(Various Transformations)

The amusement park was closing, and Susan was practically dragging her sister to the exit gate.

“Just one more ride,” little Jenny begged, leaning back from the hand holding hers.

“No,” Susan said. “Mom and Dad are waiting.”

Jenny moaned in frustration as they rounded a corner. Then, she caught sight of something unfamiliar. “What’s that?” she asked, pointing to a building half-hidden behind some hedges.

Susan glanced at the building. “House of Mirrors?” she said, reading the sign on the front. “We don’t have time to get lost. We’ve got to go.”

Seeing one last opportunity to have a little more fun, Jenny shook free of Susan’s grip and ran off to the House of Mirrors.

“Hey,” Susan yelled, running after her little sister. “Get back here.”

Jenny raced through the front door of the attraction and disappeared down some hallway just before Susan entered the building.

“Jenny!” Susan called, not wanting to play hide-and-seek with the brat. “We need to leave. Come on. Quit messing around. Where are you?”

There was no reply.

Susan sighed and began her search. The interior was decorated like a centuries old house with carpets on polished wooden floors and walls decorated with wainscoting and wallpaper, lit here and there by simple brass fixtures. In front of her in the entrance hall was an old wooden door. Above it hung a sign with the words “INVENIRE TE IPSUM'' painted on it in an elaborate calligraphic font.

Susan opened the door and walked deeper inside, where she found a series of connected rooms, each one decorated with tall wall-mounted mirrors of various sizes and designs. Some looked brand new. Others seemed far older. In fact, the whole building seemed far older even than the amusement park. However, Susan was sure she had never seen it before. Definitely, she had no memory of ever being inside of here, which meant she soon became lost in the galleries of mirrors.
