It was a late afternoon at Liz's Garage. It was one of those small workshops that you found in rural areas alongside small towns and cities. Not the wealthiest places, but still decent ones, and people of the place were usually proud of running their little businesses in their little towns.

Liz was among these people, especially since she opened her own garage a few years ago. It was a fine job. Not the easiest or most lucrative, but she wasn't in it for the money anyway. She enjoyed her job, fixing the local residents' cars and devices, and that was it.

Lightning up a cigarette and placing it in her mouth, she gave a look at the engine suspended above her by a hook. This old junk wasn't as glorious as a brand new car engine, but with enough tinkering, maybe she could extend its life by a few more years?

“Dammit. Talk about a piece of junk… “

Her hand rubbed the nearby table, in search of her wrench. Unable to find it, she raised an eyebrow. Did someone else take it? She grumbled a bit before heading to the nearby workstation where a feminine figure wearing a mask was busy welding what appeared to be the hinges of a car door. Poking her finger at the worker and interrupting the welding process, Liz took her cigarette in her hand and blew smoke through her nose.

“Did you take my wrench again?”

The worker shrugged before raising the welding mask that was hiding her face, revealing the face of Liz’s double underneath. Liz always hoped that she would avoid most of the issues that plagued women, but alas, postnatal mitosis was something that eventually happened to her. It was a natural process that affected a small, but significant number of women in the world. And of course, she had to divide into multiple Liz’s right after her garage opening, like it wasn't a stressful event already. At the very least, Liz appreciated a helping hand, given that they both shared the same mechanical skills up until the splitting event.

“Have you checked the toolbox? I'm sure it was here last time.” said the second Liz.
“No chance. I just checked already a few minutes ago. It's always on the damn table usually, and wrenches don’t grow tiny legs and walk off on their own.” answered the first.

Both Liz's shrugged before sharing the cigarette, the first one giving it to the second and allowing her to take a drag.

”Well…there is only one option left. If it's not me, and it's not you, then it can only be...Liz.”
“What? But she was supposed to NOT be around tonight.”
“And you also said she had to pack up some stuff…I guess the wrench was among said stuff.”
“God dammit. This other me will drive me crazy. Give me the phone, I’ll call her.”

The second Liz raised a small smile, before looking into the pockets of her jeans, handing the phone to her other self. The third Liz was going to suffer for this. But when Liz decided to become a sole trader, she was not prepared for additional employees.
