ami then nod as the body's hands let her do so.

"Thank you very much." said Ami as the body took her where Amy's room is. Ami wanted to bow, but seems like it is not a common custom in America.

"I think she said thank you." said Amy's father.

"I think that phrase is obvious in today's society." said Amy's mother.

...

Amy's POV (Amy speaks English while everyone who speaks Japanese is in italics for this part):

Before Amy could get to Ami's room, Ami's body bowed before leaving as Amy's head felt the precautions of herself being rocked forward and back. Amy's head is tucked under Ami's arm as she is walking into the room. As much as Amy want to attach to Ami's body, she needs the body to talk to anyone. Though some alone time is a great time for being attached.

"Hey body, mind putting me on?" asked Amy.

The body obeyed as Amy felt herself being lifted up and placed on her pen pal's neck. She had the sensation of having a body again as she flexes a bit and went to look around the room.

It looks like an average room at home except that it is slightly smaller, there is no bed but a Futon, the place looks clean and blank with some accessories, and a desk for studying with a laptop on it. To Amy, it felt plain, but in a different way. Other than the fact that there were some stuff in a different language, the whole room seems to be plain. Amy remembers her room at home which was slightly bigger with some more energy to it with the room being a shade of white and has some extra things. Though her room is plain nevertheless at home.

Amy saw a note that is written in English or attempted by Ami. It lists some passwords, Japanese phrases to understand, a little background on what to be aware of in town, and so on. All of it seems convenient as she folds the note into her pockets.

Suddenly there was a slam on the door as a little girl pops out saying, "Hey big sister!"

"Okay, Onee-chan means big sister. What to say to her next?" Amy said to herself.

"Oh, you must be that transfer person that my big sister told me about." said the little sister.

"Uh." said Amy before she took her head off.

Ami's little sister looked surprised as Amy quickly ask Ami's body on what's what. The body got out some notebook paper and started writing. The body showed the little sister a note on what is going on as it said.

"Yes, I am that transfer girl. We went through an odd system to experience each other's lives. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too." said the little sister.

Amy, trying to remember that phrase as Ami's body took out the note and showed it to Amy's head. Ami's body picks up Amy's head and held her with both hands which lets Amy nod.

"Nice to meet you too." said Amy.

The little sister looks at Amy with a confused look as Amy realized that she spoke English. She then looks at the body and said, "Body, please translate quickly."

The body got out Ami's phone which was running out of batteries. She typed quickly and showed it to the little sister who just smiles back. Amy would expect the little girl to freak out on her headless state, but was glad that it did not get to extreme. Though the phone shuts off and needs charging now.

...

Ami's POV:

Ami is currently walking outside with Amy's brother. He looked around her age and is a bit freaked out on her current state. After all, Ami is literally a head being carried by the body of her friend. There was some awkward silence as Ami is pretty much a freak at this point. Anyone they pass by either recognize the new clinic or is freaked out at Ami.

Ami decides to break the silence and ask, "Excuse me, can we try some hot dogs? I'm interested in trying some."

Amy's brother look at her with no idea what she is saying, but the word Hot dog. He replied, "You want some hot dogs?"

The body translate for Ami as it says the same thing as the brother, but in her native language. Ami decided to use an English word that she knows and said, "Yes."

"Alright Ami." said the brother, "Hmm, sounds like my sister's name."

Another two words that Ami understands in English, sister and name, "Yes, it does sound like your sister's name."

The body got texting and showed the message to the brother.

"Huh, kind strange if you ask me." said the brother, "Hmm, I never said my name. It's Brad."

Ami heard the name Brad and assumed that is his name. She then said, "Nice meet you Brad."

"Uh, your getting there." replied Brad as he respects Ami's attempt to speak English.

"Hey body, what did he say?" asked Ami.

The body did some hand signs that made sense to Ami as she looks at the man, "Oh."

So eventually the two got some hot dogs while scaring the cook unintentionally. It got weird.

"Ah! Monster!" screamed the man.

"I'm sorry!" said Ami.

"Don't worry, it's from that new transfer traveling program thing that I'm confused about." said Brad as he pointed at an advertisement showing a woman taking her head off.

"Huh, never notice them new trends." said the cooker.

"Neither did I." said Brad.

The cook went to make some hot dogs while Ami looks at the boy and said, "Thank you."

"Your welcome." replied Brad.

That was another word that Ami recognize in English.

...

Amy's POV:

"So this is Mochi." said Amy as Ami's body fed her.

It was annoying for Amy to carry her head around, but the body is her only cheap translator at the moment. She is accompanied by Ami's little sister who is pretty much her available guide to Japan. Where Ami lives is nothing special as it's not those tourist places. Just an average town, just like at home.

"Do you like it?" asked Ami's little sister.

"Uh, body." said Amy.

The body got the phone that is fully charged now as it texted Amy what the little girl said. Amy then nods to give the girl a better idea on how she feels. The little sister smiled, but did not say anything as the smile was enough to tell Amy how she felt.

"Karaoke?" asked Amy.

The little sister looked at Amy and nodded, "I never been there before. Maybe Big Sister Ami has enough money for a session."

The body knew what time it was as it typed up what the little girl said and Amy nods to alert the body that she understands. The body took out Ami's wallet and it shows that it has some cash. Maybe it will be enough.

"Let's go." said Amy.

The little sister nodded since that phrase is something that is repeated a lot in kids anime. So Amy carried her head with the little sister showing the headless girl the way to karaoke. As it turns out, they don't have enough in the end.

Stay tune for part 2.
