Chapter I
Early the next morning, Seth began his morning run to work. He had chosen the 7-4 shift so that he could enjoy the sunrise as he got his morning run. As always, he had to cut through one of the more deserted yet shady areas of the town city when he saw something rare. Someone was lying in a pool of liquid in one of the alleys. While all cities have a homeless population, this citys homeless usually were in a different area, and none were ever lying in puddles unless it was pouring out. Being a Good Samaritan, and fearing something was wrong, he slowly approached the sleeping form when he noticed all the blood. He ran out of the alley and as he stood at the entrance of the alley and turned to walk to the payphone a block away, he tripped over something. He looked down and saw the disembodied head of a young woman and passed out, falling into the street, right as the morning traffic was picking up. As he fell, the approaching bus was unable to slow down in time. The tires squealed as the driver slammed the breaks, unable to avoid hitting the jogger. Upon impact, the driver could hear the neck snap and then felt the bus roll over the body of the jogger. The driver stopped the bus and put on his flashers, calling the police as quickly as possible to report the accident
