Has anyone else ever had their original character mistaken for a licensed, copyrighted fictional character?

This has happened to a few friends. This has happened to me. And I'm not mad.

I wear it like a blue ribbon. That means that Phantom looked enough like an iconic character that you thought, "maybe they're the same." 

It started when Nomad did Phantom and gave her a bit of a greenish hue.

But he wasn't the only one. 

And now? I get it. Painting pale white alabaster skin is hard! There's no color to work with! Therefore I give you all permission to tint her up if you need it.
