“Champagne!”

Karen blinked and looked up from her magazine. Her wife Tori was standing there with a bottle of champagne and two flutes.

“Er, why?” she asked.

“Because it’s your birthday!” Tori grinned.

“Uh, it’s not my birthday until Monday,” Karen pointed out.

“Yeah, I know, but we both have to work that day, and … we have all weekend …” Tori’s grin began to fade. “You don’t seem into it.”

Karen sighed. “Tori, my love, I really appreciate the thought, but you know I’m trying not to drink. I mean, every time I get drunk something weird happens to us. The last time we ended up as a statue, remember?”

“How could I forget?” Tori winced. “Being caught naked in public is the stuff of my nightmares. Literally. If Mrs Wintergreen hadn’t happened to come along and shrink us, we might still be there.”

“Yeah.” Karen paused. “Did I ever tell you how cute you are when you’re six inches tall?”

“Aw, thanks honey. And don’t forget, Mr Wintergreen turned you into bitumen and I turned into a steamroller and ran over you.”

A little erotic thrill ran through both women.

“So anyway, Tori, I really don’t want to get drunk any more,” Karen said, kissing the top of her wife’s blonde pixie crop.

“Are you sure?” Tori waggled her eyebrows. “It’s special champagne. Got Ultimate Potion in it.”

“Well …” Karen could feel herself weakening. “Maybe just the one? But no more.”

“Oh, absolutely.” Tori began to pour. “Just the one.”

One hour later …

“Karen my beautiful girl,” Tori slurred, “I really really love you.” She held up the table lamp and kissed its shade. “But why do you like being a table lamp so fuckin’ much?”

“Why?” A little face — Karen’s face — appeared on the lamp. “Why wouldn’t you? Table lamps are cool! Plus, you know, the electricity thing. Hey, plug me in, honey!”

“Yes! Woo-hoo!” Tori stumbled over to the electrical outlet, her wife’s power cord in her hand. With a wave of her hand, she pushed it in and flicked the switch. “Hey baby, I really turn you on! Yes! Score one for the Torister!”

“Is that even a word?” Karen’s words came out as a gasp as the electrical current ran through her. Fuck, this was great! It was like the biggest, best hitachi ever. The thought that if she’d still been human she would be electrocuted ran through her mind. But she wasn’t human, was she? She was made up of plastic and wires.

Tori giggled at the expression on the lamp’s face. “You look like you’re having a really good time! Hey, save some for me!”

“Okay, okay.” Karen abruptly changed back to her human self. “Is there any more champagne?”

Tori shook her head. “Sorry, we drank it all.”

“All the bottle?”

“All three bottles!”

“Three? No wonder I feel so tipsy.” Karen collapsed on the sofa. “Maybe I should eat something.”

“Oh, I know just the thing!” And Tori’s body began to shrink, change colour, and her face flattened until …

“I’m a birthday cake!” Tori chirped. “Just for you, my sweet!”

“Thanks hon, that’s so thoughtful.” Karen picked up the plate and dipped a finger into Tori’s frosting. “Mmm! You’re delicious, babe!”

As Mr Wintergreen had warned them many times, you tended to take on the attributes of the things you transformed into. Thus now Tori was a cake, she had an overwhelming desire to be eaten. It wasn’t dangerous — once you’d been consumed, the Ultimate Potion simply returned you to human outside of whoever was eating you. The thought of Karen, whom she loved so much, taking her in her mouth would have sent shivers down her spine, if she had a spine.

“Eat me all up, sweetie!” Tori implored her. “I’ll taste so good!”

Fuck it. Karen took a dainty bite of cake. Okay, not so dainty. Okay, she actually crammed it all into her mouth.

Tori cried in ecstacy as she was chewed and swallowed …

She reappeared next to Karen on the sofa, embraced her wife and kissed her long and hard.

“Thanks baby, that felt so good.”

“My pleasure.”

“Well, actually, it was my pleasure.” Tori blushed.

Karen laughed. “Yeah, being plugged in did something similar to me.”

They lay embraced for a few minutes.

“You sure we don’t have any more champagne?”

“Sorry,” Tori said. “I could turn into a bottle, I guess.”

“Actually, I’ve probably had enough. Maybe I should get some coffee.”

“Coming right up!” Tori chirped. And she stood up and turned into coffee.

If she hadn’t had so much to drink, she might have remembered to make herself a cup and saucer too.

“Whoops!” the brown puddle said.

Karen giggled. “Tori, is that you? You’re a puddle of coffee!”

“Yeah, it’s me! You know any other talking coffees around here?” Tori winked. “Actually, this is kind of fun! I’m a liquid, and I sort of don’t have any form now …”

Karen gazed down into the puddle. From Tori’s perspective, she’d become a house-sized woman. “I think you forgot something.”

“What?”

“The milk!” And Karen’s body changed, bursting into liquid form and raining down on the surprised puddle of coffee.

“Hey baby!” Karen grinned as her milky form mixed with her wife. “I guess we’re a latte now!”

