"I regret everything."
Elena is a teen with dreams, but it turned into a nightmare. She wanted to be a head model of an industry, but she ended getting what she wished for. Literally. She is now reduced to being only a head, sitting on a shelf before her next day of work. All she does is make cute faces for the camera while people would place her head in many angles in a variety of backgrounds.
She wished these people could have just used green screen, but no. They wanted a realistic head or face. They want to see the full hair that sways from the back. They want an authentic disembodied head with an emphasis on character rather than a good looking body.
Elena misses the feeling of hands and feet. She has to be a head because the people she works with says that it would help her get used to her new form. To Elena, she felt like an useless object. She requires for people to carry her around, she obeys any orders that are given to her, and she doesn't get a chance to talk much. No matter how much her care takers cared for her, she hated being a head.
She was not the only one as she is sitting next to other girls around her age who are reduced to being heads. It was almost morning according to a clock that she can see on the other side of her wall. She might as well wake up, probably talk to another head next to her. Her neighbor at the moment is a girl with a pink pony tail hair with a maid cap. Probably it's for a theme of sort in an event.
"Hey. Pss." called Elena.
The female head woke up slowly and moaned, "What's the big idea? I'm sleeping."
"Well I can't and I'm bored." said Elena.
"Have you tried counting sheep?" asked the head.
"You know as well as I do that never works." said Elena.
"Sorry, I'm just tired." the head yawned before going back to sleep.
"Look, I'm sorry. I just can't sleep for the past few days." said Elena.
The head opens one eye and said, "I understand. Not everybody like being like this, but you have to look at the bright side."
Elena don't want to just sit on the shelf doing nothing. She looks at the clock again and it's only 5:21 in the morning. The girls usually wake up around 6:00 or more. Either way, she decides to talk to another head next to her with a strawberry blond twin tails with beads that hold it.
"Good morning." said Elena.
The head woke up and looks at Elena, "Can't sleep?"
"Yeah." said Elena.
"Strange, doesn't being a head make you sleep more easily?" asked the head.
"No, that makes no sense. I don't get some people. There are no benefits in being a head." said Elena
The head is now fully awake as she seems interested, "We are more portable."
"Yet we can't move on our own. We live in a big world and I don't think being small is going to work well." said Elena.
"We're cute when we're small." said the head.
"I suppose." said Elena.
"Oh, the people here are really nice. They feed us, bathe us, brush out hair, and love us." said the head.
"True, but I don't want to be a pet." said Elena.
"Oh my god, it does make sense if you think about it." said the head.
"Yeah, being a head is so degrading. I don't think we are treated as humans at all." said Elena.
"But..."
"Though it is better than being abused."
"Pretty much."
"It does make you feel better if you look on the bright side, though I miss having a body. Being able to move around and be independent."
"I sometimes have that feeling. One time, I waited for a while just for someone to give me a muffin when it was next to me. If I had a body, I would had ate it."
"Yeah. My name is Elena by the way."
"Mine is Lisa, nice to meet you."
"I hope that we are place together often."
And so the two heads continued to talk about philosophical stuff up until their managers went to pick them up for a photo shooting or commercial. Sometimes Elena would request her manager to place her next to Lisa at the end of the day when she has to rest on the shelf. Being a head sucks, but Elena has it more easier than other people that I know.
