First spotted in 10 AF, the "Human Hive" appeared on the periphery of human space; mysterious men and women enclosed from head to toe in smart-fabric latex suits. Menacing masks and the shiny squeak of their suits give them an appearance that straddles the alien and the fetishistic. They arrive silently and depart without excuse or explanation. They act like an imperious diva, ignoring the help, or a devious dominatrix, refusing to grant the masochistic desires for normal communication.
Autonomist and isolate habitats in the vicinityclaim that the Hive makes offers of trade, exchanging partially synthetic microorganisms the hive refer to as 'nectar'. Others report that the Hive simply attacks without warning, abducting humans and spiriting them away in cocoons of tape, rubber, or resin-like honey.
It is not entirely clear what happens to humans after their capture by the Hive's forces, but they take great care to only incapacitate, and are selective with those they acquire. Those who can escape before being loaded onto their barges report seeing victims stripped, dressed in form-fitting equipment, and sealed away. The material has a stretchy, malleable feel but was all but impenetrable, and victims were simply left to helplessly wriggle in their sacks until they were loaded onto the barge.
Members in the hive seem to have undergone some sort of mental and physical conditioning. One scientist suggests that those captured are utilized in a variety of roles; some men and women might be strictly restrained and conditioned to produce 'nectar,' stimulated, teased, and kept in an impassioned state. Other members of the hive, such as the gas-mask clad drones that perform their heavy labor, may be the result of nectar-producing worms that were 'promoted. </h3>

"You're probably dying to get out of that mask and suit, huh? You've been in that - how long - stuck in that cramped little ship? Our facility has showers."
"..."
"C'mon. I won't peek. I'm an honest gentleman."
"Negative. Alternative: you come visit my ship and enjoy our facilities. I assure you, you'll never want to leave."
