Detective Neko Luneth pulled up to the crime scene, having been called in when a disembodied head had been found near an alley where a bus had hid a pedestrian. She was still a bit shaky from a nightmare from the previous night, even though she couldn’t remember the details…that is until she saw the body.

Then the dream came flooding back to her, seeing through someone else’s eyes, speaking a strange language in a soft yet male voice as she approached a young woman who seemed unusually pale in the soft moonlight. Then as clouds covered the moon, she recalled her dream self pulling out a knife, sinking the blade into the woman’s arms, legs, stomach, always making sure to avoid hitting any vital organs. As the girl tried to scream, Neko’s dream self had put ‘his’ hand over her mouth, slitting her throat. Then the dream had ended.

Now at the scene, she remembered her dream in full and damn near spilled her coffee. As she tried to hide her distress from the other officers, she was called into the alley. A note had been left on the wall, written in blood. The letters were strange runes. Nearby was another note, a translation guide for each rune and what letter it stood for. It would seem that the assailant intended for them to decipher his language if they wanted to know anything
