I got a little carried away on my first draft of this one, but had to change it because i felt it didn't really fit anymore, haha. but I still wanted to share:

The plan was... shaky, at best, but it was something. The only problem was the *thing* between Plum and the table.

Plum wondered how fast she could move while drugged.

She leapt into action, unsure whether she was trying to surprise the thing or herself. Was the thing even capable of surprise? Wow, this gas really makes you think, doesn't it?

'Wait...'

Plum hadn't moved. She stared at the suit in confusion. Did she just convince herself she'd moved? Shaking her head, Plum reached out an astral hand and firmly grasped at reality, momentarily congratulating herself on her use of lofty, hyperbolic metaphors. (This fucking gas, man.)

With a great leap, Plum finally came to a decision to act. She took a great leap to the right, hoping to skirt past the thing and grab a knife before it could stop her.

It was only when a tendril wrapped around her ankle mid-flight that she realized she'd really made her move.
