It was a perfectly ordinary day in Melbourne. Well, that is, except for the lesbian couple consisting of an invisible goth and a blonde with the ability to detach and rearrange her body parts.
Of course, nobody paid any heed to them. As far as everyone else was concerned, the invisible woman was no more strange than a woman with green hair or an odd birthmark. But both these girls knew better.
It all started when Bianca, the blonde, showed Nora, her gothic girlfriend, some strange artifacts from a mysterious shop. First was a set of markers that, depending on the colour, could alter both of them in various different ways, most of them involving dividing lines that could detach, clone, vanish or even make sentient their various body parts. Recently, they had found out that writing an “X” on their body would affect their whole bodies - Nora had used the red vanishing marker to make herself invisible, while Nora had used the black detachment marker to make herself modular.
However, they had no intention of using the markers while they were out and about - they were more interested in exploring a new reality where their transformations were seen as normal, and something they were apparently born with. Unbeknownst to everyone else, Nora and Bianca had slapped on transfer tattoos that had the power to rewrite reality as long as they remained on their skin, and like the markings made by the markers, could only be removed by special wet wipes.
Nora and Bianca made their way to The Jitterati, their favourite place to get a coffee, and were greeted by an enthusiastic young waitress.
“‘Allo! Table for two, non?”
The waitress, whose name tag read “Dominique” was around 19-20, and she had a rather thick Quebecois French accent. She was also quite tiny, no taller than 4’11”.
Nora and Bianca graciously accepted the offer, and Dominique led them to a vacant table for two. Once the two were seated, Dominique gave the two girls menus, and gave Nora something extra-special - a compliment.
“That’s a very cute ensemble,” said Dominique. “I love how it brings out your shape.”
Nora would have blushed if she had any visible skin. She was wearing a black pinafore dress over a long-sleeved fishnet turtleneck, and had traded in her combat boots for a pair of knee-high boots with square toes and block heels.
“Thanks,” said Nora. “Means a lot coming from you,”
As Dominique left to get menus for Nora and Bianca, Bianca shot Nora a glance.
“You know, you are spoken for.”
“She was just being courteous,” said Nora. “She must be new here, going by that accent.”
“First person we’ve seen today who was curious about your invisibility,” said Bianca, casually detaching one of her legs. “I wonder if she’s secretly interested in the kind of weird stuff we like?”
A few minutes later, Dominique came back with complimentary water, and took their orders. As they ate and drank, Nora took the opportunity to demonstrate how her invisible saliva managed to break down what she ate, swishing around a mouthful of coffee until it disappeared. Bianca smirked at Nora’s party trick.
“Man, I wish one of us was a medical student - it’d be cool to write a book about the biology of an invisible human being,” said Bianca.
“Or how food travels to your stomach when your head is separate from your body,” said Nora.

After they had finished and paid for their lunch, Nora and Bianca made sure to make contact with Dominique, the waitress who had greeted them.
“So like, I take it you’re new here?” asked Bianca.
“Ah, oui,” said Dominique. “It was very nice to meet you both.”
“I was thinking,” said Nora. “Would you be willing to meet up casually? I’d be happy to answer any questions you have about my…condition.”
Dominique smiled. The three of them exchanged numbers, and went their separate ways.

As soon as Nora and Bianca arrived home, they decided to change back to normal. But neither of them were willing to deal with bizarre mind alterations from the other, so they each took a wet wipe, and both agreed to wipe off their reality-altering tattoos simultaneously.
Following that, Nora used the wet wipe to erase the red “X” she had drawn on her hand and promptly re-apperead. Likewise, Bianca had erased the black X she had drawn upon herself, but not before making sure she was fully put together.
“So…you think we should get Dominique involved in our little experiments?” asked Nora.
“Maybe we should ease her into it,” said Bianca. “No nasty surprises.”
“Good point,” said Nora. “Maybe we should just get to know her as a person first,”
“Gotta admit, she is quite cute,” said Bianca. “She’s so tiny, and her accent is adorable.”
"Maybe once we come out to her, we can ask how she'd like to be transformed," said Nora. "She might surprise us."
