A tribute to Grapehyacinth by Prender
Gena had a huge grin on her face. “Well girls, here we are together again!”
“Been too long,” Lexi sighed. “I can’t believe we’re really going to do it.”
“Believe it,” smirked Caroline as she handed each woman a small bottle. “A whole day of transforming! Thanks to the Ultimate Potion!”
“Ooh, I can’t wait!” Lexi said, holding up the bottle to the light. There inside was the Ultimate Potion, the amazing serum which would allow them to change into … anything they liked. Anything. The only limit was their imaginations. And that was no limit at all for these girls.
What would they do first? Fruit girls? Bubble bath? Maybe even space heaters. Although frankly, Lexi had never quite seen the appeal of that one.
“Bottoms up, ladies!” squealed Caroline in glee, and all three women drank deeply from the bottles.
For second nothing happened, and then their bodies changed as they shrank, rapidly dwindling as their arms and legs withdrew and they transformed into … into …
… into three piles of spaghetti.
For a second there was quiet. Then one of the piles formed a mouth out of its strands.
“Uh, Caroline, are you sure you picked up Ultimate Potion? And not, say, Mr Wintergreen’s Spaghetti Serum?”
“Well, darn it, Lexi, you know him similar they look, and I don’t understand why he keeps them so close together, and … and …”
“And?”
“Uh … oops?”
The pile of spaghetti that was Gena burst into laughter.
“I hardly think this is a laughing matter, Gena,” Lexi snapped.
“Hee hee … uh … she said oops! Spaghetti Oops! Get it???”
There was a sigh.
“So … Ryan gets home at, what, five?”
“Uh-huh. So … I guess we just hang around for now?”
“Mmm. I guess.”
“Oh, come on, guys, ‘spaghetti oops!’ It’s funny!”
“Gena! This is past a joke!”
Gena’s laughter doubled.
“Bwa-ha-ha! ‘Pasta Joke’! Hilarious!!!”
And the pile of spaghetti was still giggling when her husband came to pick her up.
