I don't think she's defective, but for some reason this particular China Doll is very hard to assemble. Hisa, hold her arms tight. Tighter! She's quite the squirmy little doll... I wonder if that's supposed to be a feature? The spandex catsuit went on just fine. It was downright magical how easy it was! But for some reason, she just doesn't seem interested in wearing the mask.
Such a shame, because it's so pretty! A nice white mask, crafted from the finest of alabaster-white polymers... a snug spandex outfit to hide the identity... and of course, a thematically appropriate dress. Who could really resist being dolled up and dressed? This one, that's who. Or that's what. It's hard to remember.
All right, hold her steady once more. I'm going to tickle the poor thing until she opens her mouth. There we go! Open wide, part your lips for the soft plug. Suckle deeply; let the compounds cloud your mind. No skin to betray your identity; only the pretty face of a china doll. Breathe deep and swallow...

A commission from an old friend featuring her getting suited up and masked as a china doll. The magical mask assures obedience with a combination of mind control, aphrodisiac, and gentle suggestion. When that isn't enough, physical punishments and rewards can be used. The result is a pretty, compliant and beautiful walking doll. A bit more showy and less industrial than a MirageCorp drone, but also more consumer-oriented. The mask is smaller and can be sold alongside the spandex for a quick and effective dollifcation. Some versions with toned-down hypnosis and aphrodisiac are marketed in speciality shops; these mass-market versions still feature all the fun self-sealing and anonymizing features of the original.
The 'first wave' of these consumer China Masks were known to be too powerful and had unintended side effects. 1% of those affected even grew much more dominant and were able to secrete the same aphrodisiac and pharmaceutical compounds from their spandex "skin." A few were known to gain the sudden urge to acquire more dolls and convert their friends and associates into dolls like them. Of course, the vast majority of these accidental products were recalled and the masks were removed.
A few China Doll masks can still be found at curio stores without label or date of manufacture, but they emit a strong desire to be worn.
