The Krystalians are a race of elusive and truly alien silicon-based lifeforms. Contact with them is rare and very little is known about them. The Krystalians sought to understand us better as well. They selected an Ambassador (whose name is unpronounceable) and asked for a volunteer to merge with it in a symbiotic relationship and act as its body and vessel. <br /><br />Kate jumped at the chance to make history and offered herself for the procedure, even though she knew she would be sacrificing her mind and conciousness. It was a small price to pay in exchange for human access to Krystalian technology.<br /><br />The Krystalian disintegrated Kate's head at the molecular level. Taking the place of Kate's head and mind, the Ambassador now has full control over Kate's body. Kate no longer needs to eat or age as she draws energy straight from the Krystalian's power source. <br /><br />The Ambassador is taken aback from all the new experiences and sensations that an organic body entails. The Krystalians are mineral lifeforms that reproduce by budding and things like genders, romance and sex are alien to them. Now the Ambassador is able to experience such things through Kate. The Ambassador doesn't really understand human concepts like love, affection and relationships yet but it has become enamored with sexual intercourse. It may not feel human emotions but it certainly feels the physical pleasure Kate's headless body experiences. <br /><br />And since the Ambassador has a woman as beautiful as Kate serving as her body and assistant, plenty of diplomats have lined up to show them Earth's customs.