“OOH! This is amazing!” Tori loved the feeling of her and Karen’s molecules mixing together, as the milk and coffee combined to become something separate.

The two women’s features seemed to meld together and they became one wet pool of milky coffee. “Mmm, this is togetherness! I have to try melding together some more! Oh, I wish someone was here to drink me, that’s be great … although I guess they’d have to bend down and lap me off the floor …

“Oh, what else can we turn into and mix together?” A thought struck her. “Yes! That’d be great!” And the puddle exploded back into two women.

“I’ll go first!” Karen shrank again, her arms and legs drawing into her body, then her neck, and she was becoming cold …

Tori giggled at the sight of the two perfectly round scoops of ice-cream on the floor. “You’ve turned yourself into snowballs! How clever!” she winked.

“Very funny,” the ice-cream snorted. “You know very well what I am! And you know what goes with it!”

With a grin, Tori’s body transformed, and now she was a sticky brown mess that landed right on top of the ice-cream.

“Mmm, chocolate,” the ice-cream gasped with pleasure. “My favourite!”

“Are you sure?” the sauce giggled. “Because I know you love caramel too …” The sauce changed in colour as it switched flavour. “Or maybe strawberry?” And the sauce became a sticky red.

“So much choice,” the ice-cream moaned. “Hey! I know what we should do.”

“What?”

“Melt!”

“Okay. That’ll take a couple of hours though …”

“Not if we speed it up a bit!” the ice-cream grinned. And the ice-cream began to heat up ever so slightly. Little drips of milk began to form on its surface. Then, faster and faster, it melted.

“Argh! I’m melting, melting!”

“Oh, nice Wicked Witch, honey.”

As it did, the sauce began to heat too, giggling as it did. Then it began to mix with the melted ice-cream. One bubble, then another, appeared before the milky mess began to evaporate.

Tori and Karen loved being steam as they floated in the air before beginning to fade away. Once they did they changed back to their human selves.

“So amazing, honey!” grinned Tori.

Karen had an even better idea. “Shrink,” she instructed Tori. As Tori began to dwindle in size, Karen cleared space on the floor. “I love being liquid and sticky! Watch this! Here I go! I’m custard!”

Karen’s body collapsed into a big yellow sticky puddle of custard that spread over the floorboards.

“God, this is wonderful!” she gasped as her liquid form coated the floor.

Tori watched as she kept shrinking until she was only a few inches tall. At that size Karen looked like a vast lake of yellow stickiness. “I really want to get into you, baby.”

“Be my guest! Come on in, the custard’s fine!” chortled Karen.

Tori waded into her wife’s custardy form. She giggled as her body became coated with the gooey custard. Soon she was barely recognisable as human as she waded around with custard all over her.

She shrank even further until she was about half an inch tall. At that height she could swim, if rather slowly, in Karen’s body.

The custard grinned, feeling her tiny wife inside her shapeless puddle. “I love you paddling in me.”

“It’s fun, isn’t it? But you know what goes with custard?”

“Um … plum pudding?”

“Silly! No! Or, all right, yes, but what I think would be better is …jelly!”

Tori grew in size until she was several feet tall. Then her body shifted form, swelling into a transparent green shape. “I’m jelly now!”

“Ooh! So sweet! I just want to …” And the custard formed two arms that squished into the giggling jelly. Karen began to squish the jelly into herself, pulling it apart. Tori laughed hard. This was great! She was in so many places now. Instead of one big jelly, she was lots of little jellies.

Karen shifted form, and instead of custard she became a big porcelain bowl. “Melt, baby!”

Tori’s jelly form began to melt, until she was a semi-liquid, semi-solid green transparent pile of goo. Then she melted a little more. “Look at me! I’m a slime girl!”

“I want to try that too!”

Karen shifted, matching Tori’s form, and a big pile of green goo lay on the floor.

The two women couldn’t stop laughing. It felt so naughty to be two girls in one big blob. Then they began to shift back to their human selves, lying entwined on the floor naked, kissing each other softly, then with increasing passion.

But once they’d become human they began to melt, their forms softening like butter as their breasts, legs and arms began to merge with each other. Their lips melted together, and then their heads, and then they were a big puddle of pink melted women on the floor.

That puddle then began to bubble and steam until it evaporated, leaving a big cloud of steam in the air. In turn that steam thickened into a pink cloud that floated down the hallway and out through the kitchen window.

When it reached the garden the cloud began to rain, first one drop then another, then a little shower just a couple of feet above the grass. As it did the cloud cleared, until a few drops of water on the ground were the only sign it had been.

Then the little drops seeped into the ground, becoming one with the earth.

Very hippie, Karen thought, as she felt part of Tori and part of the soil. She basked in the sunlight that warmed her. It felt so good.

Soon she and her beautiful wife would change back. In the morning she’d probably have a thumping headache, queasy stomach and ringing ears. But right now, without a head, stomach or ears, life seemed pretty damned fine.

Happy birthday, me, she thought.
