They show you who you are on the outside, not the inside. A mirror is honest; it can modify but only so much. It cannot simply lie. Mirrors are just objects, not people.

But there are also cursed mirrors. Narcissus was said to have drowned after falling in love with his reflection.

So, is this a cursed mirror? Or is this a normal one? Are you bound up and helpless, gagged with four layers? Are you chewing on a handkerchief that I jammed between your pretty black lips, covered in a thick bandage, and then sealed shut with inescapable and stretchy tape?
