Self-bondage in the 21st Century.

---

First of all, man does it feel good to finish a story again. Of course, I don't finish one of the dozen stories I've started and left incomplete, but instead I stay up and burn my night squeezing out a brand new, improvised piece. Maybe planning is what's killing my flow. Or maybe I just needed some new inspiration to do something different.

Anyway, on to what I wanted to talk about in here.

I've been in a little bit of a Spandex Rennaisance.

My latex doesn't fit me very well anymore. I've been doing a lot of skating and working out and my measurements have changed drastically since I acquired my FantasticRubber years ago. On top of that, it's old, over-patched, and the seams have long failed and been re-bonded with rubber cement sourced from an art supply store. It's a mess. It'll still fit and feel good for the most part, but I've got to ignore a lot of sagging and wrinkling. Air leaks into the suit through a labyrinth of failing patches from years of accumulated home-repairs and imperceptible micro-perforations dotted across the latex. It's fun to wear but it always leaves me feeling like it's just not good enough anymore.

It's definitely time for a new suit, but these things don't come cheap, and real life has other priorities for me right now.

But skating a lot and finding my fitness also means finding body confidence, and so I've been experimenting with tights and leotards once more. I almost feel like I've earned the right to wear them in public now. As my skating style leans toward something akin to figure skating, my attire naturally shifted toward something more suited for dance and gymnastics, and so I started to shop for dance tights and leotards. It was only natural then that I discovered Capezio Body Tights, and the rest is, as they say, history.

The Capezio Body Tight is very much like an extremely high-quality pantyhose, except it climbs up past the waist, over the chest, and is held in place with shoulder straps. It feels soft and is extremely stretchy, and is sized extremely tightly. The result is a ultra-thin, body-hugging layer of "tactel nylon" that very perfectly hugs every curve of your body. It's light, and airy, and when you wear nothing beneath it it makes you hyperaware of the shape and position of your body, and of anything that's touching your body. You feel both clothed and naked at the same time, and even a soft breeze can be a sensual experience. Combined with a good leotard, it isn't just a lot of fun to wear — because it makes me so aware of my body, I'm constantly reminded to engage the right muscles to hold the correct body positions when skating. It's crazy how just changing my attire has improved my ability drastically.

Anyway, about the body tight: I bought a pair on a whim and I've been wearing it almost every day since. When it's in the wash, I have a pair of regular Capezio tights (cutting off at the waist) to attempt to fill the void left behind by the body tight, but it's just not the same — the feeling of material cinching the waist ruins the streamlined full-body fit of the body tight, which I've come to love so much. I've since ordered another and am eagerly awaiting its arrival. I'm quite excited to see what layering it feels like. Early tests layering the Capezio tights over the body tight have been extremely promising.

I've also become extremely obsessed with Hiro Gato. Their copywriting is right up my alley, and I've ordered a made-to-measure unitard from them, which I can barely contain my excitement for. I think I've also developed a not-so-small crush on their model Rei. Admittedly, that might have influenced my decision-making a little bit.

Now, I know this all feels tangential to my commentary, but I swear it's pertinent to the formation of the story.

It really is true for me, what I said in there about Spandex not being 'enough'. Spandex (as opposed to latex) feels amazing to wear. It satisfies my suit fetish and to a lesser extent my bondage fetish, but ultimately the sensations are more mellow. Almost like a slow burn. The stimulation is rarely aggressive, like latex sometimes becomes, and outside of the right mood it's touch isn't difficult to push to the back of my mind. It's not 'alien' enough to demand your attention when you're in it, and it's not prohibitively difficult to wear or remove.

This has helped it to fill an unintentional role in my life — I can wear it all the time. I can wear it to sleep... I can wear it under my clothes... sure, bathroom breaks are longer but they're not a downright pain like needing to pee while wearing a neck-entry rubber suit is. And that means that throughout the day, it's always there. It's always on me... or I'm always in it. I'm not always conscious of it but sometimes when I'm not thinking of anything else, I suddenly remember that it's there... holding me... encasing me... edging me closer...

Let's just say it does a lot to keep the 'spirits' up throughout the day... but it's also keeping me extremely frustrated and pent up, which... I kinda like?

I mean, orgasms are great. But sometimes after a good one I'm tired, and I want out. Sure, there's a different kind of pleasure in being forced to continue, but when you're doing it to yourself and you have work the next day... once the fantasy is completed, the brain (and body) wants to move on. But if you never reach the top of the mountain, the drive to conquer it can push you to keep going for much longer than you expect... and it's not an unpleasant place to be stuck in either.

I... may or may not be developing/discovering a mild edging fetish, and I guess I wanted to explore that a little bit. And I also wanted to think about the role of Spandex in that part of my life, and about bondage and control; specifically, control in an increasingly tech-driven, gig-economy-ish world (I'm sure there's an academic term for what I'm getting at, but I don't know it). About how services like Laundra, and many of its real-life counterparts both give and take control from different aspects of our lives.

And so, this story was born. A story where for once, the protagonist doesn't finish the story in a post-orgasmic stupor. Because if I can't get release... why should my characters?
